It seems to have escaped the Israeli military that there are some ethnic groups where if you get into a toe-to-toe slugging match, you may win, but you are going to HURT! Turks, Swiss, Finns, and Gurkhas come immediately to mind. No-one in their right mind expects an easy time fighting with these people.
34. IDF also made mistakes

To enter this huge ship , seeing how many potential terrorists are on board - they actually risked many casualties, dead and kidnapped soldiers. The active-terrorists took some of the Israelis hostage - this could have meant execution or being held in gaza. Israelis had to then release the trapped soldiers.
35. Kenneth O'Keefe beaten
peter42y ,   lisbon, portugal   (06.09.10)
This is really incredible. Now Israel does beat people before expelling them. Israel is becoming like an middle east country run by uncivilized people to say the least . People are beaten..,spanked...;

#24 See ΒΆ 10 of the San Remo Manual, more specifically, for authorization to act in International waters [the high sea], as well as what it in fact was in the instant case, Israel's economic zone. Suffice to say that Israel's action was impeccable according to International law
37. the beating

Should add that, given O'Keefe's self-image as a hard case, it may be unsurprising that he managed to provoke some incident; have to say the denial from the IDF is unconvincing though
