3. If you really want to shed some light,
Ken ,   Switzerland   (06.07.10)
take your blinders off so you can see what is so obvious to the rest of the world. Do you really think some military guy is going to hurt israeli by telling the truth? "Don't be silly!"
4. #3
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (06.08.10)
It is for internal use, moron !
5. #3 what is so obvious to the world?
Stephen in New York ,   New York   (06.08.10)
What do you imagine is so obvious to the world? It should be that Israel will not allow an Iranian port in Gaza. If you think that an exaggeration, you and the “peace activists” deserve your fate. Your law regarding minarets will do little to protect you once your “guest workers” reach a certain political mass.
6. Thanks to all the video documentation
Danny   (06.08.10)
It IS perfectly obvious who attacked who first.
7. Not a Matter of Legality
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (06.08.10)
The Sinking of the Lusitania was legal. If all they look into is legality, the probe will be a waste of time and money. It is a matter of lessons that should be learned. Germany, after sinking the Lusitania should have learned is was a bad idea to attack civilian liners carrying Americans. In this case, armed assault in the dead of night triggered a self defense instinct among the civilians. They did not expect a cordial or pacifist IDF doing an inspection. In this case, two double taps to the front and then the back of the head of an American high school age kid when he'd already been shot in the chest and leg was not good public relations and certainly not any type of defensive action by any soldier. Somebody in Israel needs to realize this and put it on a list of things not to do.
8. What is there to probe?
Brian ,   Yel Aviv. Israel   (06.08.10)
Don't fast rope your men one at a time into a violent armed crowd that outnumbers them ten to one, one at a time with orders not to shoot and armed with paint ball guns, and only pistols as back up weapons. WHAT IS THERE TO PROBE? HOW DAMN STUPID!!!! WHO EVER WAS COMMANDING THIS OP IS AN IDIOT!!!! How damn stupid can you be? Our best unit lost men to injuries and is demoralized and has lost it's deterrence, what is there to probe? Another complete military failure due to our politicians, being more worried about what a world that obviously hates us thinks, if there is going to be a blockade, it's simple, warn them and the world if they don't listen, sink the ship, that would put a stop to this crap. Now many more ships are coming, and our Navy will be dealing with this instead of defending our nation against real threats, absolutely stupid!!!! This is no way to run the military, Barak needs to go!!!!!
9. An international committee should inquire Turkey's conduct
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (06.08.10)
on this whole miserable "flotilla". The Turks have arranged an "Humanitarian Flotilla", which included amongst other things terrorists and mercenaries who were trained in military camps in Afghanistan, some old shoes and overdated Tylenol. Moreover, they declared their real aim was "to break the siege on Gaza" rather than to bring aid (unnecessary though it may be) there. Moreover, the entire conduct of Turkish PM Erduan should be questioned, how much he was involved in thr organization of this flotilla. Also, the refusal of Hamas to accept the delivery should be investigated as well. Was it only about provocation? And is this what the world supports - provocation? Open your eyes. The only thing the Hamas in Gaza wants is missiles.
10. IDFcommander: If Erdogan sails to Gaza will be declaring war
observer   (06.08.10)
“If he comes here with Turkish warships there can be no doubt that it would amount to a declaration of war,” Major-Genral (Res.) Uzi Dayan told Army Radio. “We need to draw a clear line and say that whoever crosses it will not be boarded but sunk.” Military people declare war instead of Democratic Israeli government, while those who decide on war in Military ruled Turkey are Politicians.
11. If Iran asks its expert to monitor its nuclear program?
T ,   USA   (06.08.10)
If Israel is allowed to investigate its own behavior, Iran has every right to investigate its behavior and to ask everybody to shut up and get out of its way.
12. Mission Failure
Mike ,   Toronto   (06.08.10)
The army needs to take a good look at this mission and find the obvious mistakes. Sending one soldier down at time was a mistake. There should have been six sent down at once, with a second chopper dropping another six 30 seconds later. Sending them down without shields and weapons was a mistake. Sending a soldier in to a hot spot without his weapon is negligent. Not to mention the poor intelligence gathered on the "peace activists". Had the navy gone in with a smart and overwhelming mission plan, lives would have been saved.
13. A forgone conclusion
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (06.08.10)
Any IDF investigation of themselves will result in a foregone conclusion, so why bother?
