31. US backs international role in flotilla probe
Simon Benchimol ,   Montreal- Canada   (06.09.10)
To Be credible the flotilla probe must have international observers, preferably military personel who will just report on the process but Isreali soldiers should not be questioned by other people than Israelis.
32. No way
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (06.09.10)
Don't accept, just stay firm on our position. We have been provoked, we made may be a mistake, but the world has no authority to judge until every nation is judged as well for its crimes : US, USSR (sorry, Russia!) China, Arabia, Turkey, UK, France, Spain, Italy (Germany is already done), etc. etc. Hakim, "free the palestine" shows very well that even if was wanting to share with you the land where we are living together, you don't give me a choice. I'm sorry Salma, our friendship is in bad shape :(
33. Hell will freeze over before Israel gets fair treatment.
Doug R ,   Gwent UK   (06.09.10)
Criticism of Israel, like that of any other nation, is quite normal as long as it is comparative, contextual, and fair. However, when the Jewish nation is the only party criticized for faults that are far worse among other peoples, then such criticism crosses the line from being acceptable to being blatantly anti-Semitic. The UN & Israel make an interesting subject. Israel is the only country in the world that is not eligible to sit on the Security Council, the principal policy making body of the U.N. This situation violates the principle of the sovereign equality of all member states of the UN under Article 2 of the UN Charter. Arab/Islamic nations hostile to Israel are allowed to sit on the Security Council and vote on issues pertaining to Israel. Even the flotilla incident was debated & condemned under the Presidency of ... Lebanon. The UN has repeatedly held "Emergency Special Sessions" focusing solely on Israel. The UN holds an annual "Palestine Day" and has specific bodies devoted to supporting the Palestinians eg the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, the Division on Palestinian Rights & the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People. The UN Human Rights Council is obsessed with condemning Israel which is the only country listed on the Council’s permanent agenda and which is subjected to an investigatory mandate that examines the actions of only one side.
34. List all the urgent Commissions of enquiry
Martin ,   Jhb SA   (06.09.10)
List all the urgent Commissions of enquiry Sarah yes you right Lets list 50 urgent commissions of enquiry that need urgent attention. Sudan Darfur Iraq Kurds bombing now by E himself; Afghanistan Twin Towers Kenya Let keep the world busy with serious commissions of enquiry. Keep all the politicians busy dealing with serious loss of life and murderous criminal activity. But, not this one. Please, trash. But this event does not need a commission enquiry. Its purely a big black dollar News Stunt. Except the Muslim way is people have to die. No matter what. And if they die somebody must pay. This is a nonsense news event All the politicians are pulled into it for the sake of so-called humankind and be seen to do the right thing. Iran wants Gaza and to control Europe PERIOD and us. Why are we all falling for this stunt? Deceit, opportunistic, contrived, trash.
35. I am not in favor of a kangarue court- ....
Galut ,   Selah   (06.09.10)
but participation in a Israeli investigation by international observers would be OK as long as it don't become a platform for political grandstanding.... most ccountries would not allow thier citizens / military to be under an ivestigation of a international commission and niether should Israel
36. Int'l probe of US torture essential!
former charedi ,   New City, NY   (06.09.10)
Funny how the US always cites self determination when it comes to the themselves but, with Obama now in power, now bullies everyone else because international participation is then essential.
37. "demands"
tom ,   toronto, canada   (06.09.10)
the "demands" are very shrill considering that israel was acting within its international rights vis-a-vis an enemy, hamas, and a clearly declared naval blockade. and considering that the dead are all islamist extremists, who clearly wanted violence, and as one of them even put it, "dreamt of being a shahid". and considering that there were no americans among the dead, the "demands" from washington are particularly shrill. would they make as much fuss over a palestinian suicide bomber who blows up a discotheque or a supermarket in israel? or for that matter, have they EVER conducted an international inquiry, such as they are demanding of israel, into any of their military operations in iraq or afganistan which went wrong?
38. # 20....
Dana Rothschild ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.09.10)
there were 9 terrorists killed and not 9 people.....
39. i actually like really much, that netanyahu will give...
eporue ,   europe   (06.09.10)
testimony... always good, to have a false one in the drawer... whatever rubbish they fabricate in their cabinet, there WILL be an international full and transparent investigation. with or without israel. the latter would be the most harmful and embarrasing thing for you, with massive consequences. more than telling the truth and admit the guilt right now. you should PLEASE see, what damage they have done and *ARE* doing to you israelis and jews, to your country and its international standing... to get a clue, what people are talking about, have a look at the witness statement from theresa mcdermott (as link is not allowed, pls google: fear pain theresa) you will understand, that the world cant let you get away with this...
40. #28
Fatih ,   Istanbul   (06.09.10)
Noone should support murder in international seas. Racism should not be the way of living. Just think about killing 19 year old boy with 5 bullets. 4 to his head when he was injured and living. How can a human support this?
41. Learn own laws
(06.09.10)
The international community, should learn there own laws. Helsinki Principles on the Law of Maritime Neutrality 5.1.2(2) 5.1.2(3) 5.2.10
42. Wicked US/Nations Vehemently Opposed to Jewish Self-DEFENSE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (06.09.10)
I was shocked that the IDF were sent on the mission unprepared and inadequately armed - sending the soldiers into the hands of barbaric Islamo Fascist attackers. As can be seen on youtube videos, the flotilla males were NOT peace activists, they were cruel, vicious terrorists. Every attack on Israel is an attack on the Free World. On the front lines of global jihad, dear brave IDF thank you for fighting for Israel and the entire Free World. You are all heroes. I am forever grateful. Long live Israel! Long live the Free World! May we NEVER lose our freedom!
43. #3 - more like, why is Israel hammered when others ignored?
William ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
Sarah is just pointing out the very blatant descimintation that Israel faces with constant attacks against it by the very same people that aid purpetrators of more heinous crimes. Hence, your description of Israel's action of self-defense among known violent activists bent on lynching soldiers, as an Egyptian MP has so nicely admitted to today, as a "crime". Just as the Left in Europe consider it a "crime" every time a "Palestinian" terrorist is gunned down in battle with the IDF.
44. #6 - in response to Idiot post #8
William ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
In other words - "something must be wrong with you if you don't automatically accept the Arab superior narrative".
45. #40 - depends on what that boy was doing when shot
William ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
Makes a big difference, huh Fatih?
46. #20 - 3.33 average shots is quite low
William ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
In such a situation, the average would be much, much higher. In police raids in major US cities, anywhere up to 30 to one body can be seen. It doesn't mean police or the US are violent, it just proves your obvious ignorance in law enforcement or any similar situation as on the flotilla. BTW - if they were so "innocent" why did only the Turkish ship, with a violent band of Islamist Turks and a host of weapons, see violence, but all other ships saw nothing and things ended peacefully?
47. #16 - "Palestine will soon be free"
William ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
I don't understand what you mean. Do you mean "free" from Islamic terror and possibly become a good global citizen nation? Or "free" to continue terror and target Israeli civilians just as they have for 90 years now? I'm confused.
48. #11 - bet you stayed up all night thinking up that zinger
William ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
Stop eating the tarballs!
49. Enjoy ....

50. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.10)
Do you always answer your own questions? I'm guessing you're not exactly a competent doctor .... but anyway, no, I am arguing nothing of the kind. I am arguing for CONSISTENCY. For example, if you are going to probe Israel's actions in the course of countering attempts by the MARMARA to evade a FULLY LEGAL blockade, shouldn't we also probe other blockades imposed by other countries? The United States has had a blockade in effect on Cuba since the late 1950s. The United States and South Korea have imposed a blockade on North Korea since 1951. Let's talk about Myanmar (Burma), which the United States, England and France have blockaded for over a decade. Those aren't shooting matches. Regrettably, Hamas (i.e., Gaza) has engaged in very much hostile activities against Israel. So yes -- my argument is very reasonable, and I thank you for acknowledging it.
51. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.10)
Are you a betting man? LOL!! I'll take a BIG piece of that bet! You people are mired in delusion and denial. You are headed nowhere but the ash heap of history. Good riddance! Thugs, murderers and terrorists -- that is ALL you are. Easy to prove, Hakim, easy to prove. Now crawl back under your rock.
52. To: No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.10)
I guess you missed the part where the United States and South Korea did NOT accept the findings. That was all over the news, too. I can't believe you missed it! The Secretary-General of the United Nations is a toady of the so-called "unaligned" nations -- which is why the United Nations has no legitimacy these days. Hasn't for a long time, actually. Ban-Ki Moon has no spine. Germany? Italy? Friends do not betray friends. Not where I come from, anyway. Seriously, check your facts before you go mouthing off.
53. To: No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.10)
Wow! How many bullets do you think the Turkish army has used to kill the tens of thousands of Kurds they have massacred over the last several years? Huh? How many? What's the average? How many infants, women, children and old men? Just think about it.
54. International Flotilla Investigation
David ,   London, England   (06.09.10)
No No NO. Who is anybody to challenge Israel's internal investigation. Even if an investigation is necessary. Israel's judicial system is beyond reproach and recognised internationally as such so which other country has the right to take part in such an investigation?
55. To Fatih
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (06.09.10)
You will support that the same way we have supported your assassins in Tel-Aviv or J'lem, or all the rockets sent from south to north by Hezballah or Hamas. Don't come close to us anymore, it's not the right time. Stay away now.
56. fatih Turkey is lucky that Israel refused
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.10.10)
to have an International investigation. Read Semih Idiz today: http://www.milliyet.com.tr/turkiye-nin-sorusturma-kumari/semih-idiz/siyaset/yazardetay/09.06.2010/1248475/default.htm IOf there is an international investigation they will look at it from all sides. They would probe the connections of IHH with terrorist Hamas and the Erdogan government. Actually Netanyahu by not accepting the International probe made a big favor to Turkey.
