Kerry F. ,   San Francisco, CA   (06.10.10)
if Bibi really believes these joke sanctions make ANY difference whatever to the fabulously wealthy banked-up elites in Tehran then he's really an idiot. I can only hope this is part of a disinformation campaign... Anyway, a man's word should mean something, in the case of Bibi he's losing prestige every day.
2. netanyahu lauds....
sjoerd van der velde ,   hoorn-the netherland   (06.10.10)
there must also come sanctions against the other countries who have atom bombs and who donot want to destroy them. otherwise it is one big hypocritical and uncredible show/farce. whether all countries may have atom bombs or no country is allowed to have them. to hell with exceptions.
3. bibi praise obama ? for what
Robert ,   farmington,wv   (06.10.10)
And I thought are leaders was weak , what is he praising Obama for , the sanctions are so watered down a duck could paddle across them , bibi has became Obama's whipping boy no spine at all. For the love of god , can Israel put anyone in office with a spine , the only ones that should be praising obama is Israel foes...syria...Iran...and the list goes on..hey bibe do israel a favor if you are going to cave...step down, may the lord forever bless the state of israel...: )
4. Iran Sanctions
L.Bekessy ,   Brisbane Australia   (06.10.10)
It would be a great mistake even just to hope such sanction efforts will work. Sadly it will require much more to sober up such dedicated people with mass destruction as their goal.
5. Only bunker busters hitting their nuke making sites will end
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.10.10)
this nonsense. You don't talk them to making sense, you disable their ability to make nukes.
6. PM applauds the "ineffective"
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.10.10)
I assume the PM is only paying "lip service" otherwise he is completely delusional.
7. Hi Bibi play with this sanction for a while and be happy!

Israel, for 62 years now, wants nothing more than peace, and to be accepted in the Middle East as a neighbor and partner. The League of Nations and the British gave 23% of what used to be Palestine to the Jews to create the only Jewish nation on earth. The 77% remaining became Jordan. The Arab neighbors never accepted Israel and tried many times to eradicate this Jewish state among what they considered to be a Muslims only Middle East. Nevertheless, Israel succeeded to make peace with Egypt and then with Jordan. Israelis are dreaming to be at peace with Lebanon, Syria and Iran but that is impossible as long as they preach Israel's extermination. Now about the Palestinians, many Israeli Arabs live in Israel a normal life and are happy about the current situation. Others refuse to accept the Jewish state and call themselves Palestinians. Fatah and Hamas do not want to have their own Palestinian state. Their charter calls for the destruction of Israel and the expulsion of all Jews from their historical homeland. They want to turn the 23% of Palestine that is today's Israel into another Muslims only state. The solution would be for all Arab countries to accept Israel as a Jewish state. Many Israeli Arabs are happy to live in the Jewish state but the ones who do not feel it right should go live in the Muslim part of Palestine (namely Jordan). How to achieve this acceptance is beyond me, but again, I affirm that all Israelis (Jewish and Arabs alike) ever wanted was to be accepted by the rest of the Middle East. Iran has become the leader of the anti-Israel block and is using its influence on Lebanon, Syria and lately Turkey to achieve its goal of destroying the Jewish state. Terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah are being funded and trained by Iran to weaken Israel. The world has to find a way to make Iran and its proxies accept the fact that 23% of what used to be Palestine is now the Jewish state of Israel and give the Palestinians the choice to live in Jewish Palestine (Israel) or in Muslim Palestine (Jordan). The solution to this could be to send the rulers of Jordan back where they came from (Saudi Arabia) and let the Palestinian rule their 77% themselves. To let Iran become nuclear is not going to help the situation as they will most probably use this power to try to achieve their genocidal goal. Jews belong in Palestine and 23% might not be a fair share but they’d be content with it if only the Muslims would be satisfied with the 77% remaining. As long as they are not, Israel will have to keep on defending itself.

Salma ,   Palestine   (06.10.10)
As long as we live in a world hypocrite, favors the strong, applies double standards, there will no be peace ! Palestinians will not go anywhere, not anymore
13. meaningless
cape cross ,   alaska   (06.10.10)
This UN sanction is a farce. Unless the US and the EU blockade Iranian oil shipments, its main source of revenue, Iran will have a bomb within a year. New UN sanctions will not be imposed this year. We are witnessing the prelude to the start of WW III.
14. #11 its been a while for 9 years now. Get real.
