democracy and representing the will of the people. What is Fatah afraid of? Maybe that the years of mismanagement, corruption and institutional indoctrination of hatred will come back to bite the in the rear and see them out of power because their people are more comfortable in pursuing a hate oriented conflict with Israel and not building a state? Yea, I agree wirh Abbas. It's better to deny people a right to vote and stay in power to drain the coffers of the people so you can continue to pursue this fake peace you claim you want.
2. This is an arab defenition of democracy

If your in government already if you think your going to lose then postpone the election until you feel the political situation has changed and you can confidently win the election. Last time after Hamas won the election there was fighting in the streets between Fatah & Hamas because the Fatah people felt Hamas had no right to be in government. After the election it was agreed that throughout that parliament then there would always be a Hamas PM. After the take over of Gaza the Hamas PM was kicked out and replaced with one of Abbases Fatah partners in crime. If we do create a palestinian state we should just make sure we are under no illusions it will be a shining beacon of democracy in the arab world. It wil be just like every other arab state where there is only 1 party of government. They might allow opposition parties but if Fatah feel they will loose then will cancel the election.
