1. We have a right to sue him first.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.11.10)
I think Israel has first claim on bringing charges, it's incredible that someone who has done so much damage to the State of Israel should not be indicted. Boy, given Ehud Barak's history of bungling, the list of charges would be pages long. The French can wait their turn.
2. Allow Gaza to take its natural place in the region now
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.11.10)
The Gaza blockade shouldn't have been imposed in the first place and it could have been lifted a long time ago. Indeed, it can and should be lifted now by simply applying United Nations Security Council Resolution 242, as is. UN Security Council resolution 242 has been the basis for all peace talks and agreements to date between Israel and the Arab world. 242 calls upon Israel to withdraw its armed forces from territories captured during the June 1967 Six-Day War, which it fully did with regard to Gaza. 242 does not mention or even hints at the need to set up an additional state in the region, Gaza included. It does assume, though, that based on negotiations with Israel for the establishment of secure and recognized boundaries, the relevant Arab state - Egypt in this case - would assume control over territories that Israel vacates. Therefore, it is high time Egypt, the largest Arab state, shouldered responsibility and absorbed Gaza, the smallest Arab territory, which it had controlled until 1967. All, and first and foremost the residents of Gaza, will end up benefiting from such a move. So, why not do the obvious and simplest in resolving the Gaza predicament...??!!
3. one conclusion
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.11.10)
The Arabs want to sue Barak for his legal, justified defensive actions against Hamas, a racist organization that doesn't even try to hide its plan for genocide. This proves two things: The Leftists can hate, condemn and damage their fellow Jew, but the Leftist will still be hated. Israel will not be allowed self-defense from territories it abandons to the Arabs. And there are also two conclusions: The blockade of Gaza is untenable. Lift the blockade, but close all crossings to Israels. Hamas will fester until the Egyptians and Americans have no choice but to kill them all. Start massive building of Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria, the only place safe from Hezbolla, Hamas, Syrian and Iranian missiles.
4. Ah yet another failed court case
Danny   (06.11.10)
How are these court cases going... so far a 100% track record of being thrown out. Pretty impressive.
5. smart deeds for Peace
Steve   (06.11.10)
All this will be very helpful for the sake of the Palestinians...It is a great promoting for Peace and helping Israel and the Palestinians to make Peace. You are so smart French activitsts... congratulations...
6. BRING IT ON- WE WILL DEFEND TILL THE FRENCH GO MAD !
BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (06.11.10)
IT IS TIME JEWISH LAWYER NAIL THE FRENCH TOO !
7. CBSP
Frank ,   Canada   (06.11.10)
CBSP is an organization working for Hamas
8. No jurisdiction
sarah ,   The Hague   (06.11.10)
I'm becoming incresingly tired hearing about how the "peace activist" will bring a legal claim against Israel before the ICC. The ICC does not have a jurisdiction over the case. To begin with - Israel is not a signatory of the Rome Convention establishing the ICC. Secondly, it does not receive legal claims from individuals, but cases need to be referred to it either by a government, or the Security Council. Thirdly, it deals only with the gravest violations of international law, a skirmish on high-seas and a death of 9 individuals hardly qualify as a war crime, genocide or a crime against humanity. And lastly, the ICC only takes up cases, if it has been established that the national jurisdiction failed to investigate them.
9. TWO MINUTES IT ALL TAKES TO STRIKE THEIR CLAIM...
BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (06.11.10)
NO VALID CAUSE OF ACTION ALSO LACK OF JURISDICTION ;-)
10. Barak, guilty as sin
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (06.11.10)
#8 " it deals only with the gravest violations" He's guilty of those too. Where do you want to start?
11. SUE BARAK ??
e.cress ,   cape town   (06.11.10)
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE "ACTIVISTS" ARE LEGALLY UNPAID (OR PAID)MERCENARIES"??
12. #2
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (06.11.10)
Well for starters, in accordance to UN resolution 242, Israel withdrew from the gaza strip a while ago. The naval blockade was imposed after the withdrawal when they started launching rockets at us. Israel won't leave Gaza alone because they have Gilad Shalit there. If you're going to talk about breaking laws, there is a laundry list of warcrimes and international laws they have breached with the kidnapping and imprisonment of him. How many moves of good faith has hamas EVER made in promotion of peace in the region?
13. j'accuse
tiki ,   belgium   (06.11.10)
It's Dreyfuss all over again. The total hysteria against Israel/Jews is a substitute for all those losers to do something 'usefull with their life. It's spiralling totally out of control, with people who, out of 'sheer madness don't know how to TOP 'yesterday's hysteric protesting mob. They hear the word 'Israel' and go balistic. Compare them to the bull who sees the cloth of the matador, and you understand their IQ.
14. #3 one conclusion- wrong conclusion
Lisa   (06.11.10)
read the latest on the bungled flotilla raid- about the IDF not being informed etc... somebody has a lot of explaining to do now- and it ain't the French...
15. # 12 Perhaps I misunderstood your point, but all that I
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.11.10)
suggest is that Egypt should take over the Gaza Strip, based on discussions and agreements with Israel, and incorporate the Strip to become part of Egypt. Such a move would be clearly based on UN Security Council Resolution 242. Part of such a move would involve the release of Gilad Shalit of course as well as lifting the blockade. But such a move should not permit the free flow of people and goods from Gaza THROUGH Israel.
16. Having placed Dryfus on trial, the French contributed to
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.11.10)
the rise of political Zionism in the 19th century. Now, some of the same French accuse another Jewish military officer, an act that will only strengthen our non-violent (not pacifist, mind you) national liberation movement, Zionism. Historically, we, Jews, have faced much worse by people who would do all that they can to de-legitimize our existence and that of our nation-state of Israel and its ability to defend its sovereignty and the lives of its citizens. We shall overcome this predicament as well...!!
17. Pro-active foreign policy needed-NOW
RayS ,   USA   (06.11.10)
Bibi has kept Israel on a servile (losing) national policy. The country needs to be politically and piblic relations wise PRO-ACTIVE. Example.. Legal action (publicized) should be taken against all groups attacking Israels border blacades. Erdogan should be charged with supporting terrorism and anti-semitism, etc. Just as the American Jewish organizations are acting cowardly in failing to openly stand up to Obama's visibly anti Israel position, so Bibi's government does the same.. It reminds this 86 year old of the lack of courage I saw in the 1930s (in the timid, self centered Jewish community generally)..
18. COUNTERSUE!
Agent 007.5 ,   USA   (06.11.10)
Countersue Turkey and organizers: - Cost to Israel for the entire operation dealing with these activists - Full medical costs including ongoing theraphy for Israeli's injured I'm sure the best pro-Israel legal minds have better strategy.
19. Operating on the demonic
oxo ,   USA   (06.11.10)
Enemies of Israel operate on demonic influence. In numbers and land they outnumber Israel over 99:1 yet can't stop their bullying. It only proves one point -- the evil hoardes vs. God's chosen. Guess who wins...lol
20. french activists sue
moron ,   galut   (06.11.10)
french anti-semites more apt description .....especially for israelis
21. #19 and what IS your point?
Lisa   (06.11.10)
your argument is what? You mean you BELIEVE in this drivel? Reminds me of medieval witch hunts...I guess in your mind we are still in the Dark Ages- maybe you have a point there...
22. sue and harass these groups not 1 day of rest for them
ralph   (06.11.10)
23. israelis
David ,   Canada   (06.12.10)
I am starting to understand why our people have suffered throughout history whether it be by the germans, egyptians, romans. It is because of people like the great majority of israeli jews that people spit on us throughout the world and why god once again will crush our people for being so selfish and more ignorant not only towards humanity but towards our own god. May god helps us real jews out there.
24. peace activists are bringing to Gaza:
Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (06.12.10)

25. What is the basis of their suit? A ruined vacation?
William ,   Israel   (06.12.10)
Sorry guys, but no French nationals were involved in violence nor treated poorly. Only the Turks were involved in the scuffle and they both prepared for it and brought weapons. With the testimony of the Egyptian MP and the captain of the Turkish ship....you pretty much have no case. Next time, plan your vacation to the hot sands of beautiful Darfur...to act as a human shield for Bashir.
26. Man, it must be great to be a lawyer in Europe
William ,   Israel   (06.12.10)
All this blood-money from the racist Leftists floating around, trying to sue anyone they dislike in court, and it gets thrown out pretty easily. The lawyers are paid, shakes their heads at the racist rants of the Leftists, and go home. No court prep at all. Nice life if you can get it.
27. #2, #12 - Israel has right over Gaza per Oslo Accords
William ,   Israel   (06.12.10)
In the Oslo Accords, signed by the PLO, Israel is given the right over Gazan borders, including sea lanes, and air traffic, until such time as Gaza becomes part of a sovereign State. Until a final peace deal is inked, and that won't happen until Hamas ends their terror war and releases Shalit, Israel has full legal rights by the very accords "Palestinians" already agreed to. No backsies!
28. #10:Why am I not surprised that this
Vardina   (06.12.10)
evil comment comes from Australia?
29. #17: Exactly!!!!
