1. lesson, don't trust government
Golan ,   modiin   (06.17.10)
and we need a constitution giving us property rights, homestead, gun rights, and an end of government fingers in our damn lives.
2. oh! 4 goodness sakes get over it!
(06.17.10)
get over it! Life sucks and then you move on... I know because, my parents (born in Poland and Germany) survived the Holocaust moved to Italy and then to the United States. I moved from there to Israel and have lived in three different homes here and I ain't done yet! So really stop moaning and groaning about your lot...learn how to deal with it!
3. Let go of the State Teat already grow up!
I'm just sayin'   (06.17.10)
These people behave as if they are deserving of permanent welfare status! What did they do 4 Israel? Is it really just all about what they think the State should be giving them? Hmmmm.....so they want permanent refugee status who does that sound like?
4. They spat on our soldiers! What do they expect?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.17.10)
Maybe the Government was wrong but even will all the problems created by the Gaza withdrawal we have saved the lives of many of our soldiers and settlers and we don't have to grovel around in the sands of Gaza looking for body parts! However, what can never be forgotten was the cursing, spitting and pouring of acid on our soldiers who are OUR children! Even today the Ultra-Orthodox is following he evacuees example of hurting our policemen and even telling them "I hope you will get cancer!" (Heard on Channel 2 News yesterday). These people should bury their heads in shame! They have cost the country millions of shekels and forget that many Israelis do not have money to by food never mind luxury villas!
5. WHO'S STATE ?
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (06.17.10)
Very naive to expect the same state that destroyed your homes, to take care of you. The same state that allows thousands of rockets to land on its citizens and only playes political games, in order for its own welfare. This state that is an independent entity, that uses words like Democracy and law , but is only interested in its secular Zionist failed doctrine. Detach yourself from the state and rebuild your life, with as little connection to it. Do not even write for this Ynet publication, because they do not give a damn about your plight , but welcome it.
6. Ugly remarks by #2, #3-they lost their farms/land
Pioneers/ #2, #3 ,   San Jose   (06.17.10)
I am shocked at level of ignorance and ugly remarks made by posts. The people in Gush Katif are not Haredim who dont serve army but are Bnei Akivah-Modern Orthodox who wanted to settle land like pioneers which is a Zionist goal. They lost their land/farms and source of income. Yes, it is understandable if their homes/land was taken away that many would not have bounced back. It is hell to restart business/farm after such a cruel uprooting. The dati leumi-religious zionist settlers are very loyal to Israel and serve IDF. I have seen footage of withdrawal and many of them were crying and begging for mercy not spitting. What sick comments were listed. We left Gaza and situation /peace promised never materialized. These men and women of Gaza/Gush Katif are victims of wrong policy.
7. Bagatz violated the peoples "Human Rights" on residence
sam ,   USA   (06.17.10)
Universal Declaration of Human Rights Art. 13(1)" signed by Israel and USA"Everyone has the right of movement and residence within the borders of each state." and Bagatz violated Art. 30 No one can take away these rights
8. Lost their homes
sh   (06.18.10)
Unlike some of the others who lost their homes and go on losing their homes every day, the Gush Katif people will get their compensation. None of them died or was wounded, nests can be rebuilt. In East Jerusalem families are living on the streets, no compensation is envisaged and people have died and go on dying. Lady, stop living in the past. You're one of the lucky ones.
9. Renana Kapach, betrayed....
Jan ,   Sugar Land, Texas   (06.18.10)
I cried when I watched Jews evicting their fellow Jews in 2005, and five years later, I still feel your pain.
10. Grow up, shut up and stop whining about your long lost love
Stop yer whining ,   Gush dan   (06.18.10)
Everbody has their own problems and we're sick and tired of hearing for 5 years moaning about katif. Deal with it and get a life already.
11. empathy for others who lost their homes?
empathy ,   Cambridge, USA   (06.19.10)
Maybe this experience will make these settlers have empathy for the hundreds of arabs who have lost their homes to IDF bulldozers, without any hope of compensation. Somehow, however, I doubt it...
