1. So how long is the kirk gonna turn off its lights for
RJBH ,   Methil   (06.21.10)
the thousands of Palestinian POWs.?? Let there be Light. Free ours we will free yours.
2. Thank you Zurich churches for
Ilana   (06.21.10)
that few minutes of darkness, which is enLIGHTening. Lights should be turned off for gays killed in muslem countries, for women beaten for talking to a male or showing her face, for child brides and for the millions of moslems murdered everywhere by their fellow moslems. They also deserve human rights!!!
3. finally
bob ,   New Zealand   (06.21.10)
give up the vitriolic self-indulgent self-defeating Obama bashing and get into the peaceful protest movement against the ''enemies'' glaringly obvious weak spots. This could really catch on but only if its not hijacked by the American evangelical Christian right who are held in utter contempt by Europeans and people in English speaking countries outside America
4. 1 - why church would show solidarity for islamic terrorists?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (06.21.10)
truly informed and compassionate people who care for fellow human beings generally do not encourage genocidal murderers, whether islamic or not, or those who may support/facilitate them, generally speaking. that's why.
5. bless them for seeing the light. :P
ghostq   (06.21.10)
seriously now, yeah very good idea indeed. may all of the churches join in.
6. to #1 after what the Muslims do the chritians
ghostq   (06.21.10)
in the WB forget it, and Gilad is true innocent one he never killed nobody, so you can demand something that will never happen.
7. #3, sorry but this is not dealing with
rachel ,   chutz4now home soon   (06.21.10)
pacific islanders or torres strait people. you obviously do NOT know how this "light turning off" thing is seen by our "peaceful" surrounding countries. they see it like the joke it is. they say, "so you turn out the lights? the whole world turn out the lights. we know you hate jews as badly as us. leave us to take care of them. we know you fear us."

your comment " he never killed nobody" therefore he must have killed somebody...according to your statment.
9. to #8 oops, you know what I meant
ghostq   (06.21.10)
he killed nobody. I am tired sheesh, don't you nag me too, usually I get it right, but lack of sleeping, there should be a sleeping law. anyway las thanks for the correction.
10. # 3 Contempt
Madeleine ,   Israel   (06.21.10)
You know the mindset of every non-American, English-speaking person?
11. #1 POWs
Madeleine ,   Israel   (06.21.10)
Pali POWs are sitting in Israeli jails and get all the rights - and more - accorded them under the Geneva Convention. Gilad is not a POW, hw was kidnapped - bit of a difference - and he gets no rights whatsoever. Not even Red Cross visits, let alone books, tv, family visits egc. etc. Oh and BTW, what does it say for Arab value oflife if you demand "thousands" of your POWs in return for just one Israeli soldier? Oh I forget, you place no value on life at all. All you lot can glorify is death, death and more death.
12. #7 I'm talking about winning hearts and
bob ,   New Zealand   (06.22.10)
minds in the worldwide PR war which currently depicts Hamas as the under-dogs. I'm not talking about freeing Shalit. Obviously Hamas would laugh just as you say -thats the whole point...if they laugh then they lose PR points worldwide and if they dont then they lose PR points with fellow muslim extremists
13. Israel can do something if they really wanted to
sherri ,   Fort Lauderdale, Fl   (06.23.10)
If Israel would turn the lights out for one day in Gaza, you want to see how fast Gilad would be coming home?
14. #1 They are not Prisoners of War. They are TERRORISTS!!!
Judith ,   Israel   (06.24.10)
They have killed tens of Israeli sitizens' and was convicted by a Court. And still the rad cross cam come and check their conditions, their relatives also can come to visit them many times. Gilad however was kidnapped from the territory of Israel (in 167 boundaries) and still we didn't see anything pf him, we don't know in what conditions he is so please stop your "Hit and Cry" strategy. It is disgusting!
