I support the idea.

Richard Clarke's new book "Cyber War" shows how the more advanced countries, like the US and Israel, will suffer the greater damage in a cyber exchange given how "wired" they are. Critical infrastructure like the power grids, air traffic and transportation, banking and commerce, could all be brought down. Clarke counts Israel among those with notable offensive capabilities. Indeed, he suggests the attack on the Syrian nuclear facility in 2007 included a cyber shutdown of Syrian defenses. But Israel also needs to defend its own assets against attack from Syria, Iran and their agents.

I was under the impression Israel had a offensive Cyber Unit that could be used aggressively if needed against other terrorist groups and also countries. Most countries are already developing that capacity. Is the israeli defense establishment that far behind in technological. As a person who had been in the High Tech field for 30 years I'm shocked. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
5. Luckily the enemy has Ha'aretz reporters
Danny   (06.23.10)
who steal secret documents, no need for "sophisticated" hacking....
6. spam

given Israel's notoriety in the fields of Internet Spam, porn and fraud, I suppose a few new hires won't hurt.
7. Gary MacKinnon
John McArdle ,   Edinburgh U.K.   (06.24.10)
Please hire Gary MacKinnon, who is wanted by the US for successfully hacking into the Pentagon in search of evidence for UFO's! I have always thought that instead of locking him up for 60 years as the US prosecutors would wish, the US Government should have thanked him for exposing their weaknesses in the IT regard and hired him in order to better protect it, since he is not an "enemy". Perhaps Israel could take him? He would be a great asset!
