1. A brave young couple
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (07.14.10)
whom I wish all happiness and long life.
2. Mazal tov!!
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (07.14.10)
I wish them the very best of luck. These artificial barriers among people are dumb and frustrating. I live in an Arab country; yet, being Jewish, I can't even think about marrying one of the local women (unless I converted to Islam of which there is zero chance). People should follow their hearts and minds, not history, religion, customs and all the other crock whose only purpose are division, isolation and, ultimately, enmity.

7. #3 What race...?
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (07.14.10)
Don't you think that the concept of RACES is a bit outdated...?!! That "races" should not mix is the main topic of all racists...
8. Had respect for her in beginning of article
Nour ,   Palestine   (07.14.10)
until she (or ynet) began the nonsense of Sderot and the Arab food she mistakens for Israeli food. I mean she (or ynet) could have won some credibility had they mentioned the plight of thr Palestinians and the injustices we face since the advent of European Zionism. Its as if all she can see is her lover and his reality. This woman is ashamed of her people and cultue hence she is lost deep in ennemy territory. Well, her passion for the Jewish boy will eventually fade and she will realize her mistake all too late. She will be treated like a second degree citizens just like all other Arabs in the illegal entity. What about the 1,400 people murdered by Israel 1.5 yrs ago? Zalga, prepare to return to Holland where u belong obviously you have no understanding of the area.

15. zalga
(07.14.10)
you are not only a beautiful woman, but smart and open, idealistic and peaceful. may all your arab family back home be like you are today. most arabs and europeans that have never visited israel (i as a muslim from iran that lives in los angeles visited israel this year. it was beautiful and very true what you said about that country). it is free and the people are wonderful. do not believe all the arab and palestinian propaganda and lies. israel is not an apartheir, not an opressive country. israel is the best thing that landed in the middle east and i wish other arab nations and iran take a good look at its sucess and freedom. hameed aboughaze, iranian
16. to zalga and her husband
(07.14.10)
i wish many happy moments together. salam, shalom and prosperity together. the man's jewish parents will accept the union at the end and all the children from this union. on the other hand, i doubt her parents will change minds. arab minds are very closed. good luck to the both of you in your life together. hameed aboughaze, iranian
17. # 2 ,...
split ,   usa   (07.14.10)
What chances would you have with your Syrian fiance to get married in Israel or to immigrate and being accepted there? ---------------------- I live in an Arab country; yet, being Jewish, I can't even think about marrying one of the local women (unless I converted to Islam of which there is zero chance).
18. Wake up girl,...
split ,   usa   (07.14.10)
His parents aren't any better than yours - Stay away from segregated busses and ogood luck to both of you,... --------------------- "Matthew's parents were very nice to me in the beginning, but after they realized that my family didn't accept him, they began to oppose the relationship themselves...
19. Mazal tov!!
Yaeli ,   Tel Aviv   (07.14.10)
Wishing you both many blessings and a great deal of fun as you build your life together. Hope they'll consider aliyah :) And our foreign ministry needs to hire this young woman. What an excellent ambassador she would make!
20. she has nice legs
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (07.14.10)
wish the couple the best of luck... should come visit Nazareth
21. #12
(07.14.10)
apparently even considering her age, she saw enough of both israel and arab countries to convince her to adopt israel rather than your muslim nations. i think she is too smart for you. she sees through the propaganda, my friend, because she has traveled to the other, more humane side, israel. she loves it there and no matter how you try to convince her with your historical lies and revisionist historical accounts, she still sees the truth in the land of the jews. it may bother you, but she sees reality for what it is in muslim nations and the beauty that israel is. too bad for you. i truely believe more syrians will be shocked to see the difference between their oppressive country and israel, but they are kept, like this girl said, in a prison of their own. a prison of despotism, hate, racism and revenge attitudes. just like you are. i pity you. hameed aboughaze, iranian
22. Conversion is the answer
Izzy ,   NYC   (07.14.10)
Encourage her conversion to Judiasim
23. #16, her Kurdish family will take her back
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (07.14.10)
give them time. They may be afraid for the lives of their relatives left behind in the Kurdish Kamishli town, if this becomes known. Maybe this is the reason why they objected, but time will heal. Her name is not Arabic at all but Kurdish.
24. #21 and I am Proud to both of you
Janet Pineda S. ,   Wisconsin USA   (07.14.10)
I totally agree with #21, a very fact! that, anybody who is in denial, of freedom for yourself and to the people you care and love, is closing the door, to a privilege and respect of life. I pray you find peace, always and courage to keep it on. For you and the next generation to come. Thank you for setting example, for those who is unfortunate of giving the blessing and understanding for the future generation to come. May God Bless you both!
25. #20
(07.14.10)
i like your attitude rami. i wish more of the israeli arab population will think like you do; open minded and accepting and loyal to the israeli state. zoabi should never represent the israeli arab citizens. never. she doesn't have your best interests at heart.
26. 12: The man from Londistan doesn't get it
David ,   Dallas   (07.14.10)
"they stil occupy part of what used to be your country". Really, when would that be? Here's a little history lesson for you: 1) Ottoman Empire 2) Levant broken into British Mandate Palestine and French Mandate Syria 3) Syria rejected UNR181 granting Jews the same rights Muslims got in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, and invaded Israel 4) Syria controlled part of Israel from '48 to '67 5) Israel now controls part of Syria in the same, continuing war, started by Syria 6) Israel has offered peace and the Syria land back 7) Syria rejects peace and demands not only the land on its side of the int'l border, but the land it illegally captured from Israel Read your history. When aggressors lose wars, they lose land. Unless, of course, the people defending themselves are Jews. Then Mat thinks we have no rights.
27. #8 Nour, try to see beyond your obsession
Irene ,   USA   (07.14.10)
This woman had the chance to live in a European country and to learn parts of history that are denied to those who live in an oppressive Arab culture. She had never heard of the Holocaust or of Israel. She had never experienced equality of the sexes and personal freedom. How could anyone have the right point of view with such ignorance? As a woman you should be a little more concerned with the thousands of women who are murdered in honor killings all over the world, about their lack of freedom, their subjugation to fathers, husbands, and brothers, and their inability to make use of their intellectual talents. You should also be more concerned with the thousands of men and women who are jailed, tortured and executed for just speaking out against their governments. This obsession with Israel among non-Jews is downright unhealthy. If you are a compassionate and caring person, then expand the scope of your interests and see more of the suffering going on in the world, irrespective of religion or race. Gaza and the PA are not ideal societies and there is a lot you could be doing to help those suffering from oppression by their own people, particularly women.
28. to 23, once again, she is NOT kurdish, she is christian
hast   (07.15.10)
she is not Kurdish, her family is not Kurdish and kamishli is not a kurdish town. She is christian.
29. I enjoyed your story, Zalga. You are
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (07.15.10)
one of the unusual ones who have seen beyond the limitations of your own culture and, at the expense of family ties, have continued the process of self-liberation. I am pleased for both you and your new husband. The only question I have is regarding the pizza in Israel. I never found a pizza that I liked. Now where have you been consuming yours?
30. Congratulations
Matteo Lima ,   Rome, Italy   (07.15.10)
Congratulations Israel! You are getting legitimacy from a confused 23 year old.
