31. Obviously the parents of Jewish guy was turned off
Yaniv ,   Israel   (07.15.10)
by the fact that the parents of the Arab girl were so anti-Jew that they saw no future for good relations between the two families, as it's very important for Jews that in-laws get along well and become one great big family, which the Arab parents made impossible.
32. 12. Israel is the only country in the ME with Human Rights
Truth   (07.15.10)

Thank You... M. S.
35. It is sad to start off a marriage being cast off by one's
Rivkah   (07.15.10)
families. There was an objection to my mother's marriage, too, from the father of her husband because they were first cousins and he would not attend the wedding. That brings a curse and it is better to marry someone approved by the families or to break it off. That is not what young couples want to hear since they think rebellion is a happy road. It is not. It is a very rocky road. Life is hard enough when people are happy for you to get married. It is shockingly difficult when the doors are closed. No grandmas to babysit. The children grow up feeling something is missing from their lives and wondering what and who they are since they don't have relatives like other children. If she is not pregnant, they should consider an anullment. Oil and water don't mix well. Opposites attract and then repel.
36. A naive spoiled girl
Khalid ,   The Netherlands   (07.15.10)
This is an example of a naive spoiled girl who hasn't yet grasped the realities of Israel and zionism. She does not yet realize that official Israel will reject her on the account of her not being Jewish. Moreover she can do well to visit one of the Israeli army checkpoints on the occupied territories and see for herself Israeli democracy in full action. Moreover, she herself will experience Israeli democracy (again in full action) once she or any of her future kids will try to enjoy the rights and freedoms she claims she had at last found in Israel. The first thing she will be asked for in such a situation is to go through the proctracted and painful process of conversion. At least in Syria no one is asked to convert before one can enjoy one's basic rights. To her, I would say wake up and get real you spoiled naive little girl
37. Christians from Arab countries
F, Amsterdam ,   The Netherlands   (07.15.10)
In general, we Christians from Arab countries are not so antisemitic as her parents. However, many Christians from Arab countries have the same customs as the Arab Muslims (terrorists) like adhering to honor killing like her parents. I feel very similar to this girl. I left Iraq when I was six and arriving here in Holland I immediately concluded that I came from a backward society. Israel: thank you for existing.
38. #4 you forgot to add..but not as bigoted
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (07.15.10)

Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (07.15.10)
40. Mazal Tov? Have you all gone crazy?
Yos ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.15.10)
This poor Jewish guy married a non-Jew and cut the chain of generations! This is a tragedy!!!
41. #8 Congratulations to Zalga and Matthew
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.15.10)
Please ignore Nour who swollowed a bitter pill because her family ran away from Israel in '48. The poor woman salivates over Israeli accomplishment. She forgets 20% of Israel's population is Arab and over 50% of Israel's population consists of Jews from Arab lands who brought their ME culture and recipes with them. Nour pushes the "poor" Palestinian myth and conveniently forgets her Palestinian brothers fired thousands of missiles at Israel before Israel declared war. I wish you both much happiness and a bright future together.
42. who knew, he looks like the syrian
ghostq   (07.15.10)

45. another hole in syrian / islamic puffed paradise
Gary   (07.15.10)
And she is one in millions...! Only a fool does not realise that there can NEVER be a life with the muslim world. Brainwashed since childhood, worthless parents, less than worthless leaders; actually criminals (followers of gods to match), these children grow up in a environment described accurately in their cursed koran --- subdue, convert, surrender or die. With it's thousand and one mosques, minarets, Europe is well on it's way. For now, the white flag is used temporarily until the 'crescent' replaces it. At this point in time, unless there is a drastic change in US leadership / policies, there will be no escape...!I hope that Israel is capable of standing fast. Between a meek Govt, a group of haredim bent on enforcing their dogma with force, on a citizenship too busy inventing new pills, new gadgets, new " born stars" on TV,and beat the arabs to the best falafel in the world,; there will be some time left and wisdom to spare to guide the ship to a safe and permanent berth.
46. To you, Nour
Gary   (07.15.10)
You are a pathetic figure representing the muslim world at his "best". Whith thousands of Assads, millions of mothers, fathers with the same upbringing , it cannot be otherwise.
47. Sour grapes Khalid #36.
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (07.15.10)
48. #36 I guess in real life is different from Islamic
ghostq   (07.15.10)
propeganda because she want to stay. you see Khalid Arabs r part of Israeli society, and there they enjoy the freedom they don't have in arab nations. there you live in tyrany.
49. to #37 you know I got friends from arab countries
ghostq   (07.15.10)
the chritians suffer there in silent, but it is very shamful how people r being treated, they got no freedom to think as they please, they r all walking zombies, and their leaders counting on them not knowing, hatred comes from unknowing and the problem they don't want to know.
50. # 8
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.15.10)
Nour is a male living far away from Gaza.
51. # 36
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.15.10)
Nowhere in this article does it say this girl wants to convert or intends to remain in israel. She is here for a visit & thats all.
52. sorry #36 u r sooooo wrong
none of your biz   (07.15.10)
i, personally, having the experience 100 percent, cannot agree with your statement "no one is asked to convert before one can enjoy one's basic rights." can u please elaborate a bit. i didn't really understand that statement. and what to you are "ONE"S BASIC RIGHT??" u saying that anyone non jew coming to israel cannot enjoy basic rights unless they are a jew??? u must have NEVER been to israel, but then again israel wouldn't want people like you here anyway.
53. well said #41...
alex ,   d.c. usa   (07.15.10)
like like like
54. it looks, walks, and talks like a propaganda b.s
Ahmad ,   Nablus   (07.15.10)
at the age of 11 she can recall all of these political and socio-economical issues in Syria? she is even a women's right activist without she knew it? wow. this piece of "news" item fists very well in the PR page of the IDF not on a newspaper! to mary a jew from Holland, as an Arab, is nothing wroing with it, making all these pleasant statements on a state that was founded on the demise of her own bretherns and their suffering, is a totally another thing, if this woman shows anything, she shows how stupid and self hating Arab (whatever left in her) she is. I give Ynet A for effort, F for result, indeed, makes me sick
55. where in the article mentioned she is Muslim
observer   (07.15.10)
Judged by geography, she is Assyrian. Assyrians are not Muslims, they are Christians with a minority of them Evangelicals and Jews. Put it the other way round; if she was Jew converted to Islam, she would still be Jew and her children be Jew according to Jewish Halaka. What is freedom of religion here which is forced even on siblings? hypocrites!
56. #40 - Yes Mazal Tov!
Martin ,   Johannesburg, SA   (07.15.10)
I also know a "poor jewish guy" who married a non-jew and supposedly "cut the chain of generations", as you say. Oh wait a minute: Her name was Ruth.
57. Syrian
debbie ,   israel   (07.15.10)
TO MAT, UK Mat, give it a rest already. Your opinion is old and tired. You're lucky Israel doesn't "occupy" all of Syria, including Damascus. After all, Syria brutally attacked Israel, and Israel ended up not only repelling them, but taking over an area, which the Syrians used to constantly fire at Israelis along the border who were farming their land. Serves the Syrians right, and Israel should never give up any piece of land that will again enable Syria to use to attack Israel. They are warmongers and cannot be trusted. They are also being financed by Iran, to war against Israel.
58. when I visited Israel I had no problem
ghostq   (07.15.10)
what so ever, everyone were nice to me, and I hope by next may I will be able to give a visit, it was really fun, just need to get more money to travel, but I know many chritians who perminante residences and they have all the freedom they want. I talked to one old guy he used to live in the baptise village (he was boren in Israel), he went to Thechnological public high school, I am not sure about his Army service though, anyway talking to him was nice.
59. Reply
Mike Shaffer ,   Prescott USA   (07.15.10)
"G-d hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth". Acts 17:26. Pauls sermon on Mars Hill Athens
60. Syrian President
observer   (07.15.10)
The constitution requires the president to be a Muslim, but does not make Islam the state religion. President Assad is Alawi, but are Alawis Muslims? Alawis for Muslims are like Messianic Jews for Jews.
