1. Finally, the world realizes that Arab Gaza should be
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.15.10)
part of the Arab world, including the receipt of assistance from it if and when necessary, and the doing so through Egypt, the Arab state that borders on Gaza. There is no reason on earth why Israel, Gaza's enemy, should be the provider of the territory and its Islamist rulers with water, electricity, fuel, food, medicine, hardware and other supplies which Israel has been doing for years, including while it had to absorb rockets launched at its citizens form Gaza. And on a long term basis, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 242, Gaza should become part of Egypt, as intended in the first place.
2.  hope the money is not at the expense of Poor Libyan
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.15.10)
First Mr.Saif, ask your father to respect the Palestinians who is temporarily living in Libya and not expel them into the desert, then we'll believe that you are keen to offer all support to Palestinians!
3. oh poor poor palis they get millions
ghostq   (07.15.10)
and they whine they don't get nothing, this is the proff that palis r not poor or needy they whine alot, to get attantion when they don't get attantion they will either start riots rockets or hurting Israelis just to get attantion "poor me" don't work anymore. even Muslim nations start to wake to bitter reality that too much money in one direction go to palis but not one cent to the people, oh goody that is enough to riot against their own leaders.
4. $50m LMAO
Zvi   (07.15.10)
Putting it into perspective, how much has Libya promised to the UNRWA and to the PA, and then failed to make payment? Is $50M a down payment? Also putting this into perspective, foreign aid to the PA is well in excess of $1 billion. The "evil anti-Arab" US provides hundreds of millions of dollars annually to the PA. And finally, the UNRWA is a political farce. The job that the UNRWA purportedly does for the Palestinians is done FAR more efficiently, for all refugees in the world except for Palestinian ones, by the UNHCR. The UNRWA should be eliminated and the Palestinians should be (respectfully and humanely) treated like all of the other refugee populations since World War 2, and like the Jewish refugees from the Arab world (whom Ghaddafi's father robbed and persecuted, which is why there are no Jews left in Libya): accept that they have left their country of origin, resettle them where they are or in willing third countries, and close the books. Why are Palestinian refugees special? Darfurian, Somali, Indian, Pakistani, Yemeni, Iraqi, Syrian, Burmese, Bosnian, etc. refugees don't receive special treatment. Why should Palestinian ones?
5. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi is a COWARD may only transfer money to

8. "Do you want the grapes or to kill the vineyard's guard?"
Zvi   (07.15.10)
(That statement, at least, shows more wisdom than 90% of the Arab world has shown for 60 years)
9. They're just 'up the road' from the Sudan where
kate b ,   uk   (07.15.10)
people have lost all their Human Rights, are actually starving and all in the name of Islamic fundamentalism. Since Libya has a place on the UNHRC then I'm sure they won't mind the goods being diverted there and make the Sudan central to its campaign for human rights, or does text adherent Islamic fundamentalist terror and stripping of HR not count because it is all for the cause of the Ummah?
10. Saif's misadventure
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (07.15.10)
Are we supposed to believe that the purpose of the Libyan voyage was to open a channel to funnel money into Gaza? This possibility is highly unlikely. More likely, Saif found himself on the wrong side of elder Qaddafi’s wrath and was desperate for anything to blunt the embarrassment he caused the family. Saif was successful in focusing some attention to this PR stunt. He focused enough attention that he will not be able to convince the people that matter (his father) that his adventure is anything other than what it obviously is; a huge flop. What does this mean in the end? It means it is unlikely Saif will rise to power to in Libya. It means he may have driven the final nail in the flotilla farce. It also means that he is on the hook for $50 Million. On the bright side, at least he didn’t get anybody killed.
11. Tayfun from Turkey
David ,   USA /ISRAEL /EGYPT   (07.15.10)
You are correct , he made the Turks look awful bad. LOL
12. #1 "Arab Gaza"
Doug ,   Rochester,USA   (07.15.10)
1. Pals are not Egyptians, they are Pals. Some have lived there a long time, but the rest are refugees from what is now Israel who fled from the atrocities commited during the 1948 war. 2. Gaza does not want to be part of Egypt and Egypt does not want Gaza. 3. Resolution 242 does not say that Gaza should be part of Egypt. 4. If you are so concerned about the enforcement of Resolution 242, why do you not also call for Israel to withdraw their forces from W. Bank, E. Jeruselam, Gaza air and sea space, Golan Heights, Sheba Farms?
13. Dear #12
SomeGuy ,   Israel   (07.15.10)
I agree, Gaza should not be part of Egypt and no one wants that to happen. About the other things, no and no. The Golan Heights where won in a war and you have to be stupid to say Israel wanted that war. Like almost every war in history the winner takes some land from the looser and thus countries think twice before going to war for they can lose land by doing so. By saying to withdraw forces from air and sea I'm guessing you mean to stop the blockade. And really for what? To let a Hamas led country will be more free to do its open will to destroy Israel and exterminate all Jews? Would they be a democracy they would be free to hold weapons like the democratic palatines are doing in the west bank. East Jerusalem and west bank, really you think countries act in goodwill? That would be a stupid political way to act. What Israel is doing is saving it for now as a bargain card so we can control that a Palestinian state will not be Hamas fascist but rather democratic and have no army so it will not do wars. Giving them all now what they want will lead to them doing what they want: War + death for all.
14. UN Security Council Resolution 242 has been the basis for...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.15.10)
... all peace talks and actual agreement between the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel, and its Muslim-Arab neighbors. Indeed, all relevant parties to the Arab Israeli conflict have accepted it. 242 expects Israel to withdraw its armed forces from "territories", not from all of them, to secure and recognized boundaries. Israel has done so with regard to Gaza between the years 1994 and 2005. 242 does not mention even once the need to set up an additional state in the region, not once! 242, furthermore, does not mention even once concepts such as "Palestine" or "Palestinians", not once! 242 assumes the parties to the June 1967 Six-Day War will resolve their differences by Israel evacuating "territories" and Jordan in the case of the West Bank and Egypt in the case of Gaza will take over those territories. It is especially right that this should be the case in light of the fact that the coalition of Muslim-Arab states - Egypt-Jordan-Syria - initiated that war; and more specifically it was Egypt that did so by closing international waterways to Israel, removing UN troops from Sinai and moving into it armed forces in quantities and quality not permitted and designed to attack the Jewish state of Israel. Thus, it is high time Egypt assumed its responsibility and took over the Gaza Strip based on an agreement with Israel and with the support of the international community.

17. To: Jehudah at No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.15.10)
What a delightful prospect! Israel hermetically seals its border with Gaza, and allows Egypt to acquire the headache. I love it. How long do you think THAT would last?
18. Libya to funnel
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (07.15.10)

Ross ,   USA   (07.15.10)
It is the truth and no laughing matter. Firstly Fatah is very wealhy gettng billons from the USA.Even from Israel. While UNRAW pumps more into teior coffers.Do ther math, multiply and gee they are nearly billioners in the making. Is this a joke too far,or what? Meantime Gadafi's son is introduced to the scene and on the WORLD STAGE.Sham? yes positively so. Even the 50.million if it is supposed needed (like hell) if needed A DROP IN THE OCEAN either way. And there the Darfurians go abegging while starving dieing from hunger.Somaliians resorting to Piracy ... The moment the rat Arafat decided giving them the FAKE nomenclature as "Palestinians" thery have been living off the world's begging bowl for nigh on 30+ years.. Who is to blame? The Arab/Muslims. We never hear S.Arbia (the richest) giving anything do we? So,Libya thinks they are above the law, will gain favor from the USA? Are they so desperate? or recognition acceptance for passed mistakes in their terroristic advanturism? advanturism.
