2,000 years ago stoning was the traditional Jewish method, yes. But nowhere in the world TODAY do Jews stone people to death.

You are now trying to use the Torah to justify Islamic retribution [justice] ? To stone or not to stone. Maybe crucifiction is better. 10 out of 10 jihadis prefere beheadings. observer says that it is ok for Iran to stone women to death because even the Jews allow for stoning of adulterous women. Tell us o' obsevant one when and where was the last time Jews have had a woman stoned to death. Don't know? Possibly a trip to the library? It is the norm for you, observant, to jump at every chance to make a fool of yourself. This is not news to anyone here that is familiar with your shallow comprehension of history, politics, religion [even your own] or even human nature. So your purpose is to raise the age old accusation of accusations, the Jews [Jews killed Jesus] that "wanted Jesus removed from the picture wanted the Romans to execute the punishment so they [the jews] did not look like they [the Jews] were involved". Wow ! You observed this from your perch at the public library? No? You read it in a book? You observed this in real time? No, probably not. Maybe it was an op-ed in the Philistine Gazette. You don't take that stuff seriously do you observant one? Stick to what your pathetic little mind can wrap itself around. You know, like the idea that there is such a thing as a nation of people called Palestinians. The history books say no. Instead of wasting your time posing as a scholar of Jewish Law, spend some time at your local public library if it is located in a legitimate country that has freedom of speech. Sorry, the one at your madrassa doesn't. count.

The Jewish rulership did not have the legal ability to stone during this specific time in history. Maybe people might have done so illegally, however it was still on the way out 2,000 years ago.

39. How can we not violate Torah and criticise?
Josh   (07.18.10)
It is after all what Moses said G-d wanted from us for such sin. Just because we are now in a world that allows this type of sin, can we point at them or us as evil and by so doing are we choising sides against Moses and G-d? She knew the consequences unlike modern world societies who are in full knowlege there will be no punishment from society, she and the man who had sex with here knew they could die for cheating. One needs to really work hard in a shariah society to pull off adultry. Its a different society than what we all know. So is a society of broken families, divorce and cheating with mentally unstable children growing into unruly adults doing better or worse? We should take adultry more serious in western society. As it is most uncomfrtable for me to admit or whether I could create such a law, this is what our Torah instructs. I didn't write the laws' but it is what it is. If we can kill war criminals for sins, how does the destruction of a family compare in the outcome of society.

If they do it to their own for insignificant offenses imagine how they will terrorize the entire Middle East, Turkey included, once they obtain nuclear weapons.
41. #17 - Inquisition ended over a 100 years ago
Amy ,   Denver USA   (07.19.10)
Seriously? You're going to try to compare this to the Inquisition (something that took place in FAR LESS enlightened times)? I agree that the Catholic Church (more than a century ago) was guilty of putting innocent people to death in the name of religion, but they do not do it today. The Catholic faith has evolved. Islam has NOT. It is an abhorrent faith that uses claims of Allah's will and law to commit vicious crimes against humanity in the year 2010 NOT 1810. Get with the times brother - this is about Islam and Iran, not Catholics!
