Just because the USA actions in Afghanistan ( and Iraq) haven't been investigated does not mean that they shouldn't be - or that by extension they are wise or legal. The UK is only now investigating its involvement in Iraq and coming to the conclusion its rationalle for going to war ( and by extension then its actions there) were illegal. No civilians killed or wounded, no property damage, no infrastructure touched, and heaven help you if any harm comes to a journalist or foreigner present in that war zone. It will always be safer for an army to use bombs to clear an area than soldiers but different in civilian death could be great. This argument come down to the risk an army is willing to take verse the number of civilian deaths it will cost.
