Lets call the 4 rockets of today -- the Goldston rockets
2. Palestinians killing peace process
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (07.25.10)
Face it, folks. There will never be a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians so long as Hamas is in power. Israel has nothing to do with this. It is 100% a Palestinian problem. Unless the international community suddenly grows a conscience, the problem will be with us for decades to come. Or, the international community can finally put pressure on Hamas to: -declare it will negotiate peace with Israel -revokes its policies of violence against civilians That's really not too much to ask, since the Palestinian Authority previously agreed to both terms. So it's simply the international community telling Hamas to honor the commitments the PA previously signed. It ain't gonna happen. The Palestinians are screwed in the short term. Who knows what will be in the long term. No matter how many flotillas there are, no matter how many boycott calls - it won't make a difference. Hamas does not want peace. Fatah cannot sign a deal without Gaza. The killing will go on.

If you are going to rely on a god you may as well pack up now. Why is it when bad things occur it is the free will exercised by human beings but the smallest positive is always the result of interjection by god. Rubbish
6. to mr. cohen, and everybody else.
edward ,   usa   (07.25.10)
do you know that russia and japan does not have a peace treaty because of Kurile Islands Dispute and do not send rocket to each other anyway. Why israel need that piece of paper singed by so to say palestinians? I wish you to get real and understand what is going on. .
7. And still you do nothing?
Howie ,   Montreal   (07.25.10)
You ask us to support you, to buy your bonds, to pay for trees in Israel, to send you ambulances and when Hamas fires missiles and mortars from Gaza into Israel, you do nothing. I don't understand you. Do you want to survive or what? What part of self-defense do you not understand? The world thinks you're the bad guy whether you defend yourself or not. So, what's stopping you from defending yourselves? You're the only country that lets a bordering area fire missiles and mortars into your country without responding. My question is: Why? did David and Solomon worry about what some other nations thought when they defended Israel and Judea? That's why people remember David and Solomon and no one will remember Olmert and Netanyahu the way he's going.
8. Hamas Will Pay The Price - As Usual
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (07.25.10)
You have to give Hamas credit where credit is due for being absolute brain-dead morons. Not only will Israel retaliate but Hamas will never see a penny of reconstruction money as the donors well know that Israel will hit back every time these idiots shell Israel.

11. Did you all miss the part about "weeks of relative calm"
lara ,   Australia   (07.25.10)
3 days ago the IDF opened fire killing 2, and injuring 8. 2 days ago the IDF killed a Palestinian in the West Bank. Unlike the IDF, Hamas rockets aren't killing people. The IDF seem to be the ones provoking these attacks not the other way around.

13. Terrorist groups can only win, if you let them.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.25.10)
Their entire strategy relies on drawing you into a conflict, on the understanding that you won't have the nerve to really crush them. If you do crush them, the conflict goes away. But if you try to be Mr. Nice Guy, the terrorists now have you hook, line and sinker. If you restrain yourself, you'll be involved in endless little fights, dying the death of a thousand cuts, until the terrorists and their international backers successfully replace you with a Pro-Appeasement government. And if you recognize the terrorists and make concessions to them, you'll be up to your neck in terror. More at : http://xrl.us/biz8x

civilian houses r not defending but attempt murder, it's been going on 9 years the blokad is only 3 years. they got no excusses for tring killing innocent padestrians.
17. To 11 You do realize this is attempted murder?
The Dude   (07.25.10)
In any court today, I could go sue, and without a doubt in my mind as this definitely a case of attempted murder. And in regard to the 2 palestinians killed in Gaza earlier? http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3923258,00.html "Palestinian sources confirmed that a rocket launching cell had been active in the area. " From that story, these were people attempting to target civilian, legitimate target. Complete lack of context on your part. http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?ID=182204 "IDF troops shot and killed a Palestinian attempting to infiltrate the settlement of Barkan in the West Bank early Thursday morning." You mean this guy this wasn't innocent too and trying to break into a town and kill people? "Unlike the IDF, Hamas rockets aren't killing people. " Yes, if you put the situation completely devoid of context. But the fact is that in both cases you have listed, the IDF was completely justified, because these terrorists were in the process of committing a crime that could have killed innocent civilians. "The IDF seem to be the ones provoking these attacks not the other way around. " Completely illogical. Part part of value and purpose of these rockets, is to be able to attack from a distance Israeli positions (i.e. civilian towns) without exposing yourself. A "provoked' attack would generally be a gunfight when soldiers approach a target. Not a week long planned rocket strike with carefully designated launching positions and well-thought out targets. This is a sign of pre-planning and intention, provocation is a reactionary case. Please take more time to consider what you write before you write it.
18. Lara and the pro-Pal propaganda lies
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (07.25.10)
Lara says "Hamas rockets aren't killing people. " Of course they are. 15 people have been killed by Hamas and Islamic Jihad rockets. Lara wants to pretend that the rockets are "firecrackers". They aren't. They are war crimes (Goldstone said so, not me). Instead of stopping the rockets, Lara simply lies and pretends that there is no problem. Maybe she went and listened to the Palestinain mouthpiece Dianna Buttu who was in Aussiland last week. I wonder if she told them the same propaganda - that kassam rockets have no warheards. Lara - are you volunteering to hold a warhead while we set it off to prove that the rockets don't kill? Fortunately, the people of the world are not that stupid. Funny how Lara says that the IDF "provoked" Hamas into committing a war crime. Kind of like blaming Aussies Aborigines for not simply walking into the sea with Lara's occupation settler ancestors arrived in Aussieland. "Relative calm" also includes hundreds of rock throwing and molotov cocktails in the west bank. Again, Lara is invited to demonstrate these are non lethatl while we throw them at her.
19. Sderot; the biggest human shield project in Israel's history
observer   (07.25.10)
Sderot is built on the lands of Najd, a Palestinian village ethnically cleansed by Jewish militia in 1948. It was home to about seven hundred people, most of them small farmers. Two days before the declaration of the State of Israel – that is, on May 13th – Haganah forces expelled the inhabitants. Its residents fled into the Gaza strip. Sderot population of 19,300 is mostly Mizrahi, the community is formed from 87% Morrancans & 11 % Kurds. The Mizrahim who arrived in Israel ended up in agricultural work, 10-12 hours a day in conditions of disease and squalor. Their high death rate was explained by one Zionist official as a “common and natural thing”. Today Mizrahim constitute around 50% of the Israeli population. Palestinian Arabs make up another 20%, so the total non-European population is about 70%. Mizrahim were spatially marginalized by the Israeli settlement project, whether in the isolated periphery or in poor and stigmatized neighbourhoods of Israel’s major cities. This has limited their potential economic, social, and cultural participation. The closest ever stolen Palestinian land that can be approached by Palestinian landowners' weapons makes Sderot the biggest ever human shield project in history.
20. #17- pick one, to be murdered or to be attempted murdered.
lara ,   Australia   (07.25.10)
read the article from a different perspective... 4 of the 8 injured are children. http://www.imemc.org/article/59172_1279801673 "designated launching positions and well-thought out targets" That argument would make sence if the article you refer to didn't state that they (Palestinians) were "approaching the boarder fence". Were they aiming rockets while walking along? Sounds difficult don't you think... As for the Palestinian from West Bank, was he armed? No. Shoot first, ask questions later... lovely philosophy.
21. IRON DOME DOES NOT WORK! it is just tested
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (07.25.10)
22. Dear Lara
Ram ,   London   (07.25.10)
You seem to think the Palis entertain the Israelis with fireworks displays, as a goodwill gesture, while the horrible Israelis, instead of thanking them, are brutal towards them. You are facing two possible problems here, either of which is terribly embarassing for you. 1-. Either you have been brainwashed by some Palis with this warped mindset or 2-. you are actually one of them. This is a typical example of why peace has been and will always be illusive between Israel and the Palis, as long as this state of mind exists within the Pali population.
23. #18.. 27 have been killed by rocket attacks since 2001
lara ,   Australia   (07.25.10)
This figure includes civilians & IDF casualties. Let's change this a little.... "Kind of like blaming Palestinians for not simply walking into the sea when Brian's occupation settler parents arrived in Palestine." Isn't that what you're comparing Australia to in your attempt to insult me? BTW, my ancestors aren't Australian, they're Palestinian. And i didn't say they were non-lethal, I was simply drawing a comparison to Israels use of force and the rocket attacks which do not kill or injure anyone (except on very rare occassion). I would rather stand before Hamas launching rockets then below an IDF air strikes any day of the week.
24. To 20 thats your source? Well I guess I get to use Foxnews!
The Dude   (07.25.10)
Ahahahahaha, you are completely brainwashed. But now onto your point. "read the article from a different perspective... 4 of the 8 injured are children. http://www.imemc.org/article/59172_1279801673" Here's another perspective. INTERNATIONAL LAW, 4th Geneva Conventions: http://www.icrc.org/ihl.nsf/FULL/380 "Art. 28. The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations. Art. 29. The Party to the conflict in whose hands protected persons may be, is responsible for the treatment accorded to them by its agents, irrespective of any individual responsibility which may be incurred. " The fact is that when Hamas bases it's attacks from civilian areas, it does not impugn them from military strike. Also by taking over a civilian area they take upon the responsibility of the safety and well-being of those civilians. So those casaulties belong to Hamas, if they do exists considering your 'fair and balanced' news source... *chuckles* "That argument would make sence if the article you refer to didn't state that they (Palestinians) were "approaching the boarder fence". Were they aiming rockets while walking along? Sounds difficult don't you think... " The fact that they were armed, as you now admit WITH ROCKETS. Is already enough of a reason to attack them! This intent as this isn't a gun or weapon you use at short range to block intruders, it is meant to attack positions deep within enemy territory. This clearly shows that they were walking to get as near to the border fence as possible to increase the range of the rockets. Obviously this shows no pre-planning at all!/sarcasm "As for the Palestinian from West Bank, was he armed? No. " Well if you read the story, it could be that his partner had taken his weapon while fleeing. The fact is that the IDF gave clear warning to stop, they refused, they then shot at their feet, they then fled, and only after these warnings did the IDF direct lethal fire. This is actually less warning and chances than you would get with numerous US police departments. If you ignore a clear and direct command from the US, you immediately get shot at the torso, no warning shots in the feet. So no it was not "Shoot first, ask questions later" It was yell to stop, then shoot at the feet for non-lethal injuries, and only then did they shoot for lethality. So indeed it is aShoot first, ask questions later "... lovely philosophy. " Unlike Hamas where its kill civilians and are there even any questions? Just like you!
25. Lara - of course the Pals always pick murder
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (07.25.10)
Suicide bombings. Car bombings. Land mines. Drive-by shootings. Rocks in our heads. Flaming gasoline on our bodies. Slitting our throats. These are all the choices the Palestinians make when they murder Israelis. Hundreds and hundreds of proven, factual, murders of Israeli civilians by Palestinians. Of course we have itchy trigger fingers. Of course the Palestinians know that anybody approaching the border fence is going to be shot. There have been dozens of bombs planted by terrorists along the fence. Of course Lara doesn't care about the fact that Palestinians in Gaza have chosen to be in a state of war with Israel. It's their choice. So is peace, but for now Gaza continues to choose war. Just ask their democratically elected Hamas government. War is war. People will be killed. If Lara doesn't like war, she should persuade her friends in Gaza to declare that they want peace with Israel. The truth is hard to swallow even down under - the government of Gaza does NOT want peace with Israel. They choose war. Live with it Lara or do something about it. Whining and bleating when Palestinians are killed is nothing but whining and bleating while the war goes on.
26. Enough BS
Wise Saba ,   Netivot   (07.25.10)
It's time to flatten Gaza, destroy the SOB's once & for all.
27. to #23 lara there is something you forget
ghostq   (07.25.10)
the sucide bombing in the 90's, they r nmore than rockets, I even remember the photo of police woman who looking for 4 moths year old baby''s mother, she was murdered, can you explain to the child today y his mother murdered, she was just walking in the street. none forgot about those victims.
28. To all of you, I live on Kibbutz Nahal Oz
Don Saliman ,   Nahal Oz, Israel   (07.25.10)
So some of you say Kassams did not kill anyone, then I invite you to spend a month on my Kibbutz and we will spend half the time on the Kibbutz and the other half in Sedrot and will take you to families where a family member either lost a love one or had a loved one injured from the "non-deadly" rockets. We pulled out of Gaza to give them a chance of starting their country and even left them hot houses, egg production etc and they paid us back by sending rockets like on my Kibbutz in order to kill us and just because a majority of the rockets did no damage, only means they did not succeed in their intention to kill us. Many of these rockets launchers are located near Gaza civilians, where children live, and you who criticize Israel for killing civilians, don't care that they the terrorists do this, then you are all hypocrites or just plain Israel and Jew haters
29. your bias and i'm brainwashed
lara ,   Australia   (07.25.10)
I have acknowledge that rockets have killed people and even stated the number of Israelis killed by them. I have not stated that Hamas and others have done no wrong. Yet not one of you have acknowledged that the IDF have done anything wrong. You have not defended the fact that amoung those injured were children, all you have done is critisize Hamas and Palestinians for 4 rockets that hurt no one ignoring the fact that Palestinians have been killed and injured in the lead up to this occurance. This conflict is never ending because of your narrow view. I can see what Hamas have done and acknowledge it's wrong, you on the otherhand cannot accept accountabilty for anything, all you can do is blame others while closing your eyes to actions of the IDF. The IDF killed more Plaestinians in Operation Cast Lead, then the Palestinians have killed in the past 20 years. The disproportionate use of force is the true crime here. The Palestinians want peace but Israel will not allow them to have it. You want a Jewish state which means that these gentiles cannot live amoung you because that would throw your population numbers out and Jews would no longer make the majority. A Jewish state cannot exist without forcing these people out of it. You don't want peace, you want a Jewish state and there is not enough room for both of these things.
30. Rockets for Rockets
Brod ,   USA   (07.25.10)
Israel should give them Hell. The Islamist-Jihadists shower Israel with Rockets. Israel should shower them back with Rockets. Israel must never tolerate any rockets hitting the Land of Israel. To do so will only embolden them to shower Israel with more rockets. Afterall, their mission is the destruction of Israel.
