1. Nasty nasty
Israeli ,   Israel   (07.26.10)
Hatred never helped anyone. Shame on you Ynet for increasing the hatred of your fellow Jews.
2. How about a column about hiloni weddings?
Jew ,   Tel Aviv   (07.26.10)
Shall we begin with the premarital sex with tens of partners until you find the "right one"? How about the casualness of sex? How about being 38 and single and feeling lonely? There are two sides to every coin, my dear.
3. I got one thing to say...
Talula ,   Israel   (07.26.10)
I was at a Haredi wedding in an ultra religious neighbourhood (oh yes I was!) and I have to say, I do admire them for their spirit - there was not one drop of alcohol anywhere - but everyone was in such high spirits and danced like they were drunk from happiness - I thought it was wonderful.
4. would you people get a clue already?
Israel   (07.26.10)
This article is total nonsense. Why don't you actually go to a few hareidi weddings, talk to some hareidi people, and then report the real story. I'm so sick of Ynet's stupid "reporting" , writing nonsense in order to fill up blank space. Blank space would be better than this.
5. What baloney. The fiction exceeds fact
Avnrt ,   Passaic Nj   (07.26.10)
Speaking as haredi I can confirm there is a slight amount of factual truth in this article. It is correct for example that there is a bride and groom. For the rest you have embellished and exaggerated to the point of fabrication. What a shame your hiloni readers are misled like this.
6. Simply anti-semitic
Shlomo Silverstein ,   MA, Israel   (07.26.10)
Thank you Talula for your honest comment. This article on the other hand is full of disgusting lies and hatred for Jews. I've printed this piece of filth out to show to the next person who tells me that they don't believe that Jews can write anti-Semitic articles.
7. Your article is rediculous
Tal ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.26.10)
Although i am by no means Haredi, i have been to MANY haredi weddings and half of my family is ultra religious. They DO NOT serve chulent and kugel at weddings. I have never heard Hava Nagila at a Haredi wedding. The Haredi bride and groom both recieve presents and checks, despite the fact that the community may not be able to afford such lavish gifts. Get your story straight. This article happens to be misinformative, offensive and seriously insulting. Next time you would like to write about a Haredi wedding, try going to one first.
8. Pure hate
Jonathan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.26.10)
quite sickening - you call this journalism?
9. Make Fun...
Mark ,   jerusalem israel   (07.26.10)
You can say whatever you want but deep down we all know the truth, that the haredi way of marriage is the way to go...with the divorce rate in the haredi crowd a thousand time's lower, (and that only because most of you have kids and separate before marriage) and kids actually knowing who there father is who can argue taht that's the way to go!!!! shame on YNET for posting such a ridiculous article and for promoting hatred amongst our selves!!
10. Its the cucumber season!
Israeli mum   (07.26.10)
Ynet has found one of its favourite subjects to fill the news gap during the summer holidays "onat a malafafonim" as we know it. Have been to several Haredi weddings over the years, and I hate the rigid gender separation, but they are a real simcha compared with many Hiloni weddings, where its mainly "show-off" time for everyone, not just the nuptial family.
11. Haredi Wedding
Voice of Reason ,   Here & Now   (07.26.10)
Slow day at YNET. Only 3 children murdered by their Dad. Only 1 Jewish home destroyed by Government. What to do? Who can YNET attack? Hey have we done a Haredi wedding planner yet? Wow what a great idea. What a low class rag YNET really is.
12. Great satire!
Charlie ,   Tel Aviv   (07.26.10)
We all know that while this article is based on some degree of truth (say about 3%), the rest is fabricated. I guess (author) Yechiel Fleishman thinks he has a sense of humor. p.s. Yechiel - here's a serious piece of advice: while your real funny and all, dont quit your day job just yet...
13. Poor Journalism
Timmy ,   Israel   (07.26.10)
There are two main issues I have with this article: 1. How is this news? 2. As a person with Charedi siblings and as someone who has grown up very close to the charedi world, I can say that this "article" is based solely on stereotypes. Some of the statements in this article and pure nonsense. Does the mother of the bride (or groom for that matter) not "invariably weep" in secular, modern orthodox or reform weddings? Is there not separate dancing in modern orthodox weddings? What is being described here is a Jewish Wedding Ceremony. All the rest is cultural. At a "Mizrachi" wedding, instead of having cholent you may have Meurav Yerushalmi - SO WHAT?! This is a pointless article with no message except that Ynet likes to pick on the Charedi community.
14. What a stupid article...
Wise Saba ,   Netivot   (07.26.10)
I suggest you attend some haredi weddings & report what really happens. This article spews pure hatred for our fellow Jewish brothers & sisters. Shame on Y Net for publishing this garbage. BTW now publish an article bashing chiloni weddings & all the sexual relations before the wedding.
15. What about darfour?
Georges ,   NJ USA   (07.26.10)
Each year at this period of the year, YNET has to fill its collumns. Because you have nothing to say you just fill your paper by telling meaningless articles. I just want to remind yuou that more than 500 000 people died in Darfur and you still speak about Charedi wedding. By doing so you show how bad can be a newspaper.
16. The author's mission...
Ram ,   London   (07.26.10)
... is clearly to denigrate the charedis. I am not charedi but I have attended many charedi weddings and can state that they are conducted in a humble way, without all the fancy bands, designer clothing and fancy catering. You will find men and women separated for "tzniut" but nevertheless there will be joyful dancing and alcohol to lift the spirits. There is more of a sense of celebration, committment and "holy matrimony" to a charedi wedding then a secular one, and that is a fat.
17. I am a Charedi wedding photographer...
Daniel ,   Jerusalem   (07.26.10)
I have been photographing Charedi weddings for over 15 years. This article is pure filth! It looks like it was written by an ignorant child. Have you no respect ynet to publish filth like this. If you want a real article about the purity and holiness of a Charedi wedding, I would be happy to write one. This article has nothing to do do with the truth and you should be ashamed for publishing it.
18. Hey #2
Benji ,   Jerusalem   (07.26.10)
Here's your guide to chiloni weddings: http://www.whatwarzone.com/2008/03/idiots-guide-to-israeli-weddings.html
19. Perhaps Brackman is available to work on my farm
Aryeh ,   Bat Ayin   (07.26.10)
I need another jackass This article like most of his is utterly ridiculous. He forgot to mention the Chabad wedding where they read a letter to teh Bride and Groom from their dead Rebbe, I wonder which Postal service delivers these letters. Oh sorry the letter actually was written many years ago for someone else's wedding but they claim it was for theirs
20. I am secular and I find this article disgusting, insulting
ari   (07.26.10)
and full of vile. You are a pathetic excuse for a news agency and the author a pathetic excuse for a journalist. No wonder the Jewish nation is at the verge of collapse
21. I must admit.....
Karen ,   Near Rehovot   (07.26.10)
Than as an Ultra secular person, even I found this so called satirical article an insult to my Haridi sisters and brothers. ( speaking relatively of course)
22. This writer is NAUSEATING!
shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (07.26.10)
23. clothes
joan ,   ramat aviv   (07.26.10)
May I add some truth to this most offensive and divisive article. Those 10 outfits are often borrowed from a gemach (free loan) as also, the wedding dress, chairs, tablecloths, dishes, etc. Why the need to negate a beautiful time in a family's life?
24. #2 Jew you seem to be forgeting something
Avi ,   Israel   (07.26.10)
How about the number of ultra orthdox jews that pick up other guys for casual sex after they are married? trust me there are thousands ! Still what they dont know dosent harm them right ?
25. What are you talking about?? The article praises Haredim!
John ,   Europe   (07.26.10)
Read it again, carefully! The article is typical Jewish: laughs about various aspects of Haredi wedding, BUT IT DOES NOT MOCK IT! Instead, you have direct admiration: "A haredi wedding is a unique and fascinating event. " I love this kind of articles: jokes, but without malice!
26. I admire Haredi people
Robert Sellers ,   Pennsylvania , U.S   (07.26.10)
the way they enjoy physically and spiritually their happiness specially in a wedding. G-d bless , they are the light unto this dark word.
27. pointless and smug
Suzanne ,   Modiin, Israel   (07.26.10)
Painful article. Was going to say 'poor journalism' but there's no real journalistic content about it. Just a snide tone that's trying to connive with the reader to make her feel important and smug about the fact that we're not haredi. Why? For heaven's sake, why?
28. #2
Talula ,   Israel   (07.26.10)
"Shall we begin with the premarital sex with tens of partners until you find the "right one"? How about the casualness of sex?" ISN'T IT GREAT - YAHOOOO!
29. Another Haredi Wedding Feature
Jay Lapidus ,   Connecticut, USA   (07.26.10)
The Mesader Kiddushin (officiating rabbi) shows up two hours late. Later, he forgets to mail back the marriage license to the city or town.
30. jews have 2 ennemies, from inside & outside
aviG   (07.26.10)
Inside one is the scariest, it is the self brought fire of Aarons' sons. Outside is 'Moabites' sins that Abraham didn't acknoledge for. Inside is religion that make believe G.d backs the self made priests/rabbis, Outside is raw treachery of G.d's/life principle to perfect the world in the kingdom of G.d, as Feiglin would say.
