its discusting
2. Saddened, But not Surprised
Christy ,   Boston, US   (08.01.10)
When Muslims are fighting each other nothing is off limits. They blow one another up in mosques, even. Since they will target mosques and have been known to use civilians as human shields, it's not very surprising a hospital would be targeted. My prayers for all who were impacted.
3. Interesting
Arie ,   BaGolan   (08.01.10)
I just reviewed the on line sites of several Anti-Israel "news" media like the BBC, Telegraph, Guardian, al Jazeera, CNN, and Haaretz. Not one of them mentioned the attackon the rehab center. However, we can all rest assured that when Tzahal responds, there will be front page condemnation by all of them over the "Zionist overreaction!"
4. No response in Irish media
Noel ,   Cork, Ireland   (08.01.10)
As expected, no condemnation in the Irish media of the rocket attack that hit the rehabilitation centre! It is as if it did not matter as the target was in Israel and not Gaza. It also appears not to suit the agendas of the dept of foreign affairs and the "Free Gaza" movement to give a fair and balanced response to this attack either. Their professed credibility to provide unbiased opinions and reflections is a joke. If it were a rehab centre in Gaza, Israel would know all about it!

face of anti-Semitism is the demonization of the State of Israel ... thus, the world all over, anti-Semites helped by a completely biased media, could care less about the damage inflicted on Israelis, or the provocation Muslims constantly mete out to Israel, etc., etc., etc. Bring Goldstone et al. to the rehab center and have him meet the patients face to face!!! Bring Mr. Peanut, oops! Jimmy Carter, and do the same ...etc., etc. etc.

Michael ,   New York   (08.01.10)
For as long as they continue to commit terror against Israel. End of story. You lob a rocket at Israel, you should exepct 100 fold in return, you do it again, 200 fold. Third time, obliteration seems appropriate to me.
9. :: Arie - #3
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.01.10)
Gee! Could this have anything with the fact that a rocket hitting a building with minimum damage and no deaths has little ‘news value’? I hate to break it to your Arie but while this may seem like news to you the reality is that more important things are happening in the world. Maybe tomorrow or the next dat these news medias may carry a small article on the matter but a building getting damaged by random rocket fire doesn’t sell newspapers or media space unless it is a ‘slow news day’.
10. #1; Your right, it's not anywhere else?
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.01.10)
That seems strange to me, I didn't think Haaretz was that bias, I'm surprised.
11. Where is Obama now?
American ,   North Carolina   (08.01.10)
Not a word from Obama and his administration.
12. Problem is, Matty, a war crime is a war crime
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.02.10)
and firing anti-personnel rockets at Israeli civilians is indeed a war crime. So this is just another in a boring series of over 10 thousand war crimes by the Palestinians. The only conclusion is that the Palestinians do indeed maintain a policy of war crimes against Israel. A few missiles one could make an excuse. A few hundred missiles you could say it was a fad. A few thousand missiles and the message is very clear: the Palestinians are explicitly and purposefully targetting Israeli civilians. That, me boy, is a serious war crime. And it does indeed reveal that the Palestinians have had these same policies for decades. Dershowitz was right. Terrorism does indeed pay if you are Palestinians. There is one international law for all, but the Palestinians have successfully brainwashed the planet into believing that international law does not apply to them. It most certainly does. Their judgement day will come.
13. #9 Matty Groves
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.02.10)
Well, at least you know about it , Matty. ...and that means you won't be giving us any grief when we blow up a few more terrorists tomorrow, right?
14. Where are you Secretary Ban? Where
aie   (08.02.10)
is the sanctimonious U.N ? Where are the yells and shouts of the Security Council? Where are you so-called civilized world when Hamas attacks rehabilitation centres? I am sure you will all resurface once we Israelis have to defend our people and lives. Then you will all shout and condemn us. You who now keep quiet are all disgusting and primitive minded barbarians !
15. SHOW NO PITY FOR THOSE WHO ATTACK THE WEAK AND THE INFIRM
stude ham   (08.02.10)
we can never allow the return of the amalekites into our midsts.
16. Matty on slow news days
Arie ,   BaGolan   (08.02.10)
You are right...when Israeli civilians are attacked by terrorists, the news media referenced only notes it in small articles to fill space..even the German owned Haaretz. However, if an Arab stubs his toes on the way to a homicide bombing, it is front page news full of derisive commentary against "Zionist butchery."
17. Where Are You Goldstone,Traitor?
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUsA   (08.02.10)
12,000 US Jews sent a petition to the Red Cross to allow visits to Shalit. 12,000 out of 5.5m Jews? What has changed? Its a disgrace. We should be flooding the UN, EU, USA, Quartet...stop this at once,or face missiles, Jerichosand Popeyes. No country worth its salt would allow Kassams, in effect, sanctioned by Goldstone, the traitor Jew (Kapo). He should be arrested, tried for crimes against we Jews, and hung..show him however, the center just bombed..to take to heaven.
18. Matty
avi ,   haifa   (08.02.10)
We in israel could do well without your idiotic remarks. the UN , media, peace flotilla navys .........simply couldn't care less about war crimes committed by Hamas, excuse me the right term is: radical gazan splinter group. After all israeli civilians are targeted not palis. so who cares. But it is a humanitarian crisis that there is no branch of Mc Donald in Gaza.
19. 4 rocket hits on hospital - obviously premeditated war crime
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (08.02.10)
Since it is clear from multiple rocket attacks on this hospital that Gazastan is intentionally targetting it in a premeditated major war crime, and since the usual critics of Israel (UK, EU, UN, etc.) for defending itself against Gaza are completely silent (again), Israel can now safety conclude that this phony criticism is motivated entirely by antisemitism - AND IGNORE IT. The tight blockade of Gaza should be reinstated and tightened, all Gazans should be barred from all Israeli hospitals, and the crossings and power deliveries returned to minimal humanitarian levels - no "normal" life for Gaza. Until the EU, UK and UN start demanding international war crimes trials for Hamas leaders for targetting hospitals, and economic and military sanctions against Gaza and nations who harbor its leaders, as well as a naval blockade of Iran to prevent further GRAD rocket smuggling. Absent this, Israel should regard actions in support of Gaza "relief" as acts of war, and retaliate with force. There is no valid claim of "collective punishment", because rocketing Israeli towns and hospitals is also collective punishment. If there is no massive world outcry against Hamas conduct, Israel must recognize this hypocrisy for the bigotry it is. There is no other explanation, it is just an attempt to interfere with israel's legitimate self defense - IDF should hit Gaza as hard as the "Coalition" hits the Taliban and sanctuaries in Pakistan (note UK, UN and EU silence over drone massacres). Obama hardly has a leg to stand on it criticizing Israel for what he is also doing.
20. No Matty #9, you miss an important detail
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (08.02.10)
These same newspapers that think a rocket attack on an Israeli hospital on 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS is not newsworthy are the same ones that find it not newsworthy that the so-called "starving" Gazans are able to open a shopping mall and compete for Guinness records with kite-flying contests. How many shopping malls opened in Darfur? In other words, they are manufacturing a Big Lie in collusion with their governments - "starvation" in Gaza of the innocent Gazans - and don't want to print anything that might cause questioning that. The Hamas government shooting rockets into israel was elected by a landslide majority of Gazans, and they are no less collectively responsible for its actions than Germany was for Hitler (whom they elected). The "starvation" myth is simply a form of anti-semitism designed to deprive Israelis of their right to defend their country. 100% of photos of people is Gaza show there is no "starvation" there, and never was.
21. #9;Matty Groves, yea right
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.02.10)
Oh,yea but let Israel announce they plan to build in East Jerusalem and it's front page news. And that is just the announcement, not even actual building? But let the Pals blow-up a hospital and nobody says anything? Warped at best!

25. an overwhelming military response
Barney ,   USA   (08.02.10)
that will shake the very core of gaza is in order. anything less shows that Israel's leaders don't have their priorities in order. gaza should wake up to shock and awe. if they want to cry on someone's shoulder it should be peter or matty. otherwise, their entire infrastructure should be reduced to rubble and then let their arab brethern(who could care less about them-their hatred of Israel is all that matters) help them out. enough is enough or when is it enough?
26. :: Stop picking on Hussein - #11
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.02.10)
Hussein is very busy with Obama Motors Company these days. He promotes green friendly, small, inefficient and uncomfortable electric cars that cost more than some Mercedes's and BMW's, run for a whopping 40 miles on one charge and provide jobs in......................S. Korea.
27. This violence
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (08.02.10)
Is a fruitless policy. There is no honour in a cause which indiscriminately targets civilians. if the intent is to precipitate Israelis feeling what it is like to live in constant fear in Gaza, I rather doubt it would achieve such a goal. Loathsome, disgusting, inhumane and with complete lack of understanding that, no matter whom you perceive your enemy to be...there are innocents. The next time someone needs to get to a clinic and is held up for hours at a checkpoint, I wonder if the one who fired this rocket will feel in any way responsible?? Shame!
28. to #26 matty those green cars r Israel technology
ghostq   (08.02.10)
from the Silicon vally, just google "better place" they r the only one who produce electric cars only, the others got hybrids which is not the same.
29. UN and goldstone
avi ,   haifa   (08.02.10)
No need for a public outcry. at the moment the secretary general of the UN and goldstone are busy and brooding over legal texts to prove that shelling a rehab center is legitimate, because they rehabilitate also wounded soldiers. britain will declare a boycott of medical materials for the rehab center as will sweden.
30. The American Perception
Colin ,   CA, US   (08.03.10)
For some reason, we in America tend to believe that the Palestinians are just a roaring mouse, that Qassam rockets are innocuous and that Israelis are just whining about the Qassam fire. For some reason, many of us just don't get that rockets are rockets. Not many of us have ever been on the business end of one -- and lived to tell about it. We Americans simply cannot comprehend the sheer destructive power a few GRAD rockets can have, especially if used in conjunction with some SCUDs. Things just don't look the same from an ivory tower.
