Justice and investigations in Turkey do not work as it works in the USA or other civilize countries. Investigations and inquiries are made to find the truth but rather to convince the public that what the government wants to be the truth is stated and everyone agrees. Only last week, just before the time when the yearly military promotions were to be decided the government asked the justice system to arrest about 100 military officers with no evidence and no substantial charges, among them generals expected to be promoted to the highest positions including the chief of staff. This way he government blocked their promotions bring up the military staff that they favor for being pro Islamist. A few days later almost all of the arrested military officers were released. Of course they lost their chance to be promoted. There are over a thousand people journalists, medical doctors, professors, intellectuals kept in Silivri prison some almost two years with no charges. Several of them died in prison while fighting cancer. Tuncay Ozkan is one of the Journalists held for 22 months. He has been tried in court but in 22 month he has not been told for which crime he is being tried so that he could defend himself. Finally last week when he asked the judges to tell him what the charges are and out of frustration with a louder then usual tone he has been reprimanded by not to be able to attend his own trial for the next 5 sessions. To expect a just and serious inquiry from a Turkey ruled by AKP is not possible. The objective of this inquiry is to state what the government wants the people to hear.
9. new commission
David ,   USA, exile   (08.12.10)
I am seriously considering setting up my own commission of inquiry into this action. I know my mother in law did and so did my ex wife's great uncle. It is also being investigated by Ruppart James of Whosville Missippi. Why should I miss all the fun? I think everyone should get into the act. Such great fun!
10. BIG DEAL, WE ALREADY KNOW THE OUTCOME
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.12.10)
Why is it Israel's impartiality is questioned? Are there specific incidents that can be pointed to where the Israeli government lied about the facts of a case. Does Turkey have a history of impartiality. We know that in the Flotilla incident Turkey has already displyed bias. As recently as last week, with regards to the Lebanon/Israeli border skirmish, the State controlled media still refers to the incident as "Israeli aggression". Even though Lebanon was caught in two blatant lies. So the charade continues, how predictable. You have to wonder, why is it that Muslim countries are afraid to print the truth, and let their people decide for themselves? What is it their afraid of? Why is the truth so dangerous to these tyrannical governments?
11. Losing confidence
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (08.12.10)
It appears that the Turks are losing confidence that the UN probe they demanded is going to yield anticipated results. In a shrewd move, they have put together their own investigation that will find exactly what the Turkish government wants them to find. The problem with the Turkish probe will be the validity of the evidence they produce. I anticipate the results of the Turkish probe will be marginal at best.
12. This is like a murderer or thief trying

himself. The turkish are led by a turkey. Perhaps they should check to see he takes his meds or put him in a rubber walled room.
