It is just a supposedly temporary truce line set up in 1992 by a UN negotiator when Israel withdrew from its occupation of southern Lebanon. There are disputes about where the true border lies. The Shebaa Farms area is one particular area where Israel occupies land definitely claimed by Lebanon.
