and the army , and everywhere you go in israel , you are taught that the palestinians are animals and should be treated like animals , and now you are all standing against this girl ?? what did she do outside of what she had been taught all her life ??? shame shame shame on israel
2. This is Palestinian propagnda
naro ,   nyc   (08.17.10)
This photos are staged by the pro Palestinian groups. Please check to see if these so called prisoners are not actors in another Palliewood production.
3. Please can ALL the Israelis remove ALL
Jonathan   (08.17.10)
their pictures with uniforms from Facebook and the web ? Why are we doing this to ourselves... It's not about whether it's legal or not, it's about rational behaviour. These don't do Israel any good. Please.
4. immoral, unjewish
adom klz ,   london   (08.17.10)
ISRAEL...THE MOST MORAL ARMY IN THE WORLD... LOOK WHAT ZIONISM IS DOING TO THE HOLY LAND LOOK WHAT ZIONISM IS DOING TO US JEWS...when will we wake up! im ashamed, once again
5. Dehumanization
C   (08.17.10)
Anyone living here knows how much many of us have dehumanized Palestinians. This is a result of the conflict. The Palestinians do the same to Israelis. This is just a symptom of the conflict.
6. :: Naro - #2 - Palestinian propaganda?
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.17.10)
< This photos are staged by the pro Palestinian groups. Please check to see if these so called prisoners are not actors in another Palliewood production> You are a perfect example of the ‘culture of denial’ which is so prevalent.
7. Tempest in a Teapot
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (08.17.10)
Beheading Daniel Pearl, blowing up a school bus carrying children, firing rockets onto unarmed civilians and other unspeakable Palestinian crimes are what we should be talking about. The barbaric actions of the Palestinians are only fit for them to return to Jordan or their seaside resort of Gaza. As these photos, I would circulate them throughout the Palestinian community to show the supremacy of females hoping that maybe it will save a woman's life from being extinguished by a Palestinian who thinks his so called manhood is challenged.
8. #4 - I am ashamed too....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (08.17.10)
of you. Of course these are reprehensible acts. But you are a cowering diaspora Jew, who can't do anything but stand against us. I really feel sorry for you.
9. The Glee of the anti-Israel writers
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.17.10)
First, how many soldiers are involved with this type of behavior? Is it all. some, just few? It doesn't matter if there are 10,000 photo's if they all came from 20 or even 100 IDF soldiers. it means the vast majority of the IDF to their jobs well. Second, lets double check these photo's make sure they are not a Pallywood production. Third, some years back a was study was done. It took two groups of students, made one group guards at a prison, the second group were made prisoner's in a jail. In this study...which was made into a movie...they found both groups began to conform to their roles. The guards did become abusive, and the prisoner's at first became subservient. In the movie...which was suppose to be based o fact...the guards ended up becoming brutal, and the experiment had to be terminated, I believe some died in the experiment. My point is this, after 60 years of Palestinian terrorism and murder of innocent civilians, it would not shock me., if some in the IDF had become abusive towards the Palestinians. But there is a larger context, ( Palestinians want to kill all the Jews), that must be factored in. This doesn't excuse the behavior, but at this point until we know how wide spread this is, I'll reserve my judgment. Except to say, that I don't approve of the IDF treating the Palestinians in this way.
10. #2
jj   (08.17.10)
yes. a palestinian production. and a photoshopped inclusion of the IDF girl. Followed by an inception style idea/memory plant which makes her believe and admit that she stood into the photos. And a facebook account with these pictures on them that she has also been brainwashed into thinking that she set up and uploaded the pictures to. It all makes sense now. Thanks for getting on the case sherlock.
11. Field day
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (08.17.10)
And you have made a field day to Palestinians and all the international media, who hardly waits to find and publish in big letters anything bad on Israel. And you deliver it on a silver plate.
12. Drama Queens complaining about nothing.
Golan ,   modiin   (08.17.10)
soldiers photographing themselves is common in all armies. Not any of the Arabs' faces are seen. Israelis are not even touching them. So what is all these complaints about? Drama Queens.
13. # 2
Ari ,   Frankfurt   (08.17.10)
You should wake up, there is a lot of palestinian propaganda out there, but we deliver them weekly with new arguments and, im sad to say it, facts...
14. :: How to stop this malaise
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.17.10)
These photos reflect the rot that has spread through Israeli society. Because the Israeli army has occupied and oppressed the Palestinians for decades there is a prevalent culture of impunity, denial was well as systematic abuse of Palestinian civilians. As I have said before this is not unique to Israel as we saw the very same impunity, denial and abuses in Iraq committed by the US occupying forces. There is no use blaming this phenomena on “Pallywood” or “a few bad apples” as this is a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation and it will continue (and get worse) until the occupation stops. As some, if not most, posters point out they are deeply ashamed of this ‘revelation’ however this is not enough. If they truly want to rid themselves of this malaise they need to vocally call for an end to the brutal and demeaning Israeli occupation of the Palestinians and their land.
15. Adumb,4# ,so you are ashamed?
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (08.17.10)
Although I agree that posting such photos on facebook is not a very smart move do you not think that you are going way overboard when you say that "you are ashamed"? The American army and I am sure also the British army have done much worse. Try holding your head high and be proud of Israel and your Jewish roots. It will do alot for your obvious low self -esteem.
16. Eden is special program recruit
Sarah ,   The Hague   (08.17.10)
She admitted in a radio show that she was recruited as a Naarat Makam. For those that don't know what it is - Makam is a special army programme that recruits "special people", normally those that have juvenile criminal records or come from hardship neighborhoods. Her IQ levels are accordingly. The stupid girl doesn't even understand why it's inappropriate taking pictures with blindfolded captives.
17. What exactly is the fuss about?
Danny   (08.17.10)
So far none of these photos show even the slightest bit of abuse.
18. What is the big deal?
Ari ,   Brooklyn   (08.17.10)
We already knew the Israelis were supreme bastards, so why so much fuss over this incident?
19. #3 - It is Good that You Are Concerned about Bad PR
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (08.17.10)
for Israel. But you do not seem at all concerned for the Pal victims of this disrespect, abuse and humiliation? Especially if any of the Pals were detained, blindfolded and cuffed ONLY because a soldier wanted to have their pic taken with them.
20. #8 you poor bigot
Adom klz ,   North London   (08.17.10)
Cowering diaspora jew?? What makes you so arrogant that you can lecture and snarl at me just because im not Israeli. I am a proud and respectful Jew and thankfully not so short sighted as you are in making analysis. Dont feel sorry for me, feel sorry for Israel when foolish people like yourself do damage to its name by supporting such idiocy. I will not sit down and allow such fools to let our beloved Israel become a pariah state because of indecent and inhumane actions. This scandal is just another chapter in the delegitimization of Israel under the IDF and its extreme government. I WILL stand against this because simply speaking it does NOT represent me or my jewish values. I wont sit idly by like yourself and countless others while you live in "peace" and WE the COWERING DIASPORAH JEWS the ones who endure the hatred and anger of the stupid realities of the current Israel!
21. Nothing wrong with these photos.
Tony   (08.17.10)
The enemy wasn't being tortured. They just took pictures, big deal!
22. Well
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.17.10)
At least the detainees (who were probably detained for some really good reasons) were not made to crawl on the floor, bark like dogs or wear underwear on their heads as happened at Abu Ghraib in Iraq.
23. #2 Amir was a former Israeli actor?

24. #20; Adom klz, You jumped the gun
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.17.10)
Before all the facts are in. All we know at this point, is what? That some photo's were taken by IDF soldiers We have no idea how widespread it is. As I said in my earlier post, it doesn't matter how many photos were taken. 10 guys and women could have taken 10,000 photos. So lets wait for this to pan out. You may find...as in any army or police force, that it is just a few bad apples...with most in the IDF performing their jobs with honor and dignity.
25. Israelis cannot win against those who wish not to see.
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.17.10)
Oh boy! Soldiers took PICTURES of the poor Palestinians! The poor Palestinians were blindfolded and handcuffed! I wonder what they had been up to? Maybe they were tending to their family gardens? On the way to university classes? Shopping for homebound elderly? I think not. But let's look at what happens when Palestinians get their hands on two IDFers who take a wrong turn into Ramallah: the soldiers get gutted like goats and their bodies are thrown from second story windows to a bloodthirsty crowd of psychopaths. Remember the Palestinians who drenched their hands in the blood of these soldiers and held them up in jubilation? Remember the Palestinians who slaughtered the young boy skipping school for a day? I haven't. Pictures of some Palestinians under arrest? Oh, the pain, oh, the shame, OH GET OVER IT. For the left-tards coming to the rescue of these arrested folks, your concern is misplaced, but you know that, don't you?
26. I don't see what the big deal is.
USA   (08.17.10)
Posing with photos next to a prisioners, so what?
27. FB scandal
Eric Kahn ,   USA   (08.17.10)
Get over it! I'm one of the diaspora Jews who stand solidly with the IDF. These pix are nothing. So what! If there is a downside, it's that such pix can be used against us. You're worried about these pix? Worry about the fact that you haven't seen any pictures of Galid Shalit recently. No recent Red Cross photos, nothing to know how he is being treated since the one video. At least the families of these prisoners know they are alive. Hamas and the rest of the anti-Israel world play you like a violin. Peace for Peace, nothing more. No guarantees, no land, no money. Peace for Peace.
28. This is normal. Nothing wrong here.
USA   (08.17.10)
Posing next to a vanquished enemy, SO WHAT? These people are enemies and have done a lot worse to Gilat Shalit.
29. :: #22
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.17.10)
You are quite correct however these are two examples of what the Israeli Border Guards do to Palestinians they have in detention: "They (Israeli Border Guards) would have them (Palestinian men, women or children) stand, and there's the well-known Border Guard song (in Arabic): 'One hummus, one bean, I love the Border Guard' – they would make them sing this. Sing, and jump. Just like they do with recruits… The same thing only much worse. And if one of them would laugh, or if they would decide someone was laughing, they would punch him. Why did you laugh? Smack… It could go on for hours, depending on how bored they are. A shift is eight hours long, the times must be passed somehow." "I don't know who or how, but I know that two of our soldiers put him (Palestinian child) in a jeep, and that two weeks later the kid was walking around with casts on both arms and legs…they talked about it in the unit quite a lot – about how they sat him down and put his hand on the chair and simply broke it right there on the chair." Both quotes from the Ynet article entitled: Female soldiers break their silence. These two example amount to abuse of power, degrading and humiliation of detainees and physical abuse - exactly the same as some of the actions carried out in Abu Ghraib.
30. Is this really suprising?
James ,   Canada   (08.17.10)
For years, Israeli society has dehumanized the Palestinians and treated them as sub-humans. The Palestinians are all to familiar with this fact. The soldiers who post these pictures are merely a reflection of overall Israeli society. Any Jew who expresses "shock" at these photos is clearly out of touch with Israeli society...because this has been going on for a very long time.
