1. Notice Flotilla organizers keep breaking Intl Laws?
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
Just like typical self-righteous Leftists, they continue to ignore laws and sovereign nation jurisdiction if they don't agree with them. Who are the real law breakers here? It's obvious. I hope these public statements of intent to break numerous laws and aid a terrorist group is duly noted by the Intl community when the IDF again heads them off and invites these ladies for tea, in an Ashkelon holding cell.
2. "...(cargo carried)...would be a symbolic amount"
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
And thus, the true purpose of this flotilla has been revealed. "Symbolic" usually means "insignificant". In other words, nothing of real value or benefit. It's a PR stunt and considering the very wise warning from Cyprus regarding possible injuries of people, the organizers are fully responsible for any resulting actions, knowing they are a possibility and still continuing.
3. Blood means life
Michael ,   Italy   (08.19.10)
All on board were instructed to carry details of their blood groups in case they need blood transfusions. This very much agrees with the concept that women give life (blood) and that their main concern is to conserve their life first and foremost. If they want to give life to the Palestinian people cannot they think of another way of expressing their life-giving experience? It is significant that most of them must be virgins (nuns) who have never given real life. It does not take a Sigmund Freud to understand that there are many other ways of going about expressing and doing things.
4. Mary was a betrothed virgin - whats in the belly of the ship
Josh   (08.19.10)
5. Thank you Cyprus, and why does this ship of ill tempered
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.19.10)
"women" need to stop in Cyprus anyway?
6. Cancer medication?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.19.10)
Israel produces fully half of the chemotherapy protocols in use in the world today, and makes these protocols freely available -- yes, even in Gaza (and I do mean "free") -- so these pious frauds and phonies are basically carrying coals to Newcastle. Books and toys. Humanitarian, huh? I guess there is more than enough food in Gaza if instead of bags of rice, bales of wheat and other foodstuffs, toys and books are the cargo. (Actually, there is more than enough food in Gaza. We know it for a fact. And we have proven it!) ...... next!
7. Flotillas losing support
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (08.19.10)
The Muslim/left backers of the flotillas have suffered a serious loss of credibility in the minds of rational people. The rational people in Lebanon and Cyprus realize the flotilla movement may be found in violation of international law by the upcoming UN Mavi Marmara probe, thus, they are pulling back support. This is a very important development that threatens future flotillas. I have stated in past talkbacks that once the Israeli naval blockade is found to be legal that all the others issues associated with it will be judged to be in Israel’s favor. So, some of the questions that remain to be answered are: • Where adequate warnings issued to the flotillas? • If warnings were issued, why were they not heeded? • Did a crisis situation exist in Gaza? • Did the flotilla group try to avoid confrontation with the Israeli Navy? The Muslim/left are going to find that it will be almost impossible to answer these questions in a UN forum and adequately demonstrate their intentions were peaceful. Unchecked emotion and fiery rhetoric will not work this time.
8. # 7
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (08.19.10)
Dear M Carr. I have one problem regarding your posting here. It is logical. As you might be aware of, the international media and especially Arab media, they don't see the logic, the truth, they don't listen to it. Because they don't want to. They have their goals and they will do everything to achieve them. Lies, non-logical things, whatever you might think of, who cares. As long as the world media reports negatively of Israel, the goal is achieved.
9. Response of Cypriots
Greek Cypriot   (08.19.10)
You know, what's astonishing in Cyprus is not the Goverment's wise decision not to get involved in dangerous games. What's mostly astonishing is the reaction of the great majority of the population who (silently but decisevely) agree and support the wise decisions of our government.
10. End Turkey's Illegal Occupation of Cyprus!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.19.10)
30,000 Turkish soldiers illegally occupy almost half of Cyprus.
11. John @8
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (08.19.10)
John, let not your heart be troubled about how the “world media” comes down on this issue. We are fully aware of their anti-Israeli bias, so their credibility has been lost long ago with us. The UN probe of the Mavi Marmara is different. The UN will not have the luxury of being arbitrary in their findings for two reasons: 1. The world has already been exposed to the evidence. 2. Any ruling will affect all UN member nations. The UN would be foolish to rewrite major parts of international maritime law just to make Israel look bad or to give credibility to those that seek to provoke confrontation.
12. Relations with Israel and greece is only turning out
Omri ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
better and better. Greece always had some power in the middle east and here we see it. Today the modern wars are many times wars for public opinions and here we go, a Greek ally.
13. They are clearly being PROVOCATIVE and
Israeli 2   (08.19.10)
nothing else. They probably think that Israel would be so scared as not to harm sweet defenseless innocent women who so much CARE for Gazans. I have a hunch most Israelis are more sympathetic to Gazans than they are.
14. Cyprus was once a safe heaven for all terrorists.
Martin ,   NY, USA   (08.19.10)
First Greek Cypriots had their EOKA terrorists against the British, then EOKA-B to implement their ethnic cleansing plan against the Turkish Cypriots; then came the Greek Cypriot support for Palestinian terrorists, Greek-Arafat love affair; then Greek Cypriot-PKK Kurdish love affair. Greek Cypriots after supporting terrorists for decades now seem to be afraid of Israel or trying kiss Israeli backside to gain support against Turks.
15. TO MARTIN , NY USA
Christos ,   Cyprus   (08.20.10)
EOKA was Fighting against British colonial rule. Turks in Cyprus always multiplied, the only ethnic cleansing was done to Greek Cypriots by the Turkish army in 1974. PKK is a freedom movement that soon everyone will support, trust me.
16. TO MARTIN, NY USA
GREEK CYPRIOT   (08.20.10)
Its surprising you forgot a very important part of our history, the period just before EOKA when we GREEKS were dying in the streets and in the battlefield fighting the NAZIS and saving Jews, a part of our history which we are particularly very proud of. EOKA was a freedom movement. As far as your opinion about the strengthening of Cypriot - Israeli relations it is obvious that you do not like it, I wonder what your motives are. I am sure you will get better answers from the Israeli participants in this chatroom.
17. Gazans can end the siege now, by fulfilling the Quartet's 3
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (08.20.10)
demands: 1. recognition in Israel. 2. Recognition in past agreements. 3. Renounce of violence. Once they'll do that, their port will be open for all ships.
