1. ''Not so close to a bomb''
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.22.10)
What could go wrong? I think I smell the unmistakable stench of appeasement & cowardice. This is nothing but rationalization for doing nothing. When Iran finally tests it's first nuclear device, the same people will tell us, ''it's not so bad, it was a small bomb, nothing to worry about.'' And when Iran nukes Tel Aviv , New York or Washington? What will they say then?
2. Bushehr is not extraterritorial russian land in Iran
Joe ,   Canada   (08.22.10)
What happens in the future at the nuclear plant is strictly dependant on Iranian decision making. This is not inside the russian embassy. In the same way as it decided on occasions to forbid UN inspectors to do their job, Iran can revoke any agreement with Russia about the control of uranium rods which can become sources of plutonium. Once the Iranian technical personel has been trained how to operate the power station they could get rods from North Korea in exchange for currency or oil. They were preparing to do so in Syria when the plant was destroyed by the Israeli raid. And as the Iranians were quick to trompet, the russian supply of uranium for Bushehr does mean the end of enrichment of uranium on Iranian soil quite the contrary they are expanding the process..

11. 1#,Terry, so far Bibi has been a huge disappointment
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (08.22.10)
Even Olmert, probally the worst Israeli Prime Minister ever, at least ordered the bombing of the Syrian potential nuclear facility. Bibi so far has done nothing and Iran gets closer by the minute to having a nuclear bomb. Bibi also promised to build a fence between Israel and Egypt to stop the illegal migrants. Nothing has been done there either.

I'm not disappointed. This is pretty much what I expected. That's why I couldn't vote for him. Some friends of mine kept telling me, ''oh, Bibi, blah, blah, blah, he's tough, he's a real leader, blah, blah, blah ....''. Sad to say, in my opinion, Israelis are suckers, naive politically, they fall for BS & wishful thinking. And, they're absolutely no judge of character. Like sheep ......

Netanyahu is an empty suit who couldnt find his way in an empty closet. He is next to useless.. The IDF is run by morons with a political agenda. The IDF is staffed by kids who either couldnt buy their way out or who really dont belong in an Army. Save for some kids who want to help out, the poor leadership has rendered the IDF to paper weight status. My own Canadian born kids are going thru the service right now. MY eldest who was trained in sharp shooting in Canada, told me they couldnt shoot straight if their lives depended on it. Lack of discipline rules. The kids have such poor leaders its frighening. Waste and waste of lives is the rule not the exception. If you have any illusion the current IDF can protect the country you are seriously misguided. Iran is gunning for Israel while Isrealis are too busy pissing on eachothers shoes and looking into eachothers plate. Dumb doesnt begin to describe whats going on over there. I fear for the Jews there. It is scary indeed.

What do you think, will happen to the Palestinians if Iran uses its peaceful nuclear weapons against Israel?
17. "Experts", again?
Brad ,   USA   (08.22.10)
What are they "expert" in? Stupidity! Iran won't have to "deceive" Moscow to develop a nuclear weapon. They're on the same side, and their goal is for Iran to have nuclear weapons. Russia is the prime mover in Iran's quest for nuclear weapons. Besides, where does everyone think Saddam Hussein's nukes went, during the UN sponsored delay of our invasion of Iraq? Iran, and Syria. That's right. Syria has also been working on nukes, while everyone is focused on Iran. These "experts" must be the media, that only tells us what they want us to hear.

sober and accurate analysis. My question is why didn't we see such insightful material before the plant was inaugurated? What kept you?
19. Bunnie, can you show us...
Persian CAT   (08.22.10)
how? You seem to know stuff, that no one else is even aware of? Are you aware this plant is under constant IAEA and Russian monitoring? The "ruskies" don't have "come", there are and will be there 24X7, babe.

The Russian engineers have a contract and will work until their contract ends or until a conflict develops and Iran tells them to leave. Is your claim about supervision fact or fiction?
21. #20. The Russians have total control over...
Pesian CAT ,   USA   (08.23.10)
the insertion and removal of the fuel rods. BTW, if Iran gets into a "conflict" with Russia and "tells them to leave", I'm sure the whole world know about it and a lot of calculations will change. If you think that Iran can kick the Russians out, pull a couple of fuel rods out, run to the basement and hammer together a nuke, then you are more involved in making up your fictions than paying attention to what's going on, homie.
