1. Ynet, where are your Radical Leftist Activist friends,
Shalom   (08.24.10)
Freedom Fighters, Human Rights, Animal Rights, Peta, Betzelem? Why didn’t they join this protest?
2. how about
paul ,   usa   (08.24.10)
Moving to the recognized villages which exist nearby. Instead of insisting on being the legislative portion of the israeli govnt. I get it it sucks but get used to it. No country in the world allows its citizens to set up villages on private government land...
3. Didn't know "human dignity" includes breaking laws
William ,   Israel   (08.24.10)
Maybe in Leftist and Arab circles but not in real life. I do sympathize with the plight of Bedouins who have one foot in their traditional world and one in the modern world. Dr. Ruth Westheimer did a great documentary on Bedouins in the Middle East (which sadly focused only on those in Israel) and their issues. I believe there is room for the State to move here but Bedouins must realize their tradition is not in being nomads who travel the land ripping up the last vegetation, but in their knowledge of the land, etc. But at the very least, NO ONE can equate breaking of local laws with "human dignity". The "Palestinians" already cornered the market on this lie.
4. Oh, I would purely LOVE to see

the outcome of a Bedouin women's protest in, say, Saudi Arabia. The Sudan. Hello! Can anyone spell "beheading?" Arabs living in Israel may not really like the Jews, but they sure do take advantage of where they're living. Hello! Can anyone spell "hypocrites on a massive scale?" How about "shameless advantage-takers?" Like find me ONE country in the Arab and Islamofascist world that REALLY cares about a "blatant violation" of any minority's rights! And, while we're sort of on the topic, why haven't any Israeli Arabs left despised Israel to go live in the blissful paradise of the Palestine Authority? Not a one. Hmmm. Wonder why. Someone please enlighten me ....
5. The question is how the Gov. got or claimed the land
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.24.10)
Someone let me know if this is true but reported the Military move then off the land for 6 months for training exercises in early 50's then claimed the land as abandon but they remain in Israel. Israel agreed to honor Ottoman/British land titles when it became a state but all Gov. have a right to imminent domain if owner reasonable compensated.
6. Pure propaganda!
Negev Girl ,   The Negev, Israel   (08.24.10)
Don't believe it! Anyone with eyes on their heads is welcome to come down and see the gigantic villas(with Jerusalem Stone) on huge lots of land being built daily! Big talkers: look at aerial photos and see how much has been built ON LAND THAT WAS UNINHABITED! We MUST stop this giant theft of government land. We will have no land left. But don't believe me. Just come on down and look. Outside of Arad, Omer, Beersheva, Dimona, Lahavim...ETC. ETC. And check out the legal towns like Hura, Lakiya, Kasaifa etc. Not bad at all, and they pay MUCH less than Jews. It is the Jews who should be protesting!
7. THE Bedouin HAVE EVERY RIGHTS AS THE JEWS IN ISRATINE !

It's called "eminent domain," dear. Look it up. Why is it that you have such a predilection for asking really stupid questions?
9. the bedouin need to learn this is not the desert its a state
zionist forever   (08.24.10)
States have laws. Its state land not private property and bedouin won't even pay rent. The state has on many times tried to offer the bedouin alternatives to building illegal villages. The state has offered to build legal villages or bedouin towns ( in an area chosen by the state ). The bedouin have refused ever offer ever made and insist on building illegally and then complaining when their illegal village is not recognized by the state and hooked up to the water & electric and told they can't stay. This village they keep rebuilding was destroyed only after the whole issue went through the courts. If they court rulings can be overturned when people don't like the ruling whats the point of having a court system? The problem is the bedouin think they own the Negev... its a modern day version of when the bedouin lived in tents then when they got bored they would pack the camel and move onto the next place. Thats bedouin culture and if we were talking about tents and camels we could say live anywhere you want but we are talking about permament structures and so we must have rules on where they can build and they must follow those rules even if they don't like them or think its unfair. The left need to stop helping them break the law by encouraging them to rebuild even though the courts have decided the village is illegal and must come down. If a jew in Tel Aviv decided he wanted to get rid of the trisim ( shutters ) on his apartment and he did it without permission he could be ordered to put them back. If the bedouin want to build entire villages on state land ilegally we are not allowed to go to court and if the court decides its got to come down we are not allowed to destroy it. The bedouin need to understand this is not the 19th century anymore and Palestine is not a Turkish province where nobody cares much anyway. Today Israel is an independent state and it wants to develop the country and so bedouin cannot put up villages anywhere they chose. Its not a violation of minority rights. Why should minorities get special treatment? Its not a violation of international law because all states have the right to decide their own planning laws.
