Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (08.24.10)
trouble given the Hariri affair and his ridiculous blaming of Israel, the civil strife between his own troops and other Lebanese militants and now his absurd statement regarding a nuclear reactor. There must be other serious difficulties going on about which the public is unaware. I expect that he will be dethroned soon, possibly assassinated.

Josh ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.25.10)
Iran was just hit by sanctions which seems to be hindering Iran, bringing it back to the negotiation table, the LWR built seems incapable of producing material for a nuclear reactor, and yet the issue at hand isn't just Iran's ambitions but the fall out in the region which is a nuclear arms race. Thank you Nasrallah for proving western concerns aren't fabricated, and bringing forth this at a time when Iran didn't need it.

13. And how would this reactor work? (by Elad)
quotes from Israeli ,   talkbackers   (08.25.10)
Same as the government: there would be a Shiite engineer, Sunni shift manager, Alawi technician All factions would conduct wars on parts of the reactor: The Hizbullah will control the core with nuclear material. Amal will take over of the cooling facility. Druze will barricade in the control room. And of course, you can't have it without some Palestinians, who would set a refugee camp in the supply tunnel. It's also great place to shoot rockets from - Israel wouldn't dare to fire back ... Electricity would be produced by the following formula: In the morning, it'll be supplied to the Shiites in South Lebanon. At noon, to the Christians in Northern Lebanon. In the evening, in the spirit of cooperation and Sulha, it would be supplied equally to all Lebanon. Yalla Nasrallah!!!
14. Is he TRIPPIN.....???
rich ,   raanana   (08.25.10)
Yeah.....Nasrallah ol' buddy - You'll get your own little dome reactor -when "donkeys fly" and little green men come down from mars - "GET A GRIP ON REALITY DUDE"...there's no way in hell its going to happen.
15. Very good idea
Alas ,   Toronto Canada   (08.25.10)
A nuclear reactor in Lebanon can do wonders. Lebanon needs more energy for its people. I can already sense israel calling this an "existential" threat. Bunch of cry babies.
16. Of course they do!

nearly fell of my chair when I read this artical!! perhaps he wants one or two nuclear bombs ready tailor for him?
19. Brilliant, legal under NPT and puts US & Israel on the spot
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.25.10)
If Lebanon can play by IAEA rules and can find someone to build it, it would put US and Israel in almost impossible positions. The 2 reactors Israel bombed were not under IAEA control so US and others could look the other way but if Lebanon can be open and not try to develop nukes in any way, which is likely since Iran may do it for them, it would put Israel in bad position.
20. If Only......
Joe ,   Ashdod, Israel   (08.25.10)
The "POWERS TO BE" would release Nikolas Tesla free energy patents which were proven to give 100% free energy to the whole world, we would'nt have theses fanatic idiots with their stupid ideas about nuclear energy. Also the world would be a much cleaner looking instead of all them wires hanging arount :).

Were,ll all surmising that Nasrallah won,t be implicated in the special tribunal on Lebanon and the assassinations and interference in Lebanese politics for the past 20 years but what happens if the tribunal finds Nasrallah guilty on all charges etc. the Shiite lapdog will have to run ,very fast and far from his east Beirut stronghold or face his destiny in Beirut from vengeful Sunnis,Druze ,Phalange,Israeli Mossad etc, inshallah?
