1. :: Kol ha'kavod
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.27.10)
I applaud these brave Israelis who are taking a firm stance against the illegal settlements in the Palestinian WB - if only more Israeli were as brave as these actors and playwrights.
2. Thank You
World Citizen ,   the world   (08.27.10)
There is hope for Israel.
3. they will not be missed
Steven ,   USA/Israel   (08.27.10)
Such leftist "artists" have nothing worth watching or communicating anyway. Let patriots entertain the audience in Ariel. On with the show!
4. #2
Jane   (08.27.10)
Not with people like these. Your "hope for Israel" will end in our demise. They are contributing to same. Screw you all.
5. who cares? i am sure i will toss and turn
Barney ,   USA   (08.27.10)
tonight and not sleep a wink.
6. Nothing to worry about
Eyal ,   USA   (08.27.10)
They won't be missed and will be hated throughout Israel. They didn't hurt Israel, they hurt the citizens of Israel in total. Good luck getting further shows anywhere in Israel. Most Israeli's will boycott them. I never heard of them anyways, probebly very boaring to see. Lefless will not go far.
7. Actors refuse to appear in Ariel
Ger ,   Raanana, Israel`   (08.27.10)
The names of the actors involved should be published so that those of us who attend theater events will know to avoid going to any performance in which they appear.
8. Same as # 7--where's the list?
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (08.27.10)
9. GREAT! Give ALL the work to patriotic performers.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.27.10)
I have long believed that patriots should be hired in preference to non-patriots. Be refusing to perform in Ariel, leftist performers are making it much easier to draw the line between patriots and nonpatriots. Nobody will miss the nonpatriotic artists, once the temporary scheduling problems have been resolved. Than we can give ALL the work to patriotic performers. Moreover, Israelis (who are mostly right leaning) can stand up for what is right by patronizing only shows put on by patriotic performers.
10. These actors are sick.
Israeli 2   (08.27.10)
11. Actors? No, spoiled children keeping a ball at home.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.27.10)
12. What a crock of horse dung...
Joe ,   Toronto Canada   (08.27.10)
The West Bank is DISPUTED territory - neither sovereign to the Pals nor to the Israelis. The fact that Jordan and Iraq attacked Israel several times from this territory, formerly OCCUPIED by Jordan for 19 yrs., does not give the Pals nor Arabs any more claim then Israel. Notwithstanding the media B.S. “Green Line” for the past 43 years, only Israel has been threatened with annihilation from this territory, and is demarcated only as a place where the Arab armies were stopped in this attempt in 1949. I seem to recall Jordan building there for 19 years and not allowing Jews to visit their holy sites (under UN sanction – how soon we forget) in that territory, and yet there was no media frenzy at the time - why was that? No Saudi $$$? If I was Israeli, I would boycott the “artists” concerned. They're traitors to the country which sustains them.
13. Theatre in Ariel
Rosie   (08.27.10)
These actors, directors, etc., get salary from The State of Israel, so either do the work for the money you get, or be fired. There are many others out there, not less, maybe more gifted than you, who would be happy to get the chance. No one is indispensable, just simple as that.
14. Kol ha-Kavod!
Vladimir ,   Ashdod, Israel   (08.27.10)
Kol ha-Kavod! That's good!
15. Fire Them All!
Harry ,   Victoria Canada   (08.27.10)
Publish their names so we all know who they are and then fire them all! Ariel and Gush Etzion would be annexed formally as part of any eventual agreement anyway, if such a day ever came. Meanwhile it's traitorous to concoct such a boycott which fuels antisemities.
16. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Marco ,   Brazil   (08.28.10)
What great news! Their names should be sent to the Nobel Committee. These are the greatest Israelis, the ones that honor the Jewish tradition of respect and tolerance. When we read things like this, we are reaffirmed about the legitimacy of Israel, a country that deserves to exist alongside the others. In a crucial moment like this, these brave Israelis are helping to shape the future of the country. Keep in mind that hundreds of millions support your move against a bunch of 400.000 people, indecent settlers that simply robbed the land of poor Palestinians. These settlers are not Zionists, you, actors, are. Settlers are bandits that are beyond the Green Line only for real state reasons. You, on the ohter side, produce culture, clean the name of the country. Just ask for those who says that culture should not mix with politics if they would support artists performing for the Reich or for Ahmedinejad or Chavez. Please, be sure that you live in the heart of all those that love Israel and want the see the country retakes digntity and respect again. Dont let a gang of 400.000 people or so harm your values and principes. The world backs you.
17. Dividing a Nation
Joan ,   New Zealand   (08.28.10)
They may be talented actors, directors etc but they are certainly without much brain, and as for you Matty, Jane and your supporters while you are so foolish and help divide the Nation you are pushing for its demise. World Citizen are you helping to destroy everything everywhere because that is what a One World Government will do and it is coming much sooner than you think.
18. sounds perfectly reasonable
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.28.10)
A little bit of "payback time" for the Im Tirtzu fascists and their talkback supporters
19. Just pathetic
Maurice ,   LA, USA   (08.28.10)
They won't perfom in Ariel for Jews but I am sure they would perform for the murderers in the PA. This is the land of your ancestors and you should be proud to perform in front of people who have to guts to stand for it.
20. GOOD FOR THEM!!!!
Sharon ,   near Gazas   (08.28.10)
I hope many others join them. They worry about the future of the country - not the settlers and their hallucinations.
21. Blacklist Ariel
Argaman ,   USA   (08.28.10)
Is ist possible to get a completellist of these jackanapes. We could blacklist them too. Oh, they will probably whine about anti-democatic threats, yada, yada. How about a little personalization of the conflict a la Saul Alinsky-you know, visit their homes, schools, etc. Lets hoist the lift on their own petard!
22. boycott the boycotters
emmess ,   Niagara, Canada   (08.28.10)
Let's get a list circulated with their names (may those names be soon forgotten). Only the left pits Jews against Jews and brags about it. If I tell them to "break a leg", I really mean it.
23. shallow minds and hollow souls
Arn ,   Yehud   (08.27.10)
To all those dear elitist artists who would like to see themselves as favored with a singular cultural intelligence and higher societal responsibilities keep this in mind... the West Bank was a military grab by Jordan in '48 and NEVER recognized as Jordanian territory by the UN. When Jordan attacked Israel from the WB she lost that territory. The simple truth then is that Israel's claim to this land today - by every standard of international law - is far more legitimate than Jordan's ever was. Your pretentious and supercilious refusal to demonstrate your craft to your own people who have settled there makes each one of you hollow souls a disgrace to our flag and, moreso, to the ancients whose spirits still linger here.
24. Lefties
Ron ,   NJ   (08.28.10)
Screw them!!!
25. Shut up and sing & dance
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (08.28.10)
The 1949 cease-fire lines, aka the "Green Line" is not and has never been an "international" border.
26. So don't perform in Yafo too.
Isaac ,   USA   (08.28.10)
It's occupied territory too, at last that's what Palestinians and their friends say. Even Tel Aviv is part of the occupied territories, the future Palestinian Islamic State. I hate self-hating Jews, if they want to boycott everything Jew or Israeli, why you don't move to Saudi Arabia or Venezuela, surely you're very welcome there.
27. #12 - It is NOT Disputed Territory
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (08.28.10)
Read the 4th Geneva Convention, the UNSCR 242 and numerous other UNSCR's. Israel's occupation of anything beyond the Green Line is illegal and the settlements are illegal.
28. Never heard of them
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (08.28.10)
Never heard of them and will never want to see them. What are their names so they too can be boycotted. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
29. Now that we know the names
Mark C   (08.28.10)
Now that we know the names, no need to attend the usually less then best performances of this people.
30. This is what to do....
Jason ,   San Francisco, USA/I   (08.28.10)
1) I will boycott any performances these defeatists anti-patriotic actors/actresses perform in. 2) So much propaganda. because International law is on Israel's side. All land west of Jordan is Jewish. This was an agreement and it was signed by Emir Feisal. There was a two state solution where 77% of Jewish land was stolen to make Jordan/Palestine on Israel's mandate land. SO their statements are bogus and show that they know no hisrical facts but are dumped by Arab propaganda.
