2. Re:#1 You Are Wrong!
Fala ,   Oporto, Portugal   (09.03.10)
You are not G-d, you cannot decide what is right or wrong. These people are our brothers, our sisters, our mothers, fathers, uncles & aunts, etc. G-d created them, G-d does not make mistakes. The world views Israel POSITIVELY with respect to the RESPECT Israel provides to ALL it's citizens - GAY people included. Be proud you are a nation of FREEDOM! You are a 'Beacon Of Light Unto The Nations', Israel, BE PROUD!

gays are also people. they are also human just like you and me. they never chose this life style. they were genetically predisposed to be gay since borth. this is not a life choce and no matter how much a gay man or woman wants to change, it is impossible for them. living in the closet and hiding who they are causes a lot of pain and depression to gays in general. please underrstand that they have not chosen this lifestyle for themselves in the first place. this is how they were born and made. no one chooses to suffer trhe scorn of a society against them. no one chooses to be pained and miserable. THEY ARE PEOPLE, FLESH AND BLOOD LIKE YOU AND ME. PLEASE HAVE SOME COMPASSION AND RESPECT. THEY DO NOT INTERFER IN YOUR LIFESTYLE OR OTHERS. THEY JUST CHOOSE TO LIVE THEIR LIFESTYLE THE WAY THEY WANT TO WITHOUT HURTING ANYONE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT??? WHY SHOULD THEY NOT BE PROUD OF WHO THEY ARE, OF THEIR ACHEIVEMENTS, OF THEIR LIFE IN GENERAL??? just because you say so? just because you do not approve? why? how do they affect your life in a negative way???? we are all part of humanity in color, in race and also in lifestyle presferences. we are all to be accepted for who and what we are with our faults and preferences. as long as we do not murder, act unlawfully, steal and hurt others, what is it to you to allow us to live out life the way we see fit? gays are some of the most educated wonderful people i met.
6. This certainly is
Z Co   (09.02.10)
Maintaining a free and liberal democracy and welcoming all people is certainly something to be proud of. May God bless Israel and those who understand that all people deserve respect and happiness. Stay in boston... please. We do not need more people like you in Israel.
7. Congratutaltions Israel
Fluffi ,   Germany   (09.02.10)
for having such an open and tolerant city like TA!!
8. This is everything to be proud of!
gay dad   (09.02.10)
It used to be that gays in Israel married women and secretly had sex with men on the side, lived lives filled with fear and lonliness and sometimes committed suicide. No more. We no longer have to hide and risk violence and bigotry. We now marry, have children, live openly in the cities and in the country. All this in 20 years!
9. That is awesome!!!
Stein   (09.03.10)
That is awesome!!! These other cities - Rio, Vegas, Toronto, Barcelona - are amazing cities. Tel Aviv deserves to be among them. Im really happy about that!
10. A hole..a hole..for a kingdom!
Nora Tel Aviv   (09.03.10)
11. #3 shows stupidity and no comprehension
(09.03.10)
this is not an award for gays. it is an award to a city in a total democratic country that respects democracy, lifestyle choices and the RIGHT of all people to be who they are. contrary to debilitating and homophobic islam and arabs nations who kill people for these choices in their lives. this honor is for the right of individuals, whoever they may be, to live full lives without fear of persecution and death hanging over them... unlike in iran and all arab muslim nations. hameed aboughaze, iranian
12. TA still has a stronger competitor
Seppo ,   Finland   (09.03.10)
G-d loves every human being and hates the sins of every human being. TA still has several competitors in the world. Maybe the next step would be to compete the best known gay center in the world, Sodoma and Gomorrah. Unfortunately nobody has yet found these towns in the Dead Sea which gives to TA certain advantage.
13. Couldn't Tel Aviv try for anything else?
Daniel ,   Israel   (09.04.10)
14. #4 Nothing to be pround of to murder 2 gays in London
Ste   (09.04.10)
Yes the shooting were horriable and should not be allowed to happen but attacks like that happend all over the world not just in TLV. What about the Admiral Duncan bombing in London in 1999, that killed two people.
15. No. 4 Liliane
NYC Girl   (09.04.10)
First of all, while this was certainly an unconscionable act, it was in no way sanctioned by the Israeli government...as opposed to the Iranian government, for example, which promotes the lynching of homosexuals. That is when they're even willing to admit there are any in Iran. Not only that, but the sad fact is that attacks against gays happen in every country in the world...even in a very liberal city like New York, where feral teen-agers used to come in from the suburbs for the express purpose of harassing and attacking homosexuals. And, somehow, with all the knuckle-dragging drunks prowling the streets in the UK, I can't believe there aren't plenty of attacks against gays in your own country. So, frankly, I wouldn't be so quick to pass judgment on Israel.
16. We still don't know who committed those murders
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (09.05.10)
it could have been a jealous homosexual friend. but, even if it were a murder because the person doesn't like homosexuals, that's not an argument that says homosexuality is a good thing. it's only an argumenet that says murder for any reason is wrong.
