1. Arab maturity
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (09.05.10)
Substitute Arab maturity for desperation as 62 years have passed by with no sign of any maturity from the Arab League ,Hamas or any other Arab/Palestinian entity ,hence no state .
2. THIS IS KNOWN AS THE POPSICLE PRECONDITION
stude ham   (09.05.10)
the talks have gone nowhere so far and this creep abbas is forcing preconditions on them. just wait till israel refuses to give one millimetre of jerusalem. nazbullah was right. these talks are dead and have nowhere to go.
3. Only Water Freezes
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (09.05.10)
Again we are being lectured to by those that only seek our destruction. Not only should we NOT freeze but double the pace AND expand building in our eternal UNDIVIDED Capitol of Jerusalem. "Build we Must For a Better Israel"
4. Bibi can do it
Jeff ,   Washington, DC USA   (09.05.10)
Bibi has an opportunity to go down in history as a true statesman. It will take a Prime Minister on the right to make a peace deal. For Israel's children, the Zionist vision and peace in the region, I hope Bibi will extend the settlement freeze and take advantage of this opportunity. He will face resistance but ultimately Bibi can make this happen.
5. ...he also said he categorically refuse to accept Israel's
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.05.10)
right to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people, and he probably meant what he refused to state. This, combined with the refusal to see a pece treaty as the "end of the conflict" suggest what Abbas and the forces that he actually represent really want: the demise of Israel, if not in a one-fell-swoop than in stages!!!
6. No peace without Freeze
Ezra ,   Florida   (09.05.10)
Well, well. For the umpteenth time the so called palestinians are behaving as if they have something to offer to Israel in exchange for peace !They have NOTHING.And if this is not PRECONDITION,, I don't what is. Expect Obama now to pressure Israel to concede to them again. Their words do not hold for long and thus i will say; SHORT LIVE THE PALESTINIANS !!!! SHORT REIGN OBAMA !!!
7. Let Abbas walk out
Ben S ,   USA   (09.05.10)
Abbas keeps threatening that he will walk out. Who cares if he walks? Let him know up front what to expect. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.
8. Shows treu intentions
Yaakov ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.05.10)
Abbas does not want peace he wants Israel to de-legitimize Jews living in their land. This whole process is scam. Abbas is in the middle of honoring the Terrorist Al-Hindi who planned the Munich games of 1972. Abass' Fatah-Al Namir claimed responsibility jointly with Hamas (don't even know if Hamas really participated) . Shoot and "negotiate" at the same time. this strategy hasn't changed since Arafat. ArabsMuslims have 22 states including one on 77% of Israel (its east bank) called Jordan/Palestine. This was done as a a two-state solution for peace with the Arabs of the region..only had to give up 77% of our land....really worked huh? (as if there wasn't other Arab land for another Arab country) Now they want to divide up Israel's remaining 23%....they have appropriated Jewish identity (i.e connection with the land) historically Jews were called Palestinians and though a bogus name, everybody new that "palestine" was the Jewish homeland. This is all a big shame to annihilate all of Israel and Abbas and Hamas are playing "good terrorist" and "bad terrorist". If it happens it shall be the most notorious land grab in history.
9. No Peace with Fatah and Hamas gangs
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (09.05.10)
I told you this for years. The only thing they want is the total destruction of Israel. And dear old Muslim Obama want this also. Ayayay !
10. To Jeff # 4
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (09.05.10)
For sure Bibi has an historic opportunity! The opportunity to simply say no to Abbas request, the opportunity of not bending to arrogant Obama. The opportunity to really building peace by making it clear to arabs that we do have red lines and that their pushing game is over. Go and vote for Obama again Jeff, it's the best way to try to destroy Israel, but it will fail, just like every other effort in history failed!
11. If frozen what's there to negotiate
O'mama   (09.05.10)
PAL again depend on their Muslim mole to work his magic again.
12. Bibi promised Israel to end freeze ,but
RayS ,   USA   (09.05.10)
will he yield to Abbas and Obama and break his promise to the Knesset and Israeli public and extend in some manner the "freeze"? If so he will not only betray his public BUT convince the Arab world that he is not trustworthy AND is a pushover.
13. to give condition before negotiation means
ghostq   (09.05.10)
that palis will use it as an excuss to anull any agreement. funny but the that will end their dependennt on other countries which will end donation money, they think they can buy more time, but no time ereas another historic oppertunity they missed.
14. For 9 months there was freeze and no talks
Gabriel ,   Brazil   (09.05.10)
Now there should be talks and no freeze for 9 months
15. Will Abbas be the "Strong Horse"?
RayS ,   USA   (09.05.10)
If Bibi gives in on this he'll elevate Abbas and strengthen all anti-Israel forces..He'll be the tamy pony in the eyes of Arabs and Abbas will be elevated. Israel needs a strong leader.
16. what is Abbas thinking?
Duchess   (09.05.10)
We can also start preconditions... this is ridiculous. It is more in their interest as all we want is peace. They want to negotiate? but what are their concessions? Doesn't he realize he is in the weak position? Will they once again miss an opportunity?
17. No talks without total freeze on Pal attacks
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.05.10)
If Abbas makes demands, then so can we. And it is perfectly reasonable and logical that the Palestinians stop all armed attacks against Israel in order for peace talks to take place. No shootings. No rockets. No rocks through windshields. No firebombs. Even as an Israeli civilian I understand that lots of Palestinians are going to keep trying to kill me while the talks go on. Abbas is gonna have to realize that we are not going to build new settlements, but we are indeed going to build in our existing ones. We can either throw impossible conditions at each other, or sit down and KEEP NEGOTIATING. I think we should negotiate. If Abbas wants a total freeze on construction, then he has to deliver a total freeze on attacks. Quid pro quo.
18. Abbas asking for more than is possible
Ilan ,   Ariel   (09.05.10)
A complete freeze is not going to happen and Abbas knows that. Why he bothered with going to Washington in the first place is unclear.
19. Howza bout,.....?
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (09.05.10)
A "mirror" of the rubric, "No Peace without the Freeze. I suggest: "No Freeze without Peace". That, translated means for every day that the PA witholds any form of peace, in ALL it's meanings and aspects, Israel annexes 5 square miles of Judea/Samaria, and issued unlimited building permits; further exonomically supporting those who move to that location and sign a contract to build. After a thirty day period sans a positive PA response, the annexation process is speeded up with 10 square miles absorbed. And so on until the Pals reach reason or find themselves, well...where they have decided they want to be. Nowhere, and proud of it.
20. As I predicted
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.05.10)
Before the talks started I said there would be two camps that try in the to make the talks fail. The Arab camp would kill and murder people. The Jewish camp would threaten to build in the West Bank or Jerusalem. I asked a two simple questions: 1) What would draw more worldwide outrage? 2) Which should draw more outrage? What do you think? Is taking human life more outrageous than threatening to build a house?
21. No talks and building freeze.
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.05.10)
Certainty as night follows day it will be "Fudged freeze" extensionby Netanyahu
22. Let´s move, settlers.
Marco Antonio ,   Rio de Janeiro   (09.05.10)
First, decisions about freezing or not freezing are not taken in Jerusalem, but Washington. Israel does not decide, just implement orders, as a mere, subservient colony. Second, Arabs today are much more affluent than they were in 2000. If the US does not put and end to the settlement entreprise, ciao American economy and here comes the Chinese. Third, settlers who came to Israel not inspired by Zionist ideals, but just for real state prospects now have to pack an move The Brazilian setttlers, for instance, they did not move to Israel to help to build the country, but they left the slums in Brazil just to get a better house in the settlements, grabbing lands from poor Palestinian families. Now, it is time to work, like civilized and decent people. If you left Brazil because you had no job, go to the Green Line and try to do something legal in life.
23. To Bibi: Play Stupid and Let Them Dance
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (09.05.10)
Deja vu, where have we heard this before? For months now, after Bibi was arm-twisted into the freeze (Jerusalem), he and the Obama administration sought to have direct talks..to achieve something useful out of all this. In fact, Abbas had been talking, kind of directly, by placing pre-conditions. Today, its the freeze, in a few months it will be dividing Jerusalem, a Pales army, no Israeli presence in the Jordan Valley, no Jewish control of airspace, a link between Hamastan and Jericho..AND an unlimited right of return for those who desire. Its the same old slippery slope..you give an inch, and they (Pales) take the entire body. Now Bibi is in a fix (again). If he acquiesces..its the slope. If he doesn't, its his fault for what the future holds. Again Israel has been duped. To Bibi: don't reveal your hand..play poker...(something you are bad at). Keep tight lipped..let Abbas rant and rave and swirl around..let him dance and weave, and do the jig. Israel still has the high ground, the army, and a weak Fatah ( threatened by Hamas)
24. No talks without Shalit! Two can play this game.
BJL ,   usa   (09.05.10)
25. This is Abbas saying: we refuse to negotiate
Faruq   (09.05.10)
26. What will the PA give in return for a freeze?
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (09.05.10)
If he is not willing to "negotiate" what is the point of having "negotiations"?
27. To Marco Antonio # 22
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (09.05.10)
To be sitting comfortably in Rio you are speaking in a very offensive way about many people who you don't know and their reality you absolutely ignore. More than that, the way you talk about poor Jews who emigrated from Brazil, shows a real class conscience from your side, feeling that you are better. Please Marco Antonio, we are in Elul, the month of Tshuva, please do think twice!
28. Never give away Judea and Sumaria!
andy prigge ,   orangeville canada   (09.05.10)
Judea and Samaria are a part of Israel, why when Israel is already encircled by her enemy would they want to tighten the stranglehold of islam even more, its time to expand the border around Isreal to where it was during King Davids time.
29. Waaaaaaaaa!! I don't wanna play!!!
David ,   Hartford USA   (09.05.10)
Abbas is the biggest baby in the world. If he had half a brain, he'd get down to negotiations and be done with it. That would either stop the building or let it continue under supervision. But no. All Abbas can do is wail that he won't play with the bad Israelis if they resume construction. What a flaming wuss. Mr. Abbas, you are a disappointment to your people and to the rest of the world. You are incapable of doing anything on your own, so please get out of the way.
30. no talks without the following confidence building measures
Berl ,   formely of Seattle   (09.05.10)
release of Gilad Shalit release by the USA of Jonathan Pollard Reparations and an apology for Munich massacre Retraction of Abbas's holocaust denial thesis that he wrote at Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow and an apology All bills for electric, fuel, telephone owed by the PA paid in full Revocation of all names of Squares, camps, buildings etc named for terrorists Reparations paid to all families of victims of terror Reparations to all families who fled or were expelled from Arab lands Full acceptance of Israel as a Jewish State Freedom granted to Jews to live where ever they want just like in all other countries
