31. Peace in our Time--not!
RightMakesMight ,   Montreal   (09.06.10)
Any honest reader of recent Middle Eastern history must concur with Lieberman's analysis---the prime objective of the Palestinians and much of the Islamic world was, is and in all likelihood will remain, the utter eradication of Israel. And only the most delusional of left-wing Israeli governments would be sufficiently daft to conclude final status negotiations under such circumstances.
32. Israels Loony FM
Nathan Rai ,   Bangalore   (09.06.10)
Leiberman is loony if he thinks the UN will takes its biggest media circus / grosser off its production list. The illiterate jihadi Palestinian population will never ask where or rather whom the billions of dollaris in aid go to. Palestinian illiterates will never ask how the PLO allows Suha Arafats personal expenses to exceed the Palestinian expenditure on education in the West Bank. I doubt they even know of how much aid they got the last year. The mullah fodder will never ask what sixty odd years of resistance got them. The Israeli public will never accept what unilateral disengagement really got them. This occupation with the "occupation" is the medias greatest money spinner. Its easy money to those who make the right noises. What truly academic accomplishment can Gordon Levy claim to other than the political one of Israel demonizing The financial Enron could be stopped. Lieberman imagines that the political Enron called the "Palestinian issue " will be allowed to be audited or stopped. No wonder he is called a loony. If he continues to think that the world will accept the truth that is Palestine, I would think him a loony too.
33. to #25 Sultan
Yaakov ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.06.10)
Sultan, the so-called Arab peace initiative is a joke-with all due respect. Judea and Samaria were occupied by Jordan (Also, Jordan/palestine was created by taking 77% of the Mandate Jewish homeland away from Jews for a "two-state solution and to ensure peace...and how wars happened against Israel since then?) for 19 years from 1948 to 1967...during this time besides slaughtering Jews and exiling other Jews and destroying synagogues, they brought in many Arab Muslim settlers to the land. 1) First, we also know the validity of these so-called peace agreements. Muslims usually invoke the Peace treaty of Hubidayyah and the subsequent slaughter of the Kureish tribe as an example. In the end there was no Peace. 1a)We know that is not worth anything but a count down for destruction. 2)Even if there were "moderate" Muslims willing to make a REAL peace there is not enough of them to make a difference. 3)Sultan, Peace will be exchanged for Peace. By Israel appeasing and surrendering not only their legal land (Judea and Samaria) as according to International law, they would also be giving away their secure borders- a death sentence to Israel. 4)Abbas, Sultan, is still the head of a terrorist organization which still has in its charter to destroy Israel and you know how they really feel because you know what he and others speak in Arabic! 5) 1 month and 1/2 ago he told the Arab league that he was ready to fight an all out war against Israel (at a higher pace) but only if they would join him. Peace maker? 6)I am sure that S. Arabia would help finance the war...maybe after Iran is taken out. 7)In short the Jews have a legal, historic right (plus the Qur'an says so too in sura 5:?) to its land; the remaining 23% of it from the jordan river to the sea, just as I stand up for the right of Saudi Arabians to Saudi Arabia so do I for our Jewish right to the Jewish homeland. As Arab Muslims u have 22 countries (as Muslims u have 30). We have only one homeland. 8)(most of the Muslims in Israel came only a few short generations ago , allowed by the British in 1920's/30's and then during Jordanian and Egyptian occupation for 19 years, until 1967.) It is time for their brothers to take responsibility.
34. How easy for all the americans/canadians...
Dan ,   Tel Aviv   (09.06.10)
You don't have to deal with this nutso. Most Israelis think that he's an embarrassment. And we have to hold some optimism, a faction of the Palestinians are sick of this as well.
35. Lout Lieberman
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (09.06.10)
For Israelis to be happy that Lieberman represent them and agree to his insane policies, unfortunately will sentence Israelis and Palestinians to more decades of senseless bloodshed. The man should be expelled from Israel to return to his previous job as a member of the Moscow underground.
36. #24
avraqham ,   canada   (09.06.10)
How sad, that you think along that line.
37. Liebermann- at it again
Lisa   (09.06.10)
a FM is just that- an underling in a prime ministers cabinet- what gives this person the right to undermine everything Bibi says and does? Even if he personally does not agree- the top officials at least should pretend to agree- how could any foreign government take Israel's government seriously when they contradict each other in public? Bad manners- bad publicity- bad image.
