Matthew 28:19 ,   singapore   (09.12.10)
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."(Edmund Burke) Qu'ran 9:29: 'Fight the Christians and Jews until they are brought low and pay the special tax.' did the good men of moslem denounce this evil and do more significantly? since 9/11 the moslem of good men do nothing, much is spoken, pathetically few is done. moslem around the world has already burnt the US and Israel flags, where is the protests of their good men "government"? the honourable Mr President, the world of good men was deafening silent during the Holocaust, thus furnace flame of evil burnt hottest. because people like your honour chosed to "persuade gently" instead of rebuke with action. words are cheap, Woe is the day when American's grandfathers buried their sons, pregnant wives wept over husband, sons carried coffins wihout a single remains of their fathers..... moslem around the world is burning todauy the US and Israel flags, where is the protests of their good men "government"? why did you not question the deafening silent your moslem in the country? yes, you kept mentioning even today on the freedom of worship in anywhere they want, remember the Auschwitz authorities removed the Catholic crosses to a nearby monastery, you have the right to worship anywhere doesn't mean you should worship anywhere.... sir, the "good men" ye have became. ynet, pl post this in honour of the griefing grandfathers, fathers, husband and sons....
6. #1 - So facts that contradict you are now "racist"?
William ,   Israel   (09.12.10)
Let the numbers speak for themselves. The conclusion of tallying all person who have committed attacks in the name of religion, suicide attacks, plane hijackings, terrorism, war crimes, etc. have mostly been from people of Islamic faith. That's not my spin, that plain and simple facts. And like clockwork, another Islamic attack occurred in the world, this time in Russia. Tomorrow, Lebanon. Next day, Sadr-city. etc.
7. Good point about a place of massacre being holy
William ,   Israel   (09.12.10)
Here is a point that underscores the hubris of Muslims and their insensitivity to others. Muslims often build mosques on places that were the burial ground or place of death of people they revere. Many other religions do it too. Here is a location that has seen 3000 innocents die in such a horrific way that it sent shock waves through the psyche of America. To Americans, this place is sacred - mostly because it shows the unity of Americans and because we all revere the 3000 killed - because they were human. Because Islam practices that type of honoring (sometimes on the holy places of others) then they should absolutely understand the need to end this charade and move the center. If their goal of tolerance was true, they would never build a place that would be a beacon of tension. At least, Jews and Christians would never do it.
8. Mosque is Memorial ..
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.12.10)
.. to those 'Muslim Martyrs' who died killing thousands on 9-11. I've read it will be dedicated/opened on 9/11/11. Don't know anyone who thinks this a good idea. Everyone I know is terribly opposed and sickened by the very idea of a mosque being built in this location. Very bad PR move for the US Muslims. I don't want the US Government to act contrary to the Right of Religious Freedom. If they have met all the code requirements, etc. I support their right to build the mosque. I also support the right of Free Speech being employed for those who want to demonstrate, and speak, against it.
9. #1 Catty
E ,   Canada   (09.12.10)
Why is it that Muslims want it both ways? I live most of the year in a Muslim country and am not allowed to attend any religious services at all. No religious symbols and Bible. No congregations of more than 3 people in public. I must observe Muslim Ramadan rules of not eating or drinking on pain of 30 days in prison. I must vacate shops five times per day during Muslim prayer times on pain of a beating from the Religious Police. I cannot defend my faith against constant attempts at converting me, on pain of a beheading. I cannot be in the presence of a woman (in a car or restaurant) who is not my wife, mother or sister on pain of imprisonment. I cannot work in the same office as a woman on some sort of painful punishment for contravening a new fatwa) I cannot heal anybody using natural medicine or supernatural means on pain of a beheading. Yet, every other country must accommodate your every whim or you call them racist!

IZL   (09.12.10)
I actually agree with your statement. It is questionable as to why they put that at the end of their article, even if they (ynet) were not the ones to issue the statement. However, in democracy the ability to express stupid statements is legitimate (within limits) and we have often to seen Islamic hardliners express radical views, and yes this has been portrayed in news clips as well. The coin has two sides, but the point is that the coin is dirty no matter what side it is on. Now with regards to the actual message written. All extremists are NOT just Muslim, but the MAJORITY of modern day extremism is being expressed by Muslims. All extremism no matter where it comes from should be prevented in an intelligent manner. However, Persian, I doubt you care for the other sides rights and only decry your sides rights. This is why I and others show little sympathy when you play the victim card (in this case legitimatley so), for you only acknowledge it when your side is victimized. Happy new years Persian!
15. It is NOT racism to condem a violet cult that seeks to take
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.12.10)
over the world and impose it's insane beliefs on freedom loving people. islum belongs in arab countries that do not want freedom of thought, not in America.
16. Perfect description "pig in a holy place"
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.12.10)
If the US people allow the Mosque to go ahead they deserve Islam
17. Persian CAT - the truth is hard for Muslims to swallow
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.12.10)
The truth of the matter is that the vast majority of terrorism in the world today is Muslims against Muslims. Literally tens of thousands of innocent Muslims have been butchered by Al Qaeda, Taliban and other Islamic groups. Hundreds are murdered every week in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq. You don't hear the leaders of any country call for Iran to be "wiped off the map", but you certainly do hear Iranian leaders calling for mass genocide in Israel and "death to America". Same for Hezbollah. Same for the Taliban types. What we need is for Islamic leaders around the world to not just say that they oppose these extremist terrorists, but to take a united stand against them with both words and actions. We just don't see that at all.
18. Persian CAT complains about bigotry
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (09.12.10)
Would you be so kind, dear CAT, to provide us with an example of a news source which is free of such bigotry and hatemongering? Say, the Tehran Times?
19. Hitler was an extremists but he was not a Muslim.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.12.10)
And Hitler killed many more Jews than the 911 attack. YNET, you must know by now that the 911 attack was not done by Muslims. You just have to go on the internet and you find out who really did 911.
20. #1, Sorry P. CAT, but sometimes the truth
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.12.10)
HURTS...
21.  "Not all Muslims are extremists, all extremists are Muslims
William ,   Gotham City, USA   (09.12.10)
How true... Just follow the daily news worldwide... The founders of terrorism were palestinian muslims and started it all in the late 60s...
22. she is right, if the Muslim had a lil respect for other

people they would have taken the offer of building their mosque in alternative site, but is not the case, and even after they will built it, and I hope they won't, it will cause problems around. after all 95% of sucide bombers go out of the mosques to commit their massacre.
23. Mosque won't be built
NYC Girl   (09.12.10)
There aren't enough construction workers in the City of New York who are willing to so much as a lay a brick to build that mosque. The problem is going to take care of itself.
24. #4 Not a hater
Madeleine ,   Israel   (09.12.10)
But a grieving mother, sickened by Islam and what Islam stands for. You are the haters. So-called "moderate"Islam is so cowed by the venom and hatred of the radicals that you are too scared to make your voice heard. Sheer good taste and consideration for the 3000 or so victims of your terro should have convinced you to erect your mosque far away from the site of9/11
25. # 19 Now compare!
Noa ,   Israel   (09.12.10)
You mention Hitler. After the Shoa, did the Germans build a hughe German National Museum or a great Lutheran Church or anything like this next to Auschwitz in order to show tolerance???? Germans understood suddenly what was perverted and what was right. And these mosque builders don't.
26. All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 94% that Aren’t
observer   (09.12.10)
On the FBI’s official website, there exists a chronological list of all terrorist attacks committed on U.S. soil from the year 1980 all the way to 2005. According to this data, there were more Jewish acts of terrorism within the United States than Islamic (7% vs 6%). These radical Jews committed acts of terrorism in the name of their religion. These were not terrorists who happened to be Jews; rather, they were extremist Jews who committed acts of terrorism based on their religious passions, just like Al-Qaeda and company. The Islamophobes live in a fantasy world where everyone is supposedly too “politically correct” to criticize Islam and Muslims. You don’t live in constant fear of radicalized Latinos, even though they commit seven times more acts of terrorism than Muslims in America. Why then are you wetting yourself over Islamic radicals? In the words of Cenk Uygur: you’re at a ten when you need to be at a four. Nobody is saying that Islamic terrorism is not a matter of concern, but it’s grossly exaggerated
27. #25 Germans?
Hal ,   Usa   (09.12.10)
Uhhh, Aushwitz [Oswiecim] is located in Poland and the Arch Bishop of Warsaw, Cardinal Glemp wanted to build a Carmalite Convent next to the former concentration camp. That wasn't very tolerant was it?

This will be the beginning the END of GREAT AMERICA. ISLAM ARE SAYING OPENLY THEY WANT TO MAKE AMERICA AN ISLAMIC.WAKE UP NOW BEFORE YOU LOOS YOUR GREAT COUNTRY.
