Sam   (09.21.10)
get over it.
2. israel is negotiating with drama queen crybabies
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (09.21.10)
waaaaaa! he doesn't agree with me. Waaaaa! i'm going home to mommy! loser.
3. The PLO is just practicing
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.21.10)
The real walkout comes later this week.
4. Thank you Fayyad
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (09.21.10)
All the main leaders that actually have to live with any agreement in our region, prefer to maintain the status quo, perhaps with better conditions all round. If world leaders truly wish peace upon us, they can start by giving us peace from their own clumsy attempts at imposing deals that no one wants.
5. Arabs don't want 2 state solution
CJ   (09.21.10)
Arabs want everything, nothing has changed. They want a "Palestine" and another country with Arabs and Jews so they'll be able to bite more of it later. Arabs are the reason why there's no peace. Arabs want to annihilate Israel, Hamas and the PA are the same, only different methods.
6. True colors of the Palestinians exposed.
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (09.21.10)
For all you leftist peace lovers, who still live in a dream world and just don't get it: even the "moderate" Fayyad admits that the Palestinians will NEVER accept Israel as a Jewish state. They want to have the cake, and eat it too: a Palestinian state in the 1967 borders, PLUS Israel ceasing to be a Jewish state, and absorbing masses of Palestinian refugees. This proves nothing had changed in the Palestinian ideology through history - they didn't accept a Jewish homeland in 1948, and they still don't accept a Jewish homeland in 2010. This clearly proves they are still not ripe for peace.
7. ayalon---fayed
alan ash ,   nyc ny usa   (09.21.10)
kol hakavod to ayalon. they wont even recognize our rights-- what are we crazy ? -we are there they have to get used to it . even though they want us all dead
8. Actions have Reactions
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (09.21.10)
Formerly a US Federal Reserve banker, Fayyad is a pretty competent and patient guy. Ayalon must have tried real hard to provoke him. But then apparently Ayalon wanted this reaction.
9. Two States
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (09.21.10)
Jordan & Gaza are the only TWO Palestinian States.
10. ... and stuff finally hits the fan
leo ,   usa   (09.21.10)
11. The ugly truth is slipping out: Pals reject 2 state solution
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.21.10)
Listen to the Palestinians in Arabic and you will never hear them say "we support the two state solution." We know that the Palestinian leadership will never stop "resisting the occupation", since for them, Tel Aviv is occupied and must eventually be liberated. This is the major number one reason why peace will not happen in our time - the Palestinians don't believe in peace with Israel. They want peace without Israel.
12. #4 - it's not clear if you agree with Fayyad or not.
Jane ,   London, UK   (09.21.10)
He obviously left because he couldn't agree to two States for two peoples and if the Pals don't agree to that then there's nothing to talk about.
13. Good for Fayyad!
Joseph   (09.21.10)
Don't let this Israeli bully push you around...just like he did to Turkey's ambassador when he badly humiliated him. Good for Fayyad to stand up for himself and Palestine.
14. good work ayalon
alexi   (09.21.10)
Fayad joins th eother arabs in their menstrual tirades. They have to state 2 states for 2 people, one jewish state, no evasions. Even saying it is not enough. Good work ayalon in showing somebackbone whereas barak and ben eliezer would have gone down on their knees and begged forgiveness from fayad, much as they did before turkey's arab lover erdogan. Stand firm.
15. Israel Finaly "on to" the Palestinian Game
M. Duvduvani ,   Yokneam, Israel   (09.21.10)
Of course Fayaad walked out. He walked out because he was angry that Israel is on to the game the Pals have been playing. The Pals will agree to have two states one Palestinian and the other that will become Palestinian. For those that it is not clear yet, you are either an enemy of Israel or just stupid or foolish or both.
16. Pals don't want to make peace with Israel, they want Israel
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (09.21.10)
They claim the west bank, the east bank (Jordan), Gaza and Israel... Unless they change their position, this Process will lead to eternal war not peace
17. ayalon
sas ,   israel   (09.21.10)
DO NOT TRUST THE MAN AND HIS FOLLOWERS. HE IS ONLY THINKING ABOUT HIMSELF. HE CARES NOTHING FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION. HE BELONGS AT HOME WITH LIEBERMAN AND PERES AND A FEW OTHERS................................ THE MAN WAS THE WRONG PERSON AT THE RIGHT PLACE WHEN HE WAS APPOINTED AMB. TO WASHINGTON. HIS BACKGOUND IS WEAK, AND HE HAS PROVEN HIMSELF TO BE A LIAR AND DUMB. MUST GET RID OF HIM FROM THE POLITICAL ARENA. IS CAUSING MORE TROUBLE. HE "DONATES" NOTHNG TO THE GOVERNMENT BUT ENJOYS ALL THE ALL THE EXTRAS AS DEPUTY MINISTER. HE NEEDS TO BE SENT HOME.
18. # 12
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.21.10)
& if Israel does'nt agree to give up the settlements, there's nothing to talk about ?? What a lame post.
19. Good man, this Danny Ayalon
Avi ,   Geneva   (09.21.10)
Once again he shows he has backbone. The Arabs (so-called Palestinians) are out to diddle Israel again, that's evident.
20. By storming out in a tantrum...
Malone ,   Hfx   (09.21.10)
...he just made himself(and the pals) look bad(worse). This is supposed to be the moderate, sensible guy, lol.
21. #11 - You Have it Totally Backwards.
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (09.21.10)
Reread the first paragraph. It was Ayalon that "refused to approve a summary of the meeting which included the words 'two states'." Anyways, with that cleared up, I am sure you will agree that your talkback should be re-written with the words "Israel" and "Pal" interchanged.
22. #8 Asking to recognize a Jewish Israel is a provocation?
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (09.21.10)
Thank you Mark, for exposing the crux of the problem: the Arabs view the mere existence of Israel as a provocation, and would not rest until they take over it. Therefore defending Abbas and attacking Ayalon in this case, only exposes your anti-Israel bias and shatters your credibility.
23. the original UN resolution
Trish ,   San Francisco USA   (09.21.10)
Calls for the establishment of two states for two peoples, one Jewish and one Arab. These word games are all designed to sabotage the talks so the Palestinians have an excuse not to make peace but to keep the war machine going so their leadership can stuff their pockets.....
24. do you think that our leaders will open their eyes?
martine ,   ashdod   (09.21.10)
I hope so, cause if the "moderate" Fayyad explosed when he heard 2 states 2 people, what about the others, they are worse! But those who thought that : that's it, they came back to the negociations table, it's good, should feel bad cause his behavior means that palestinians only want our country, without a single jewish soul living there. The butter and the money of the butter! good, it's a sign that we don't have to talk to them! Never.
25. Grammar
Matt ,   New York, US   (09.21.10)
This article starts with: "Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad left a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon outraged on Tuesday after the latter refused to approve a summary of the meeting which included the words "two states."" It should say "after the former refused...". Latter refers to the second person (Ayalon). Former refers to the first (Fayyad).
26. Ayalon and Netanyahu are playing the trump card
Septimus   (09.21.10)
Netanyahu says over and over that the Palestinians must recognize Israel as the "Jewish state." Now Ayalon says the Palestinians must acknowledge "two states for two peoples." They are both saying the same thing. They are both playing the same trump card. They have discovered a simple, effective way to unmask the Palestinian "peace negotiators", and thereby expose the "peace process" as a cynical sham. Critics of this ploy will claim that it's actually Netanyahu and Ayalon who don't want peace, and have found a reliable way to make it impossible for the Palestinians to conclude a peace deal. But it's really the Palestinian leaders and negotiators who are letting themselves be exposed for the complete frauds they are. Netanyahu and Ayalon are playing them like a violin.
27. #21: YOU have it backwards
Joshua ,   Pittsburgh, PA USA   (09.22.10)
Ayalon wanted a clarification ON PAPER, and Fayyad refused to give him one. If the Pallies refuse to recognize Jewish self-determination, then there's nothing to talk about.
28. FInally!! Arab masks start to rapidly fall off!!
Tom C ,   No palestine!   (09.22.10)
It's been a VERY long time since Israel has played the international "game" so well. Expose the lies and the true intentions of these terrorists. Love you Israel!
29. Zionism Stupidity
Nader ,   Ramallah   (09.22.10)
I wonder Mr. Ayalon, are you trying to fool the world?? I want to ask you something? what the name of your state? is it Jews State? or Israel? Why do you call a Palestinian state for Palestinian and you dont call an Israeli state for Israelis??? Why jewish state?????? Then we call our state as an Islamic state and every Palestinian that is none Moslim the he is not Palestinian !?!??! WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLLLL
30. 22 Tahl - Language Problems?
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (09.22.10)
Maybe, like you, Ayalon has trouble with American English. You see words I did not write. Fayyad worked for many years in the United States for our government. Likely, Fayyad has better command of the language. Thus far we have no American account of the incident.
