Here in the US, if one sport works to bring all different type of people together and speaking the same language, it is baseball.

I believe Israel needs to excell in football or as the Americans call it soccer. I personally don't like baseball, I have watched a few games in the USA but In football you have much more excitement, the fans etc. so I would say invest your money to renovate the stadiums and expand the current ones and make football bigger in Israel :-) cheers

Having been used to German soccer and after coming to the US, baseball bored me to tears and American football was a puzzle. I happened to have married someone who knew how to explain the finer points of both sports to a girl :-) Although he left for the stadium in the sky several years ago, I know football in and out and once you understand the finesse of baseball, it's no longer boring. I do, however, prefer college football, although my favorite team, Alabama, got its tush badly beaten last Saturday :-( There's always next year....

I am a young NYer born and raised. Baseball is a dying sport among people 25 and under. The game is too boring, slow, and long. Israelis will never like baseball- american football however, has a chance to take off in Israel. IFL!

This is an exciting item. Just to correct one misstatement - it was Daniel Kurtzer, former US Ambassador to Israel, who was the IBLcommissioner in 2007, not former ambassador Martin Indyk, who was neither a manager nor held any other post.

also born and bred american....baseball stands no chance here unless steriods are legalized and there is a huge influx of hispanics or asians....american football has a much better chance...

Considering how most Israelis drive I believe NASCAR would be the best sport to export to Israel!

The extra money to build outside the Center of the country is a great idea. How about an incentive not to cause mechalel Shabbat?

Thank you for this. This song combined with the article of the NY Yankees making Aliyah will be a big hit with my religious school class in Baltimore :)
