1. Not only religious Jews have a strong bond
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.26.10)
Seculars can have this too . The Kotel is a part of OUR History , as is Jerusalem , and the whole country . That's why we have the right to be here : Our HISTORY . What a great moment it was some 43 years ago , when Gen Narkiss [ i think it was he ] said : הר הבית שלנו. And when Rav Goren , at the Kotel , blew the Shofar . Never to forget !
2. Charles :-) thanks

3. 1.5 billion Muslims are longing to pray in Al-Aqsa
observer   (09.26.10)
if allowing 1/1000 of those is a tremendous problem, why Israel doesn't leave and Jews build inside Israel where plenty of room is there.

What was the first: an egg , a hen or a BBQ chicken? Islam became religion After Christianity and After Judaism. Your ancestors built Al-Aqsa on the remains of the Jewish Temple. But they were in a hurry or just couldn't destroy the numerous evidences of the previous ownership. Jews claim what belong to them. Jews didn't invade Jerusalem. They are Jerusalem. Arabs pray in Mecca and Medina. 1.5 billion Muslims will never pray in Al-Aqsa because it's an absurdity. Every year people are killed in the pilgrimage in Mecca. Take off your rosy glasses and be honest with yourself. All these facts are easy verifiable: * On July 31, 1987, Iranian pilgrims riot, causing the deaths of over 400 people. * On July 9, 1989, two bombs exploded, killing one pilgrim and wounding another 16. Saudi authorities beheaded 16 Kuwaiti Shiite Muslims for bombings after originally blaming Iranian terrorists. * July 2, 1990 : A stampede inside a pedestrian tunnel (Al-Ma'aisim tunnel) leading out from Mecca towards Mina, Saudi Arabia and the Plains of Arafat led to the deaths of 1,426 pilgrims. * May 23, 1994 : A stampede killed at least 270 pilgrims at the stoning of the Devil ritual. * April 9, 1998: at least 118 pilgrims were trampled to death and 180 injured in an incident on Jamarat Bridge. * March 5, 2001: Thirty five pilgrims were trampled to death in a stampede during the stoning of the Devil ritual. * February 11, 2003: The stoning of the Devil ritual claimed 14 pilgrims' lives. * February 1, 2004: 251 pilgrims were killed and another 244 injured in a stampede during the stoning ritual in Mina. Hundreds dead in Hajj stampede * January 12, 2006: A stampede during the ritual ramy al-jamarāt on the last day of the Hajj in Mina killed at least 346 pilgrims and injured at least 289 more. This count didn't include big fire in 1997. Say thank you to Israeli police taking a good care of the two sided problem.
5. To 3 , observer . Muslims can build a new mosque
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.27.10)
They have more than enough space in all their countries . Besides this Jerusalem was NEVER visited by a Saudi Arab ruler , believers i think , during the illegal occupation by Jordan from 1948 to 1967 . So NOT so holy to them .
6. Yeah, seculars like Moshe Dayan, who gave it back to Arabs!!
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.27.10)
7. 6 The alternative??
Tahl   (09.27.10)
Yeah, Israel should have kept Temple Mount and built a Temple there. We all know how that ended those last 2 times (epic FAIL). Are you begging for destruction??
8. 7 Very insightful question
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.27.10)
The same forces to which Dayan caved would still prevent building a third temple on Har ha-Bayit even if we had retained possession and control. The main differences would be that [1] Yehudim would be able to pray on Har ha-Bayit and [2] we would have a bit (admittedly not much) more leverage in persuading the world that we should build the prophesied international Beit K'nesset (i.e., Beit Tephilah: House of Prayer, vide Yeshayahu 56.7) "for all kindreds" on the site of the original Beit ha-Miqdash ha-Rishon (English: the first House of Holiness)--about 100m north of the gold-domed mosque. Archeologists have shown this both from the original foundation that was photographed (photos, published in Biblical Archeology Review years ago, accessible in our website History Museum=>Pharisee Judaism Pages) before the Arabs took bulldozers to it as well as an analysis of the locations of subsurface drainage and cisterns (archeologists' scale diagrams in our website History Museum=>Pharisee Judaism Pages). (I know, the consensus of rabbis remain stubbornly ignorant or indifferent to archeology, science and fact). A "third temple" with sacrifices contravenes Torah because the Romans destroyed all of the yukhasin, which are indispensably essential for any Kohein to be legitimate to offer sacrifices in a Beit ha-Miqdash. (Every kohein today lacks a proper genealogy in the no-longer-existent yukhasin and, therefore, is ceremonially acceptable only; not legitimate to offer sacrifices.) Therefore, no sacrifices can ever again be compatible with Torah requirements. The solution was prophesied: an international--Judaic (i.e., Orthodox)--Beit K'nesset / Tephilah "for all kindreds," which doesn't threaten the gold-domed (or silver-domed) mosque is the sole eventual key to bringing peace. Unlike Xnity, the mosques are not avodah zarah (idolatrous) and the Arabs are our cousins. This is a major accomodation that is needed by Yehudim, elevating our cousins above the rest of the kindreds. On the other hand, until Yehudim, exclusively, control Har ha-Bayit there cannot be peace. 9. 8 - how convenient and tidy
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (09.27.10)
"I know, the consensus of rabbis remain stubbornly ignorant or indifferent to archeology, science and fact" - ok, i'm convinced they know what they're talking about.... oh, i forgot. you cherry-pick the rabbis when it suits you. slavishly follow them one moment, completely disregard them at another. isn't that special?.
10. Correction to my # 1
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.27.10)
It was Motta Gur who said those Historicall words : הר הבית בידנו . The temple mount is in our hands
11. 8 Rubbish
Tahl   (09.27.10)
You negate Torah to the point of irrelevancy. That's the problem with you cult types out there in left field, making even the crazy Messianics look like they are same and normal.
12. To #3 1.5 billion Muslims don't give a crap about Al Aqsa
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (09.27.10)
When Al Aqsa was under the control of the Jordanians, the Muslims stayed away by the millions. How can you explain that?
13. 11 Instead of baseless charges, document some specifics
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.28.10)
You've given nothing but ad hominems, which is vacuous. By contrast, I document what I write and it's well attested by scholars... it is you who is secular and ignorant of Torah, pinning baseless opinions on secular misconceptions of Torah.
14. 11 Also...
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.28.10)
I gave you the benefit of the doubt but... When you relegate science, logic, archeology and historical documentation--the basis of all of my writings--to "cult type" you have well defined which of us is the cult type, which is sane and normal and which is completely out of their gourd.
15. 14 You don't Give me anything, I deserve it
Tahl   (09.28.10)
Your science, logic etc is dubious at best. Anyone can "prove" anything if the cite the Professors and books they personally prefer. Your "sane & normal" is a relative term because it is outside normal and also Judaism. Show me where in Judaism is your Netzarim and Ribi Yehochua and I'll listen to you. Goodbye.
16. censored
observer   (09.28.10)
Jerusalem was the center of pilgrimage, and Arab, Muslim and Christian leaders came to venerate there, until being forbidden to enter by the Jews, while [first PM] David Ben Gurion went to New York before he came to visit Jerusalem, and [first President] Haim Weitzman hated the city. Saudi Arabia–aside from a very brief border war in the 1930′s–has never invaded another country since its creation. Meanwhile, Israel has attacked, invaded, and occupied numerous countries, and utilized state terror to kill and displace millions of people. If you count the number of civilians killed and displaced by Israel, and compare it to those killed/displaced by Saudi Arabia, there is absolutely no comparison. Israel wins by a landslide. Three million Muslims make there pilgrimage to Makka every year, and more than 3 millions go for pilgrimage there every Ramadan each year, accidents do happen especially with all that crowed over several days in a limited space of land, so what?
17. Observer : the BIG LIAR
Charles ,   Petach Tiukva   (09.29.10)
Israel was ALWAYS attacked . Jews could'nt come to the Kotel from 1948 to 67 . The Saudi ruler NEVER came to Jerusalem during the jordanian occupation . Tell me wich countries Israel has occupied for other reasons as defense when attacked . Israel has killed millions of people ?
18. Charles#17, Israel displaced only one million of people?
observer   (09.29.10)
Saudi Arabia is not Custodian of Islam. All Muslims are equal regardless whether black, white or yellow, whether born Muslims or Converts.
19. 18 , Israel did'nt deplace one million people
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.29.10)
I . a secular and not a millionaire as the Saudi ruler , the first occasion i had to come to Israel , visited the liberated Western wall . This because thyis wall is part of my people's History . So , if someone , a fortunate ruler of a muslim state , who has to be an example for his people , if he does'nt visit this site , it simply means that this site is NOT holy enough for him , and the muslims . You did'nt answer : wich countries did Israel invade . You're still a LIAR , as always .
