1. Let my people build and live !!
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (09.26.10)
2. It was a mistake to Stop construction.
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (09.26.10)
Never Again. Go and make Israel more fantastic. The Hell with Obama negativism.
3. This short-sighted nonsense is on my nerves....
Andy Marcus ,   Washington, DC   (09.26.10)
I am a zionist with all my heart. I support Israel, agree that the Jewish State must be protected and lead in a way that guarantees its future forever. But the decision on whether to continue the freeze must be made by Benjamin Netanyahu, who is engaged in very sensitive negotiations for peace, that may never, ever lead to anything. If a freeze to give these negotiations more of a chance, no kindergardener is going to die if the freeze continues for another 6 months or even a year. If it means that the Palestinians will agree that Israel IS the Jewish state that never will be flooded by so-called "refugees" then to give that up to build kindergardens now is just plain stupid. I hope Bibi has the balls to realize this, and if the negotiations fail, let it be because the Palestinians do it. Not the Jews. Abas will win the PR argument, the script, if he gets to say that Israel prefers settlements over peace. Bibi must not let that be the script. So, the freeze should continue and make the Palestinians screw this up on their own - just like Arafat did in 2000. Or, let it succeed. Let Israel be smart with PR for once. Nobody is going to die with the freeze in place a little longer. This is just one man's view - so spare me the venom about how awful the Palestinian lie machine is. I already know and I agree. This is PR. And Israel must win.
4. Build Build One-State !!!
Ramzi ,   Ramallah, Palestine   (09.26.10)
Thanks to all the Palestinian-hating Settlers! You make our job easier in pushing for the One-State! It's coming thanks to you.... BUILD BUILD!
5. A kindergarten! How evil...
Adam   (09.26.10)
The "settlers" need to show heir desire for peace by stopping these provocations such as teaching their children. Look to the Palestinians for a model of peaceful actions. For example, the Palestinians frequently engage in spontaneous landscaping by the throwing of stones.
6. to number 4
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.26.10)
i do not like these settlers either.... but you are jordanian. go home!
7. yours land? but, G-d didn't tell us that
observer   (09.26.10)
8. For or against the freeze,
Ginette Golden ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.26.10)
I DON'T CARE! I just never tire to hear the Hatikva! Shavouah tov.
9. # 3
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.26.10)
You dont get it. The Palestinians want Israel to put a TOTAL freeze on building in Judea & Samaria because ultimately they want that land for themselves.
10. Build. Keep building. Stop for no one.
Heather Czerniak ,   Mississauga, ON, CA   (09.26.10)
Keep building settlements. That's right. Now build some more. Don't stop building for a foreign leader whose time in office will end in another two years. Build for your children, your elderly, those to come and for yourselves.
11. Wwhere there is a will, there is a way
Terry Feld ,   Houston, Texas   (09.26.10)
If the Paleos wanted a peaceful settlement, it would have happened a long time ago. They believed and still believe that the land is theirs and that they and or their Mooslim brothers will push the Jews out. They fully believe that eventually "Palestine" will be Judenrein. Please accept the reality of this. And Act accordingly.
12. If a squatter ...
Patrick ,   Montreal Canada   (09.26.10)
If a squatter poops out a baby in Palestine ... shouldn't that baby be Palestinian?
13. Mind your own business
Patrick ,   Montreal Canada   (09.26.10)
The place is called Palestine, for a reason. The people who belong there are Palestinians. So Harry Truman was a fanatical bible-beater who thought okaying the occupation of Palestine was a good idea. He was wrong. And so are you. Free Palestine! Now and for forever.
14. Time to wake up...
Baruch ,   Marin County, CA   (09.26.10)
It's time to wake up, folks. The settlements were put there 30 or so years ago as a security barrier against Soviet expansionism in the region. I dunno if anybody can remember how all this got started, but lemme remind you that it wasn't a religious imperative. The datim were essentially used in order to live out there in caravans often in the freezing cold of winter and with no heat, while dodging bullets and stones on their way to jobs in Jerusalem. It was an easy sell given their firm religious beliefs. However, with the Soviet Union out of the picture, there is little else left to justify the settlements except religion. And of course, religious convictions can be interpreted in any way one sees fit. The speeches given by MK's and various representatives of the Yesha council at this event refer to the ancient Israelites being commanded by the almighty to conquer the Land of Israel. Whether rightly or wrongly, the same fiery rhetoric is employed by many in the Islamic world to justify driving out the Jews from the modern state of Israel. The religious aspects of this dispute are irrelevant to solving the question to whom the territories rightfully belong. There has to be a security imperative that trumps this argument or else this dispute will drag on and on with more brutal killings, more hate, more discord, more confusion, and more lies being told. Lest I remind anyone, the purpose of having a state is to act in accordance with the law in order to be recognized as having justifiable reasons for the use of military force should the need arise. The strategic genius of the settlements was in preventing the widening of a conflict that could have been catastrophic. I don't think anyone could have visualized the swiftness of the collapse of the Soviet Union, however, it did happen rather quickly. The settlements and the settlers served a purpose. The Palestinians were cut off at the pass - a kind of bypass road to world peace. One would think that both the settlers and the Pals would recognize their accomplishment in this regard alone and try to work this dispute out together. They both have a common history now, whether they want to realize it or not. The problem today is that both sides of this conflict are being played against one another by regimes such as Iran with the assistance of the propaganda mavens in Moscow. It is a kind of new and improved cold war - a PR war - yet nevertheless a war which costs lives. Religion should be kept out of this at all costs. It only helps to bolster the hand of those who wish to foment discord based on religious reasons. Where propagandists failed at godlessness, they are picking up where they left off by using religion and faith in order to destabilize the region. It is unfortunate that the victory accomplished in the 1980's at great sacrifice has not yet been realized. Perhaps if we discussed the history of the territories in the modern sense rather than falling back to biblical history to explain our emotional ties to the Yehuda and Shomron, then we can find a way to be proud of our contribution to world peace rather than becoming ensnared by carefully laid traps of propagandists. Hag Sameach.
15. Unlike Gush Katif, the freeze experiment is reversable. It
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.26.10)
was a futile effort and the "pals" used 90% of it to do nothing for peace. Now that it is over, it will never have to be done again, B"H. Build my settlers, build and make Israel stronger.
16. I, a none Jew, joins the event from Germany. There is only
Fred ,   Germany   (09.26.10)
on small country in which Jews feel at home, yet some attempt to take even this home from them without any justification. Please, accept my congratulations, brothers.
17. Build build and build some more...Obama is history
Al   (09.26.10)
What Obama the dufus didnt understand is once he showed his hatred towards Jews and Israel his presidency was finished. He is finished..witness the fact that Rahmbo Emanual is running back to Chicago. The rats are leaving a sinking and stinking ship.
18. 2 state solution US policy since 1947's UN 181
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.26.10)
US policy has never changed since 47 but OK if a President don't push the issue to hard like Bush, even if he setup Roadmap with freeze in it. Zionist and setters have a very loud voice but not sure if that will stop the arms race coming to the ME in the next 10yrs. 100B dollar deal maybe on table soon to sell F-15/F16s to Iraq, since US leaving end of next year. That should create alot of US jobs if EU doesn't sign deal first.
19. the Holy bible/tanach says
Galut ,   Selah   (09.26.10)
the land belongs to the Jews by covenant with God...and will in the end be validated !
20. #16 Fred
Dan ,   Jerusalem   (09.26.10)
Thank You!!
21. "Land of Israel is ours"
Robert Cabitt ,   Boston, MA, USA   (09.26.10)
The rockets will continue to rain on Israel until they elect a prime minister who has the will and the courage to drive the Palestinians and Hamas out of Gaza and the West Bank. When George Bush gives back his Crawford,Texas ranch to the Native Americans is when peace will come to Israel. To the victor goes the spoils. Americans killed thousands of Indians during the conquest of the United States. The Indians that survived were placed in concentration camps euphemistically described as reservations where alcoholism and unemployment reigns. Since the Bureau of Indians Affairs has granted gambling casino licenses, some Indian tribes have prospered. Maybe gambling casinos are the solution for the Palestinians
22. Failed peace talks
Joseph ,   West Bank   (09.26.10)
These peace talks have failed, Israel is more interested in settlements than peace. It is clear Israelis do not support a two-state solution...so the only remaining solution is a one-state solution for all--Arab and Jew. I look forward to becoming an Israeli citizen with equal rights and Arabs comprising 50% of the Knesset. This is what Israelis prefer and us Palestinians have given up hope on a viable two-state solution ever happening.
23. GO BUILD INSIDE OF ISRAEL
Michael ,   USA   (09.26.10)
Go build your damn settlements inside of Israel's recognized borders. There is plenty of land in the Negev. Go develop there and leave the Palestinians alone for god's sake. The only reason you build in the West Bank is to provoke the Palestinians and prevent them from having an independent state. The World, who is tired of this conflict, knows which side is ANTI-PEACE--and it is Israel.
24. 'Hussein Obama, Land of Israel is ours'
David ,   San Francisco, USA   (09.26.10)
The Mandate for Palestine Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have also agreed that the Mandatory should be responsible for putting into effect the declaration originally made on November 2nd, 1917, by the Government of His Britannic Majesty, and adopted by the said Powers, in favor of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people... Whereas recognition has thereby been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country... ARTICLE 2. The Mandatory shall be responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home, as laid down in the preamble, and the development of self-governing institutions, and also for safeguarding the "civil and religious rights" of all the inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race and religion. ARTICLE 5. The Mandatory shall be responsible for seeing that no Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of the Government of any foreign Power. ARTICLE 6. The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in cooperation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes.
25. int community will not ...???what?
Anna Maria Sedda ,   Italy   (09.26.10)
international community will NOT ECCEPT ANOTHER FREEZE!!!!!INTERN COMTY STAND WITH RIGHT FOR JEWISH PEOPLE TO BUILD LIKE EVERYONE DOES...
26. racists' calls
observer   (09.26.10)
using the second name of the guy is obviously racial blackmail. Mesika!, do you know that people are equal in Islam, nothing like born Muslim. Yours land? but, G-d never tells us that. Are you representative of G-d, or just a chosen? Scripture records that Ishmael, Abraham's son, became a great nation, that he begot twelve princes, also that the six son of Keturah (Genesis 25:1), possessed much greater areas of land than Israel. And undoubtedly these observed the rite of circumcision handed down to them by their fathers. Jews pride themselves tremendously on having received the land of Canaan, the city of Jerusalem, and the temple from G-d. G-d has often squashed such boasting and arrogance, especially through the king of Babylon, who led them away into captivity and destroyed everything (just as the king of Assyria earlier had led all of Israel away and had laid everything low). Finally they were exterminated and devastated by the Romans over fourteen hundred years ago — so that they might well perceive that G-d did not regard, nor will regard, their country, city, temple, priesthood, or principality, and view them on account of these as his own peculiar people. they would soon be expelled from the land and perish if they did not keep G-d's commandments.
27. Greetings from Norway. We love you, Israelis!
Eva ,   Oslo   (09.26.10)
28. re24:PA refugees included per UN and 1 state solution then
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.26.10)
All people and their children would be included per UN, who lived then when A Mandate was dissolved an UN 181 voted for in1947. Israel both gains and loses by applying A Mandate or UN 181 but that depends if US will continue to block UNSC votes, which Obama now controls.
29. Bevin-Obama
Vitenberg ,   FRANCE   (09.26.10)
Bravo for resuming building But "Hussein Obama" is useless and inappropriate, "Bevin Obama" would surely have been better. The french minister Kouchner spoke in a much more aggressive tone. You want to say: "Israel Kouchner"?
30. Dear Gslut--Selah! The land had/has been validated. >
KATE ,   ISRAEL   (09.26.10)
We were here a long time ago, even after the Roman expulsion NOT ALL Jews packed up and leFT on masse hundreds stayed and why we have had a presence in THIS OUR HOLY ISRAEL since never to be abandoned. Our inheritance for ever Selah G*D be praised even during our afflictions I am sure HE has not forgotten us HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE.Were it not for our Holy Bible and its TEN COMMANDMENTS that Christians follow too is that not proof enough? We are in our land, and build no matter where we deem to do so. I live in Tel-Aviv,were as our enemies would even steal it. As for Judea and Samaria calling it-- West Bank is unforgivable.Who ever ever heard of west bank before.Gaza too is ours, they know it but still persist in their dreams of stealing all our land. Can they? not in MILLIONS OF YEARS. Am Yisrael Chai!!!!!!!!!
