31. #19 OMG Sarah...you've got a point there!
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (09.28.10)
What if Iranian rockets have been re-programmed.... ...Ahmadinejad and the Mad Mullahs better think twice before
32. I find it very interesting and amusing, that
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.28.10)
the worlds "news leader" CNN has absolutely NOTHING to say about this whole story...too bad dear Christiane Amanpour, that your Iranian darlings have got a little spanking...

It's all over every other news network (except possibly -- no, probably -- Iran's Fars agency). Any truth to what they are saying here in the States that Siemens acknowledges that the virus has spread elsewhere -- Taiwan, Uzbekistan -- but is dormant and owners of Siemens software outside of Iran do not need to worry as this was a very specific attack directed exclusively at Iran? What I appreciate most is that everyone is marveling at the sheer genius and sophistication of the virus. One computer expert interviewed this morning said that anyone who could craft a virus this extraordinary could get into any computer anywhere in the world (except for places like the CIA, NSA, Lawrence Livermore or the CERN particle accelerator facility, which are completely self-contained and have no external links). Of course, all it would take is someone on the inside with a USB flash drive, but that's a supposition for another day.
34. #8 - Iran using IBM 8088s??
William ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
Where did they find them? In the Computer history museum or in the trash heap behind MIT?
35. #12 - depends how much Siemens can work with iran
William ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
Many companies already pulled out due to the sanctions, especially if they could be tied to Iran's nuke program. Even if Iran's willing to pay - and hey, why not, they're not pouring profits back into the welfare and infrastructure of their own population - it might be hard to move the cash.
36. #17 - Saddam lost because of Saddam
William ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
It wasn't Iranian capability, which during the Iran-Iraq war was really crap, that won the war, Sidney. It was Saddam's shear incompetance and control over the entire campaign from his palace. Iraqi commanders on the ground weren't even able to lead an attack without his approval, and Saddam led them time and again into the hands of the Iranians. There's a great documentary on it. Besides the Iranian dated hardware, their major tactic was to send hundreds of thousands of kids into mine fields to clear the way for troops. It's not humane but I agree, it's a tactic still used today...by Hamas and Hizbullah.

Nah, that was purely for effect. I just wanted to contrast Iran's top of the line computers with Israel's better-than-Cray-supercomputers. 8088 seemed to be the best candidate .... I do apologize.
38. THE PLEASURE FOR SARAH.........#26
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.28.10)
Short-lived as it is will soon blow on her face.God knows where she is picking on the news from but, once again, everything happens to be normal in Iran.I don't need to add any more of talk-back for Sarah but all readers should remain as a witness to her fancy conclusion of having......................interrupted Iranian Nuclear activities by 10 years!!! What a farce.
39. #38 What's ''everything happens to be ....
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (09.28.10)
normal'' in Iran, Mahmood? The suffering people? the human rights atrocities? The stonings? The anti-opposition pogroms? The homophobic hangings? etc etc.. Do you believe in your heart that Teheran officials would admit to anything other than 'everything being normal' ...even having been eaten by this worm? You should be delighted that your family over there is safe, at least for now...
40. ***Sarah*** at 33, I never thought, that I
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.28.10)
could love a virus...but now I do...!!!!
41. #40 Me too, Chris!

Dream on. Israel has slaughtered Iran, with nary a drop of blood shed. As opposed to your conflict with Iraq, during which nearly one million Iranians died. We are SOOOOO good. Eat your heart out, loser. Now, repeat after me: AM ISRAEL CHAI V'KAYAM!! Iran is dead in the water. If you wish to delude yourself further, please feel free, but .... a reality check is in order for you. You've been defeated. Roll over and die.

Reduced to its lowest common denominator, the fact remains that Israel has triumphed over a great evil. Not a single entity anywhere in the world has been damaged or hurt. The target was Iran; the target is dead. Everyone else is alive and well. THANK G-D!!!
