1. WHAT!?
Israeli ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
"Iran's state TV says the country's powerful Revolutionary Guard has received its first three squadrons of radar-evading flying boats which were developed to collect intelligence and perform attack missions." On which planet? These low flying boats are nothing new and most definitely not "radar evading" (i.e.-Stealth), just look at that flat bottom reflecting all the radar energy back to the source...
2. Targets for pigeon shooting? Lucky IDF!
Ram ,   London   (09.28.10)
3. JSF or F16 vs Bavar-2..
Dan Guralnek ,   Brisbane Australia   (09.28.10)
Like shooting fish in a barrel. I pitty the sucker that has to fly one of those modern ancient contraptions. Next thing you know, they will invent a plane made with a light timber frame and rice paper as the skin of the body. Israel will have to reinvent the spear, rock or bow and arrow to take it down.
4. I'd like to own one of them!
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (09.28.10)
Maybe the IDF can bring a few souvenirs home?
5. flying boat is a good idea but it cant avoid radar
zionist forever   (09.28.10)
I doubt that it can avoid radar thats a claim Iran makes about everything they create no matter how big or small. If it can fly and if its made in Iran its undetectable by radar. The idea of flying boats though is one thats been neglected by the west. The flying boat idea might be an old one but sometimes its more practical than land based vehicles. For carriers they are much better as the do not take deck space and they are designed to take off and land in the water so they can just be easily towed whilst not in use.
6. :: Irana has just discovered a new Water Ski sport
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (09.28.10)
This is the only thing these toys are good for.
7. :: It looks like an Israeli drone
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (09.28.10)
Just that Iranian regime has no idea how to fly it unmanned.
8. Those guys are nuts...maybe they have
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.28.10)
been subjected not only to a cyber attack...he heh ehe...
9. It's so funny - was this plane built in the 40's?
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (09.28.10)
i honestly don't think the mad Iranian masters have a clue about the might of Israel alone!
10. GOOD NEWS
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.28.10)
As it gives an opportunity to people like Sarah to comment upon. She has nothing else to do except monitor news about Iran. She would definitely deny this article followed by comments.Iranians have developed these planes. How helpful they are is what Sarah..............sorry,Hal(which could be Sarah herself) to comment on.
11. a good idea
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.28.10)
We don't know much about these aircraft, but if they work they are perfect to attack targets on the Saudi cost, in the Straits of Hormuz or the American navy in case of American aggression against Iran.
12. Are they going to GillinganĀ“s island?
Daniel   (09.28.10)
13. This 'aircraft' is advanced?
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (09.28.10)
....looks like an Everglade's airboat
14. Mahmood, better get some sleep....
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (09.28.10)
......you're not having a very good day. Things might appear brighter tomorrow.
15. Ive always wanted one..Where can I buy?
Mr Green ,   Manchester   (09.28.10)
16. Looks like something out of the 1930s
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.28.10)
I sure hope that the Iranians really think that is some sort of 'stealth' aircraft. Because it will certainly show up on our radar systems. A single inline pusher propeller engine aircraft will fly at about 100-150 kts. Making it slower than most military helicopters. They better build thousands just for a single mission. What a joke.
17. #13,Mark, Thank you for explaining my
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.28.10)
de'ja' vu feeling...
18. Not so stupid ,...
split ,   USA   (09.28.10)
if you think that it's going to take a million Dollar sophisticated missile to take down a 500 Dollars worth of piece a junk like this one ,...
19. I have to admit, playing with those looks like fun!
Scott ,   USA   (09.28.10)
Until a 50 caliber machinegun hits it.
20. It's built on the premise of WWII kamikazies
William ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
I wonder how many children will be placed inside to attack the "enemies" and make way for the IRG.
21. Isn't this those kits from back of Popular Mechanics?
William ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
I think I remember one of these things, along with ultralights, sold as kits for $1000 in the back of Popular Mechanics. Iran just made them "advanced" by giving each pilot a suicide vest and a cool Islamist logo on the side.
22. these are called WIG aircraft- nothing new here
bob ,   NZ   (09.29.10)
google ''WIG aircraft'' for information. An aircraft has much less drag when flying very close to the ground- these WIG aircraft take advantage of that fact. Some seabirds do as well. The model shown in these Ynet photos has been around since about the 1970s-80s I think from memory. The unusual shape is dictated by stability and efficiency considerations and has nothing to do with the type of ''stealth'' technology which works by deflecting radar waves
23. OH!! THE POLISH.........................#14
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.29.10)
How come you are still in Poland? Didn't make it to Israel or what? I am definitely having a very good day,of course and will have a sound sleep as well. But I am sure I have hit the bull's eye.:)
24. #10 Madmood Rising
Hal ,   Usa   (09.29.10)
Duh! What would you expect from buffoonish news from the Buffoonish Republic of Iran? I'm surprised that you are actually putting your head back on the proverbial chopping block once again. Have you learned nothing? Flying boats are a nice touch if you are hunting alligators in the Florida Everglades Mahmood, but if you drink the Iranian Kool-Aid you should expect a drubbing come "Hammering Time". Mahmood, you need to stop getting your hopes up over the "Rocky & Bullwinkle" technological leaps by the Buffoonislamic Empire of you mind. It is not good for your mental health in the long run and only contributes to your slide into "crazy talk". Have a nice day in any event!
25. #23 Badmood
Hal ,   Usa   (09.29.10)
Aw Mahmood, are you feeling a little racist today? Bad Bad Mood! Why are you in London? Can't live your "lifestyle in the Islamic Paradiso? You should take your Carnival act of shooting yourself in the foot to one of those tawdry cable tv channels that specialize in poking fun at the common man. Maybe it will lift your rather depressed spirits old boy. Or, maybe you would volunteer to test fly one of those flying boats on a kamikaze mission. Cheerio!
