There are no reports of violence from these people delivering aid yet it would seem that the IDF were unnecessarily violent. If the IDF can attack and assault their own it is no wonder that they needlessly killed nine non-Jewish civilians in the previous flotilla attack.

It would be interesting to know if there was actually any "humanitarian" aid on this boat, and how much. I daresay it was one big publicity stunt, as I believe that Gaza residents aren't lacking too much, and whatever they do lack, the tunnel smugglers can bring it in underground (and get rich off it, btw).

First, if there is no controversy there is no news. All this money spent to run the "blockade" nobody cares about would be wasted for nothing. So, controversy must be created. Second, if blockade runner does not get punished it does encourage more of the same. I say, if you did not tase them you should've. Additionally, make them jump through every possible burocratic hurtle before they can get their lives back. These guys must leave Israel and never dare to come back.

According to the Geneva Convention, a civilian is one who does not partake in violence or military operations. Based on the video and testimonies, these activists knew very well they were breaking a legal war-time blockade (making them a military operation) and attacked IDF soldiers before they ever hit the deck (making them military operatives). Some were smuggling in envelopes of cash - against circumventing the blockade (making them criminal smugglers). I'd say - this makes them anything BUT civilians. The only civilians on this flotilla were on the other boats!

We know they had several angles covered during the whole operation, including top down.

On Sukkot we are reminded of how everyone is either the ethrog, lulav, hadassim, or aravot. This includes every Jew from the best and sweetest to the worst and tasteless. We all atone for each other and we are all Israel even the ones that live in Diaspora like me :). They are doing it for our sake even if we don't see it that way because they still love us and want to redeem us from things they believe are wrong. I know that we are free thinking people and we have to accept them with all their flaws and also deal with their actions according to the Law.
