1. hey, so you think we're all stupid..?!
tom ,   tel aviv   (09.29.10)
As the hebrew saying goes: "so he said, so he lived on..." Never mind that on paper Lieberman is right. Anyone in his right mind thinks that these "accidents" happen un-planned? It's tiresome to have to see through these endless, quite primitive political maneuverings of world's politico's. So he has said it and remained alive....
2. Damage
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (09.29.10)
As usual, it's Barak, the most inept person in Israel who is harming the State. Lieberman says with no panic what Barak doesn't even dare to think! He is a puppet from Obama's government and the people of Israel has already judged him. Be aware Bibi, you may sink in the same boat!!!
3. Speech of the Devil
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.29.10)
Lieberman says in public what most Israeli Jews think in private...how do we get rid of the Arabs...what is the final solution?
4. Lieberman tells the truth and the left absolutely hates it.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.29.10)
Lieberman is not the one who shames Israel. Labor has been doing that for decades and Kadima, since it's birth. Lieberman tells the truth. Most of Israel appreciates Lieberman's courage and honesty. However, the left absolutely hates it. Leftist ideology is build on layer upon layer of lies and distortions. That is why the left is infallibly wrong on every major issue. That is why the left is being voted out of existence. Lieberman, on the other hand, has a very bright political future.
5. Nothing new here, this government is a circus
Nour ,   Palestine   (09.29.10)
And Lieberman is the bouncer turned clown in it. He seams to have carved a nice niche in this circus, sabotaging every effort at a negotiated settlement. He is apparently itching for the institutionalized apartheid scenario which he would benefit from being a settler thug himself! Someone needs to remind him this will not fly with us?
6. Fire Him!
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (09.29.10)
It's time for Lieberman to go!
7. Netanyahu is the master of gimmicks
Chris ,   USA   (09.29.10)
8. Ha ha ha, a real joker of the world
Al Mujahid   (09.29.10)
How could a foreign minister express his personal political views before the UN rather than the official views of the government he is part of? You embarrass yourself, the PM, and your country. You can speak whatever you want to either when you are elected the PM next time or when you have left the current government and become an opposition leader.
9. Netanyahu is the master of gimmicks
Chris ,   USA   (09.29.10)
10. Im sorry, I agree with Lieberman
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (09.29.10)
To me it seems that the only one telling the truth is Lieberman. Yes Israel wants peace, but the Arabs are not ready for peace, their violent religion does not allow for it, so why do we keep on lying to ourselves. Give it a few decades or centuries, maybe Islam will change its way, then try for peace again. Please note: when the Jewish religion was young, Jews ran around skirmishing and wiping out nations (Today Jews have matured to a self defence mode.) When Christianity was young, they too were vicious and had those crusaders & did much harm to others (Today Christianity is coming out of the appeasement phase into the self-defence level). Islam (only 1400 years) is still a young and an aggressive religion. Looks like we going to have to give it time to mature and become more peaceful one, with a higher respect level for human life and freedoms then they have now. CNN, BBC Sky & Aljazira, your future looks prosperous.
11. Labor Is Ideologically Bankrupt
Armchair General ,   Wisconsin, USA   (09.29.10)
Ten years ago Ehud Barak(Labor and Meretz) tried to give away to Yasser Arafat nearly half of Israel. What Barak got for his troubles was the second intifada with over 1,000 dead Israelis, thousands more wounded and maimed, and thousands more dead "Palestinian Arabs." This did not benefit anyone. This article verges on gossip, if it is not outright so. Where is the news? Labor has fewer than 10 MKs in the coalition. Israel Beitenu has something like 15. The reason why Barak is more involved in the current talks is that Obama, State Dept., and probably Defense want it that way. He is more useful as far as they are concerned. And Ehud Barak likes the power accorded to him by the Americans. They would like to replace Israel Beitenu with Kadima. Playing with internal Israeli politics. What did Avigdor Lieberman say in his UN speech which is wrong? He talked of the incitement and hatred of Israel taught to Arab children. Peace does not follow. Challenge Lieberman's statements on the merits if you want to challenge them.
12. Lieberman's speech
Brod ,   USA   (09.29.10)
There is no report on his speech. What is the cry about his speech? Only the Leftists seem to cry baby on his speech. Israel is fortunate to have strong leaders like Lieberman.
13. Dumb article. So what the hell did he say?
Sami ,   New York, USA   (09.29.10)
So what the hell did he say? Dumb article.
14. NO! NOT GOOD!
Israeli 2   (09.29.10)
Everyone should at this point back Lieberman! All he said was the truth!!! To me: NO more BIBI! NO MORE BARAK, NO MORE ANYBODY Only Lieberman
15. Just a politician doing what politicians do...
Baruch ,   Marin County, CA   (09.29.10)
Gosh, ya know this is getting really interesting. Practically everyone in Israel it seems is beating their chest and rumbling about what to do with the Arabs. And leaders pop up from time to time to proclaim to have the answer: From Kahane to Lieberman - all these guys seem to know what to do with millions of Arabs. And then we go through this arcane, ritual hate-fest, complete with intricately woven designs on how to rid ourselves of these people living in our midst. It's really getting to be very, very old, ladies and gentlemen. Either do it or shut up already. But now, this charade has been going on for far too long and has sucked the whole world into its vortex - perfect for aspiring politicians. And yet it has now become the brunt of jokes. Videos are popping up of IDF soldiers being scared by nothing more than loudspeakers intentionally set off by Arabs in the Old City in order to film the soldiers running for cover. It's almost become fashionable to disprove the right wing's bravado. All this big brave talk by guys like Lieberman about tossing out the Arabs is wearing thin. They aren't about to do anything of the sort, and so they should just knock it off already. Enough is enough. True love of country is expressed best by the quality of its justice, not the fiery rhetoric of political opportunists. Not always is justice easy to dispense either. It is often required during times when human nature would have one act differently. But of course, Lieberman's just a politician. What did anybody expect? Let's get back to being a normal nation again, shall we? Let's not go the path of failed regimes. It's not very smart and doesn't win friends out there. But of course, who needs friends, when you've got nuts in public office who will gladly entertain you every single day in the media. Anyway, even Ariel Sharon said it. This is kibush, occupation. There's no other way around it. Period. Either deal with it as it is, disengage from it, or throw the undesirables out. Those are the three choices. Now choose which one you want and own it. But for God's sakes, stop driving everyone crazy with this political grandstanding. My 2 cents. Take it or leave it.
16. Bravo FM Lieberman
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (09.29.10)
I support Lieberman's statements if Barak thinks he is causing damage he should look at his own situation after all my opinion is that he is a agent of Obama and the US not a representative of Israel. He is there to prod Bibi in the direction of a US Mideast Plan. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
17. If anyone thinks that abbas was serious about peace, I have
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.29.10)
a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you at a bargain price. The "peace" negotiations were never anything more than going through the motions to please our muslum president obumma who thinks he walks on water and can make Israel give back everything hard won in multiple wars with the blood of brave Jews. Spare me criticism of the truth.
18. MK Lieberman does represent Israel
em ,   TC   (09.29.10)
and moreover, his voice echoes the thoughts of the Israeli citizens. This attack on him only shows the world our disarray
19. The TRUTH
Harry ,   Jerusalem   (09.29.10)
What bothers people, is that Lieberman speaks the TRUTH. Everyone has their heads up their behind and are blinded. Israelis brought this disaster on themselves. Who resurrected the PLO?? Who invited Terrorists into our country?? TRUTH-TRUTH. No one wants to hear the TRUTH.
20. lieberman
sas ,   israel   (09.29.10)
bibi - u r a leader ???????- throw him out NOW.
21. Lieberman for PM !
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.29.10)
It is people like Herzog and the Left in this country that have jeopardised the existence of the State. Barak , Netanyahu are no different except PM pretends to be something else when he would be better suited in Kadima
22. a lot of us feel the opposite
lazer ,   Los Angeles   (09.29.10)
we fee that it is Barak and Bibi who are making insane mistakes in dealing with the arabs. We feel that we must be strong and let them know it. We are the victors, we will dictate peace terms. It just isn't politically correct to say as such, but Libermann says it as it is, not as the media wants him to speak. Sorry 'bout that, boys.
23. HAND OVER YOUR PROBLEMS TO SARAH
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.29.10)
And she will solve your contradictions and come round it,somehow.she is good at it.:)
24. "Lieberman is causing Israel damage"
tiki ,   belgium   (09.29.10)
No, he's NOT. He's trying to safe Israel from a "sellout" by appaising weasels, who call themselves "representatives of the Israeli people. Maybe they are....but they speak only for a small minority, for THE PEOPLE of Israel have spoken; right nationalistic...not left!
25. this guy is genius hahaaaaahaahahahahaaahhaaaaahahahahahahah
(09.29.10)
26. I would feel a good deal more confidence
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (09.29.10)
with Lieberman at the helm than with any other Israeli MK
27. "Lieberman shames his country in public"
AlexB ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.29.10)
What did he say? I watched his entire speech on the un.org website and he didn't say anything crazy. Bring me one "extremist" quote. All the criticism of him coming from Israeli politicians is just posturing. The thing is, Netanyahu agrees with Liberman on most. The difference is, he has to answer to the entire world watching, and Liberman has to answer to practically no one - only to his constituency, who will always praise him. But yeah - Liberman's speech was not extreme.
28. Only one PM at a time please
Ilan ,   Ariel   (09.29.10)
Barak, Lieberman and Peres have no authority to speak in name of the government unless they are speaking with the permission of the PM. Lieberman is using the same norms that Peres and Barak have used, but three wrongs don't make a right.
29. LIberman the iditot
ramallah   (09.29.10)
govenment of iditos from top to bottom
30. Shames our country!
Wise Saba ,   Ma'agalim   (09.29.10)
If anyone shames Israel it is Ehud Barach & his radical anti Israel views. Lieberman said the truth & the leftists don't want to hear that, including Bibi. Next time around Lieberman's party may just get my vote instead of Likud.
