shapira@skynet.be ,   belgium   (09.30.10)
for the failing of the "Peace talks" if they don't continue the "freeze. Here is the "crux.....said even without shame, that's the objective.....how to BLAME Israel for no matter what. It's not about Peace, its about PR, it's the blame game, it's about getting money for free to put in Swiss banks. All this will stop if there would be 'Peace. When is Israel going to stop 'playing along? She's being blamed anyway for everything, no matter what she does, gives or sais. STOP the FARCE.
32. Congradulations Abbas
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (09.30.10)
but you should have quit talks the second one settler walked over the Green Line.
33. Mr. President, we are ready to hear ONE 'historic decision':
Salma ,   Palestine   (09.30.10)
1. Resign 2. dissolve the Palestinian Authority and calls "Israel Lieberman" to control all of the West Bank with its population of course. 3. Demand from the Arab countries ,not to receive any Palestinian refugees, may be expelled from the "Israel". AND TO NOT interference Positive or negative. 4. And foremost, PLO decline to recognize "Israel" and to admit that this was a historic mistake.
34. abbas 'historic decision' start the third intifada .......
JOE ,   KFAR SABA ISRAEL   (09.30.10)
the only thing palestinian knows well is to be shown as poor victims of the so called zionist entity because its easier to get water ,electricity, food ,medical asistance from an external source and depending for good from us than saying WE DEPOSE OUR ARMS AND RECOGNIZE THE STATE OF ISRAEL AS A JEWISH STATE !!!that wont happen afterall the arabs allways started wars !!!we did not END
35. Jehuda # 30 You are so correct. Thank you.
Carmela Avneri ,   Ottawa, ON Canada   (09.30.10)
36. #33 Arab countries will have to receive...
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.30.10)
Palestinian refugees, the same way they're stuck with them now. What you really meant was, don't grant them any rights until.....
37. BRAVO SALMA #33
Alicia Cohen - Chile ,   Santiago   (09.30.10)
Salma, that's exactly what I think. Just dissolve the ANP. Instead of fighting for sovereignty just restart the fight for human and political rights. Israelis still see the present situation as if they were in the 60's or 70's. They still see the Palestinians and Arabs as a bunch of useless and annoying people. Folks, the situation changed. The US has been losing prestige rapidly. Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in weapons (60 billion dollars from the US.. Can you manage to fight them in 5 years?). You are delusional if you think you can survive without the US help, totaly in isolation.

Look sunshine, this is not South Africa, there is no apartheid in Israel/Palestine. In South Africa we live in peace as one nation. You - The Arabs and Israel's are two different nations, thus no apartheid, just known as a conflict, like the other 50 or so taking place around the world today. If what you say will happen (one State), then civil war will take place in Israel, and im sad to tell you, that there will not be many Palestinian people left after that war, most would flee, the others will unfortunately pay the ultimate price. These are facts, so if I were you (and I thank God im not), I would pressure my leaders (PLO) to sign a peace treaty and be quick about it. A home is better then no home at all, and over the last 60 years you couldn’t make up your mind what it is you exactly want; war, home or more money. If you would have, these two nations would have lived in peace along side one another, Jewish & Muslim. Personally I feel that as long as the world throws their hard earned billions at the Palestinians, they will refuse peace, as begging is easier then work, and they haven’t worked a day in their lives, its hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but it isn’t impossible.

Nour is quite correct to use the term “apartheid” in relation to the official Israeli policies of discrimination and ethnic segregation in regard to the native Palestinians living in Israel and the Palestinian occupied territories. “Apartheid” (with a capital ‘A’) is used to describe the official policy of racial segregation formerly practiced in the Republic of South Africa while “apartheid” (with a lowercase ‘a’) can be used to describe a similar form of racial segregation/discrimination in other countries or regions. In this instance “Palestine” and “Israel” are one and the same territory so the term “apartheid” can be applied. It should also be pointed out that the meaning of a word or a given term can change over time the main criterion for this change is ‘common usage’. In relation to the term “apartheid” many notable people have used this term regarding Israeli policy towards the Palestinians eg: Ehud Olmert, Shulamit Aloni, Michael Ben-Yair, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Jimmy Carter etc. In short the term “apartheid” can quite aptly be used to describe the official discrimination and ethnic segregation policies enacted by the Israeli Gov towards the Palestinians, these would include: National identification cards, curfews and the use of seperate roads (eg: Highway 60), the Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law, the West Bank "barrier", etc.
40. Israel is blamed even for its existance.
USA   (09.30.10)
Israel doesn't care and rightfully so. The hell with the talks and the hell with Abbas.
41. sorry Matty
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (09.30.10)
but, there is no Apartheid in Israel, not with a capital A or small cap's ‘a’. You definition is pathetic, and sources like Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is nothing short of absurd, as she is seen as a great racist in South Africa and contradicts her past husband’s deeds. Gaza & the West Bank are not under Israel's Governance at the moment; all restrictions are due to self defence; however Hamas and the PLO respectively are the democratically elected governments in those areas, all other area in dispute are due to conflicts of land issues, resulting in the fact that there is no apartheid but rather a war. I would rather you don’t reply to me though, for your arguments a usually very well worded, but with a tinge of sarcastic racist hogwash.
42. I agree with Noor.One State. But>>
KATE ,   ISRAEL   (09.30.10)
Okay Noor one state it is. However, there's a catch you see. That being: YOU CONVERT TO JUDAISM Throw away your Quran then we can all live happily with each other. How about it Noor? More later
43. To@ 23 Unfortunately they think they are of?>
KATE ,   ISRAEL   (09.30.10)
Are of (FLASELY) of the Philistines. That is how their mind works, but in the wrong direction.Calling themselves "filastin" what a joke. When the real philistines were of Greek origine NO connection to any Arabs or Muslims particularely when during the period of the Philistines Islam was NOT in the picture for thousands of years.. Before I leave may I tell Abbas get out and DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE FACE ON YOUR WAY ! More later(busy at present) Please keep up the good work in telling those deluded Pals exactly where they belong,i.e Jordan where all the rest of their brethren live that in effect that country being an artificially created by the devious Brits whereby during the mandate decided to apportion a big chunk of it to ARTIFICIAL Jordan that was meant for Isreal. Thus Israel was cheated in not acquiring MORE land due to Israel. I am addressing this to Dr.L Brnd. Au-revoir for now.

Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (09.30.10)
Don’t like my definition? Okay here is the definition from dictionary.com “a•part•heid - noun (2) any system or practice that separates people according to race, caste, etc”. It doesn’t matter a fig if Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is a “great racist” or not the point is that she and other notable people are now using the term “apartheid” in common usage to describe the official policies by the Israeli Gov towards the Palestinians. They are actually under Israeli military occupation and subjected to Israeli military law as recognized by the Israeli Supreme Court, the UN, the EU, the US, the ICJ etc. Doesn’t matter what the given reason is these official Israeli policies are still discriminatory and promote ethnic segregation thus aptly fit the term “apartheid”. To sum up, as per common usage and dictionary definition, Nour (and anyone else for that matter) is quite correct to use the term “apartheid” in relation to the official Israeli Gov discriminatory/segregation policies and laws towards the Palestinians.
45. I'm Up> And to BloodyscoT a Reminder:I have said a hundred >
(09.30.10)
A hundred of times of the Roman expulsion of the Jews during that period not all Jews pack up and left, many stayed and thus we have ha presence in the Holy Land up to today. Well great dynasties came and went, but WE JEWS ARE STILL HEREt if proof needed. It would behoove some of you to familiarize yourselves of the REAL historical narrative of the Jewish antecedents. Hey, think how young the US is,we can be proud to say. You ain't all that old a country.Further more you have colonized, took over the land of the REAL Americans the Indian tribes who are the indigenous people who are still living in reservations(barring a few),drug induced, living a miserable life.Give back Texax to the Mexicans .You stole their land as well. The US in gowing down the slippery slop with unemloyment rampant, house dispossessions ,huge debts, economy in tarters. Tell you what, while the whole world was suffering from the recession, and still are especially in the EU countries ,guess what
46. Who in Israel wants to talk to Abbas in the first place?
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.30.10)
Leftist political parties like Kadima, Labor and Meretz consider it a matter of faith that we must beg Abbas to talk to us. Even though there is no way Israel could possibly benefit from such talks. Even though such talks are aimed at tearing Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria away from us, trimming our waist to just 8 miles and inundating us with rockets and hostile Arabs. Other than these losing parties, who in Israel wants to talk to Abbas in the first place? Virtually nobody. Thus it would be great to cancel the "peace talks" with the P.A. forever.
47. Abbas in a tizzy, you will take your toys & go home? Good

49. Matty Groves agrees: Palestinians guilty of apartheid
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.30.10)
Matty in his posting #44 gives ample evidence and conclusion that the Palestinians are guilty of being the true Apartheid regime in the middle east. Israel clearly gives full citizenship and the vote to its Arab minority, yet the Palestinians have made it abundantly clear that they use ethnic cleansing. It is a fact that despite there being Jewish residents in Gaza before 1948, the Palestinians allowed no Jews to remain in Gaza. It is a fact that despite Jews residing in the west bank before 1948, the Palestinians are calling for the complete dismantling and expulsion of all Jews who moved there post-1948. This is despite the factual evidence that Jews lived in the west bank -especially Hebron - almost continuously for the past 2000 years. The Palestinians are the true racists. They allow no Jews, while it is a clear fact that Arabs have full citizenship in Israel, have the vote, and are represented in the same parliament. Groves is nothing more than a purveyor of Palestinian propaganda. The Jews in the west bank are subject to the current peace talks - and that's where their future will be decided, not by an amateur talkbacker like Groves.
50. To Mr Groves
Paul   (10.01.10)
Please continue to show your ignorance by quoting from a dictionary. If you never lived in SA during that time, you have no idea what you are talking about and are using emotive languge without any basis. Im apartheid, the people were brutally oppresses, kept in ghettos, disenfranchised, not allowed in white areas, could not sit on the same buses, wholesale arrests for demonstrating etc. In Israel, EVERY citizen has the vote ( and can form a party) or organise a demonstration, they can buy and build houses wherever they want, there is no segregation on public transport or at universities, or for jobs, for that matter. Get your facts straight you sanctimonious idiot.
