1. Schakowski
avi ,   nyc   (10.17.10)
Pollak is an Ehrliche yid, while Schakowski is assimmilated and intermarried.
2. GO POLLAK!!!
OBSERVER   (10.17.10)
3. biased
J ,   Miami, USA   (10.17.10)
Clearly the author has an agenda when he classifies Jan Schakowsky as a moderate. It just so happens that she's one of the most liberal congresswomen in the House. Every news media outlet besides Mr. Ben Horin and Ynet calls Ms. Jan Schakowsky a liberal. Please get your facts straight.
4. MOVE TO ISRAEL AND RUN FOR THE KNESSET
James ,   USA   (10.17.10)
This makes me sick. Are these people running for the U.S. Congress or the Israeli Knesset? Sometimes I just can't tell.
5. Why?
Stealth ,   Atlantic City, US   (10.17.10)
I thought these elections were for the people of the United States! Since when does Israel get to be on the agenda? How much is Netanyahu going to pledge to the United States in Israeli tax dollars to ensure the roads in an out of Atlantic City are in proper working condition? America first, second and third. Any politician who does not think that way does not get my vote, and as far as I am concerned, these two traitors should hop the next El Al for Haifa.
6. Jan Schakowsky = JSTREET & George Soros back her!
Kelly ,   Chicago   (10.17.10)
Jan Schakowsky has decided where she stands: with J Street and against Israel’s strongest defenders-Elie Wiesel, Alan Dershowitz, Joe Lieberman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, each of whom have been attacked by J Street in recent months.
7. TO Yitzhak Benhorin: Jan Schakowsky is a JSTREET supporter!
Period!   (10.17.10)
She is farrrrrrrrrr from moderate!
8. 4. All politics are local...especially
(10.17.10)
Congressional politics. This particular district is JEWISH. There are many districts in the US that have other priorities that reflect their individualness. We are NOT talking about a Senate seat that represents an entire state.
9. 5. America and Americans have their
(10.17.10)
noses soooooo far into Israeli politics...that it does seem only fair. All kidding aside, this DISTRICT is very concerned with Israel. There are many American DISTRICTS concerned with Mexico, Ireland, Russia, Cuba... Oh and PLEASE do NOT start on how much $ the US gives Israel...they get it back tenfold AND the Israelis LOVE America, unlike Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Afghanistan...
10. Jewish interests are honesty and Torah blessings not curses
Josh   (10.17.10)
Enough with the upside-down promotion of all this garbage as the way to protect our people. If someone dared stand up (like real Hebrews) and promote us being a light to all nations and actually embracing our role of teaching the stranger instead of what we know is going on, we could lead the good by proving Torah superior. If we dont do it, how can we ever teach it. With no additions, it is a potent cure. With additions it is an overdose. Only G-d is going to bring us peace not neighbor spying, Hebrew oppression, politics, 'sexism, racism, legal sharks or accusing others falsely of anti-antisemitism. Choose life is our path. No thanks US politicians - G-d protects us. Lets redirect our energy towards loving Him and His Torah..
11. how much clearer does it need to be
PaulB ,   Cairns Australia   (10.17.10)
Is it any wonder that what you people call "anti-semitism" is on the rise in the US. I would call it reisitance to occupation myself.
12. pollak
erik ,   CZECH REP.   (10.18.10)
only what's good for jews! to hell with the rest........
13. Politics
Publico ,   US   (10.18.10)
I read a couple US papers saying Pollack is polling better than the opponent and may upset & defeat the incumbent Dem, who is viewed as too big an Obama supporter
14. #6 - Bunch of traitors,...

People like you and the bunch that you named make me sick.
15. # 5 Stealth - What's your alternative ??? ,...

16. #9 - how much $ the US gives Israel,...
split ,   USA   (10.18.10)
Counting military aid, guaranteed loans that are paid off by US tax payer, deductible donations almost as much as to the rest of the needy world ,...
17. I was there... Pollak is definitely impressive.
Jeff ,   Evanston, IL   (10.18.10)
I am from Pollak/Schakowsky's district and was at BJBE last week. Pollak was EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE. He'll probably lose this one because it's a really heavily liberal district but I'm sure this is far from that last that we'll be seeing of him... in my view he is one of the top up-and-coming politicians in the US, and I'm sure once he makes it into the government in one way or another he will be one of the best friends Israel has ever had.
18. If you Want to Protect Israel Elect a Goy
Stan ,   Johannesburg   (10.18.10)
They are the only ones who care. These liberal Jews are a bunch of duped idiots who don't have the backbone to stand up for their Jewishness and Israel. Unfortunately it takes a Goy to be strong and uncompromising when it comes to getting the Holy Land back to its rightful owners - the Jews. Liberalism is seen by the Arabs as a weakness and encourages them to be bold and strong.
19. #16 Duh split
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (10.18.10)
The bulk of your tax-dollar loans to Israel are re-invested in the USA, creating jobs and boosting your economy, split...duh Ingrate.
20. If you have a chance to vote for or against
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (10.18.10)
Government that seems hostile to your community, you should voice your concern. Republican vs. Democrats both have American interests at hart. Looks like the republicans care more for Israel then Democrats. It’s a matter of trust, and when your people are singled out and are on breaking news everyday, you tend to vote accordingly
21. Jews are not a majority in Chicago
Geltmeister ,   London, UK   (10.18.10)
"A Jewish candidate has been trying to convince the mostly Jewish voters that his Jewish opponent has not done enough to protect the Jewish interest. " How can 240,000 out of 3 million people represent 'mostly Jewish voters' when It's less than 10%?
22. #16 spilt; Honestly, do we really need your money?
Eran ,   Singapore   (10.18.10)
Honestly , you need us more than we need you. Here are some documented facts that I hope makes you blush, if you are honest; 1. In the years 2003-2008, Israel’s economy grew at an average annual rate of 5.5%, with a less convenient starting point and with two wars in the middle. 2. Israel is approaching yet another milestone en route to turning into a highly developed economy – our per capita GDP will reach the $30,000 mark next year. The overall gross domestic product, which is the economic value of all the goods and services produced in Israel, will reach roughly $230 billion. 3. Israel fully reached the $20,000 per capita GDP mark ONLY in the first half of this decade. We did it slowly and hesitatingly; the deep recession during the second Intifada curbed economic growth and pushed the economy backwards. 4. While in most developed and industrialized states are weakened and bleeding, while their government budgets skyrocketed, Israel is strong and in good health. In six of the seven leading industrial powers, the ratio between government debt and GDP is expected to grow by dozens of percents in the coming years. The debt will reach 90% of the GDP in Germany, 96% in France, 100% in Britain, 110% in the US, 130% in Italy, and 250% in Japan. In Spain, Greece, Portugal, and Ireland, the ratio is expected to stabilize somewhere between the 100% to 150% mark. So perhaps take a good look at yourself in the mirror SPLIT and stop telling funny stories. Do we really need your money? Why not give it to the Pals so it can help their leaders to enrich their secret bank accounts. You will then feel better.
23. no.5
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.18.10)
Another petty argument by another petty Palestinian,so vote for a CAIR candidate if you can find one ?
24. no.21
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.18.10)
Another sttupid posting, the majority of Americans don,t want a Muslim centre or Mosque or whatever any where near Ground Zero yet the small leftist Arab minority are determined to build against the majority,s wishes, explain the paradox now ,stupid ?
25. Citizens Of The United States
World Citizen ,   the world   (10.18.10)
Should take heed to what is going on here. These Jews don't care about the US. They only care about Israel and themselves. While your infrastructure decays and millions have lost their jobs these so-called Americans only care about how much money the US can give to Israel.
26. Schakowsky is Kosher, Pollak is nuts
malleusmaleficarum ,   washington dc usa   (10.18.10)
Pollak is an ideological radical. A supporter of free trade, Pollak wants to ship jobs overseas and give big tax breaks to millionaires. Opposed to health care for poor people, Pollak is in favor of borrowing money to finance deficits for tax-cuts for billionaires. Pollak leading the charge on israel would be like elevating Rabbi Ovadia Yosef to the Presidency of Israel. Forget him and all radicals like him. John Hagee even endorsed Pollak, but it had to be hushed up because Hagee thinks Hitler fulfilled prophecies from the Torah. Pollak schmollak.
27. Jan Schakowsky- Moderate-NOT!!!
Rich ,   Fort Lauderdale, USA   (10.18.10)
I don't know where you get your facts from. The Congresswomen is far from a moderate she is and would otherwise proudly consider herself an extreme liberal. She is not AIPAC endorsed- she is J Street endorsed and supported and she supports J Street. Although her voting record on Israel issues is sold, she only offers luke warm support of Israel under Obama and was more than ready to jump on board J Street- when it had Mr. Obama's endorsement- therebv proving that when push came to shove- she abdicated. However, since Mr. Pollak entered the race moved to be more supportive of Israel. J Street is a repugnant and false organization which is a deceptive tool of the Obama Administration. Get your facts right.
28. #26, I"m more scared of Rev. Wright then John Hagee
SIFTER ,   9th District   (10.18.10)
Who cares if John Hagee endorsed Pollack? Did Pollack sit in his church and absorb visceral hate for 20 years like Obama didn't? Ha! Pollack is a thoughtful, intelligent centrist in comparison to the ultra liberal Jan Schakowsky..... who caters to the gay, liberal Lakefront crowd, ya know, the ones who croon at Penny Pritzker's art openings, etc. I'm voting for Pollack.
29. 16 that's absurd...Israel is the ONLY
#9   (10.19.10)
loan receiver that actually pays back her debt to the US and has NEVER had a debt forgiven. Get your facts straight.
