I always read your comments with interest. But I would not be so sanguine about the possibility of unilateral declaration of the Palestinian State. The PLO has discussed and tried it in the past. But the present day international atmosphere is different, and this nightmare can become a reality - just look at Kosovo. The UNSC may not even be involved. Instead, the UN General Assembly can call for the members to voluntary recognize the PA State within 1967 borders. In spite of possible half-hearted objections from Russia, China, US, and the lack of legal ground, this will create a pseudo-state recognized by a majority of UN members. The consequences of this are unpredictable. Israel government must do its homework to be fully prepared.
