History Professor Kaukab Siddique need lose no sleep over the reaction to his remarks. If Lincoln University dismisses him (not in this lifetime) he will always find a warm and sympathetic welcome at Ben-Gurion University.

Jews have a God given right to live freely in the holy land, but that right also applies to Muslims, and Christians, who have also lived in them for thousands of years (since before they were people of the faith) and believe in the sacred character of the region. These blessed lands are sufficiently broad, lovely and fertile for all faiths and communities to live together in peace. The right to life of one does not disqualify others from enjoying the same right.

After this one would think the university might check his classes, maybe speak to a few students, check which books he's using. They're playing blind deaf and dumb.

The university says it can't fire him because "he has tenure". As one TV comic used to say, "How conveeeeenient." In this day and age, there's no more justification for tenure. Why should professors be a privileged class, immune to the possibility of being fired. But don't cry for Siddique. Anti-semitism has gone mainstream, and there are many colleges - not just the 3rd rate variety - that will hire him.
