30 Talkbacks for this article
1. This is why Jews should vote Republican.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (10.30.10)
I can't count the number of times I have seen comments from Gentiles that ask why Jews vote against their own self-interest, even vote for outright enemies. I never try to answer these comments because the comments are pretty much true & I have no good answer. What can I say? That Jews are idiots? That Jews are fools?
2. Obama doesn't care about America or Israel interests
David P. ,   Capitola, CA   (10.30.10)
he pursues only his own personal interests whether or not they coincide
3. Republican Hypocrites
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.30.10)
It was the RINO Republican G.W. Bush who was the first US president to call for a Palestinian State in June of 2002. And the Republican party platform calls for a Palestinian state. Just like the hypocrite Democrat's they talk out of both sides of their mouth and the voters are easily conned by these fraud, lying politicians. If the Republicans were serious they would have moved the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and gotten Jonathan Pollard released under the fraud Bush. What is tragic in all of this is how easily Israeli's are fooled by their cherished idol.
4. When will US Jews wake up and smell the coffee?
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (10.30.10)
this is their doing for voting for this fraudster. I look forward to barak hussain obama being exposed for his many deceptions. Will he be jailed for breaking the constitution when the people of the US discover he was born in Kenya? Will US Jews wake up then?
5. Hey Congressmen , One day we shall become what we want.
Salma ,   Palestine   (10.30.10)
This is your name -- a woman said, and vanished through the winding corridor There I see heaven within reach. The wing of a white dove carries me towards another childhood. And I never dreamt that I was dreaming. Everything is real. I knew I was casting myself aside . . . and flew. I shall become what I will in the final sphere. And everything is white . The sea suspended upon a roof of white clouds. Nothingness is white in the white heaven of the absolute. I was and was not. In this eternity's white regions, I'm alone. I came before I was due; no angel appeared to tell me: "What did you do back there, in the world?" I didn't hear the pious call out, nor the sinners moan for I'm alone in the whiteness. I'm alone. Nothing hurts at the door of doom. Neither time nor emotion. I don't feel the lightness of things, or the weight of apprehensions. I couldn't find anyone to ask: Where is my where now? Where is the city of the dead, and where am I? Here in this no-here, in this no-time, there's no being, nor nothingness. As if I had died once before, I know this epiphany, and know I'm on my way towards what I don't know. Perhaps I'm still alive somewhere else, and know what I want. One day I shall become what I want. One day I shall become a thought, taken to the wasteland neither by the sword or the book as if it were rain falling on a mountain split by a burgeoning blade of grass, where neither might will triumph, nor justice the fugitive. One day I shall become what I want. One day I shall become a bird, and wrest my being from my non-being. The longer my wings will burn, the closer I am to the truth, risen from the ashes. I am the dialogue of dreamers; I've shunned my body and self to finish my first journey towards meaning, which burnt me, and disappeared. I'm absence. I'm the heavenly renegade. One day I shall become what I want. One day I shall become a poet, water obedient to my insight. My language a metaphor for metaphor, so I will neither declaim nor point to a place; place is my sin and subterfuge. I'm from there. My here leaps from my footsteps to my imagination . . . I am he who I was or will be, made and struck down by the endless, expansive space. One day I shall become what I want. One day I shall become a vine; let summer distil me even now, and let the passers-by drink my wine, illuminated by the chandeliers of this sugary place! I am the message and the messenger, I am the little addresses and the mail. One day I shall become what I want. This is your name -- a woman said, and vanished in the corridor of her whiteness. This is your name; memorise it well! Do not argue about any of its letters, ignore the tribal flags, befriend your horizontal name, experience it with the living and the dead, and strive to have it correctly spelt in the company of strangers and carve it into a rock inside a cave: O my name, you will grow as I grow, you will carry me as I will carry you; a stranger is brother to a stranger; we shall take the female with a vowel devoted to flutes. O my name: where are we now? Tell me: What is now? What is tomorrow? What's time, what's place, what's old, what's new? One day we shall become what we want. Mahmoud Darwish .
6. Republicans o
Nour ,   One State   (10.30.10)
7. Fiddler On The Roof Democrat voters
RayS ,   USA   (10.30.10)
Jews who vote for ANY Democrat ion Tuesday are like the foolish ones portrayed in S.A's tales. But much dumber. They live in the past (with yesterday's allies ,fearing yesterday's enemies) while ignoring today's friends and enemies. Wake up..The lives of your children and grandchildren are at stake. .Vote REPUBLICAN tuesday.
8. Another example of Jewish control of America
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.30.10)
...putting Israel's interests above America's interests.
9. All for it. Let the Palestinians be responsible once and for
JO   (10.30.10)
all. About time.
10. obama will win
muhannad ,   jerusalem/palestine   (10.30.10)
the whole world will be celebrating soon except israel, obama and his party will win again
11. Marcel #3 is right....
Steve   (10.30.10)
He is 100% right about Bush and the Republicans. Bush repeatedly boasted that he was the first American president to make the establishment of a Palestinian Muslim (enemy) state in Israel a "formal goal of US policy." Bush repeatedly lied about those who attacked the U.S. on 9/11, assuring the nation that they hijacked a peaceful and just religion. Is it any wonder Americans elected Obama? Make no mistake about it, like the Democrats, Republicans support another Muslim state in Israel; one dedicated to the erradication of the Jewish state, albeit the Republicans are more pious in their assertions of love for Israel. Having said all that, this Muslim-born president, in league with his Democratic Congressional colleagues, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, etc. - if they are not stopped - will literally destroy what remains of this nation. I hope to immigrate to Israel with some of what I have. Mr. Obama and the Democrats, if they have their way, will confiscate the people's property and wealth - what they have left. These dangerous people will "spread it around," to the "moocher" class. For my own self-interest - for my survival - I've got to vote Republican Tuesday.
12. Muhannad
Jane   (10.30.10)
We shall see. Alice in Wonderland plays out again. Everything is the opposite of the way it appears, Muhannad.
13. Republican's will gain more in war than peace
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (10.30.10)
The simple truth is that a war in ME would gain higher profits for many US companies, directly by arms/supplies sales and indirectly by higher oil prices. China and India could be the big winners long term and with Turkey a wildcard, a Israeli victory is not certain.
14. #10 Great talk back! A prime example of how deluded&deceived
A proud American ,   USA   (10.30.10)
you palys are. Obama's slogan while campaigning was "Hope". On Tuesday, the majority of Americans will change that slogan to "Nope"!!! He promised us change. On Tuesday, we will bring our CHANGE to him & in 2012 we will surely deliver CHANGE the whole world can believe in by throwing this wolf in sheeps clothing out on the street where he belongs!!!!!
15. This is why the Green Party needs to elected to US Congress
Gavin Young ,   Beaverton, OR, USA   (10.30.10)
The Republican party's positions on the issue of Israel-Palestine are not often not in the best interests of Justice for the Palestinians. This is why the Green Party needs to elected to the US House of Representatives and the US Senate, since the USA Green Party platform calls for the end of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
16. People need to see how clueless the US and west is to arab
Jae ,   Lynn US   (10.30.10)
and muslim culture. making a deal works as long as the muslim entity is weaker; when its stronger that deal is abrogated. witness mohammeds model in medina as depicted in koran. yes muslims follow mohameds model. Get a clue.
17. #15. GAVIN:Cynthia McKinney for President
Thomas ,   Dixieland USA   (10.30.10)
Sure. Green Party. That's what we need. And a hermaphrodite Muslim president.
18. J-Street EPIC FAIL
RedBull ,   USA   (10.30.10)
In trying to politicize and sabotage Israel support in the US, the two parties will now have to compete for the support of Israel supporters. HA!
19. recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
amanda ,   madrid Spain   (10.30.10)
"recognize Israel as a Jewish state". OK where are the borders?
20. Republican letter
ggraczyk15@yahoo.com ,   Sausalito, CA USA   (10.30.10)
As an American, I am concerned that the Republican letter reflects another instance of Republican Congressmen rubberstamping the latest letter drafted by AIPAC, the Israeli lobby. Such instances have been well documented with letters sent to the Congressional offices literally signed unchanged. My concern is that this represents an unwarranted foreign intrusion into domestic politics in return for campaign donations. This is a very dangerous path for Israel and accounts for some of the current backlash and isolation of our ally Israel. Let us hope it is not so.
21. Gavin Young
Jane   (10.30.10)
Justice for the Palestinians? What about Justice for the Jews? It's obvious that you are ignorant of history as is anyone who would formulate an agenda predicated on such a premise. The Greens are just another radical lefty group, all of which are rejected by the American majority. You need a reality check but, of course, it would never fit into your PC perspective. By the way, Gavin, do you support Fedex packages from Yemen too?
22. Amanda #19: Borders
Steve   (10.30.10)
"To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates..." (Gen chapter 15) "I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you...." (Exodus chapter 23)
23. The Israel Lobby

This is the Israel Lobby in action.
24. Gavin Young # 15
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (10.30.10)

25. Obaama ran on HOPE. On Tuesday we will tell him NOPE!! Can

27. @25 Good one! Yep, on Tuesday that will be the 'vote' heard
around the world.Bye ,   bye Pelose,Reid,BHO!   (10.30.10)
28. #3 I get amused at your shallowness of the ME conflict.
Rueben ,   Migdal, Israel   (10.30.10)
For at least 3 yrs. you have been dogging us, berating us, trying to humilate us, and yet each and every time you miss the point of what goes on in our daily lives entirely. Why do you think there is, and always will be, such immense pressure from the West to give our land to these terrorist thugs? It's all about Jerusalem. You react with anger and disgust at us. All fleshy emotions. This gets you no where and accomplishes nothing. No one of importance hears you, nor do they ever give a damn about what you have to say. You are so inconsequential in the whole picture in the Middle East. You have said that you are a Christian. Ok, that's fine. Now go read your own Bible and figure out who and what and why are the driving forces behind all of this. Start attacking those forces like your Bible instructs you to and quit attacking us. The weapons of your warfare are not carnal-------yet you use your carnality everyday against us. I muse at you each day because I think 'When will this guy ever realize that he is fighting their war". To take a stand against Israel and against it's people daily is-----well let's just say you need to remember " I will Bless those that Bless you, and I will Curse those that Curse you". It's obvious to me what which way the pendulum is swinging in your life. Take a few days off. Find out how to fight a good warfare. G-d knows it will be better for us and much better for you.
29. #25 When BHO pushed this damn health care bill down our
throats,I could hear ,   'Remember November"   (10.31.10)
30. Palestinians
John ,   las Vegas USA   (10.31.10)
The Palestinians have no right to Jewish soil. Israel was given to the Jews by God. Obama should read the Bible. He's supposed to be smart, and also a Christian. I completely support Israel and we must elect a president that will do the same.
