1. Annual Rabin
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (10.30.10)
I hope it's the last year. Enough all ready of bring dragging out the dead. It was tragic what happened but enough is enough. Oslo is dead and buried, well it's time for Rabin.
2. Let him rest peacefully with the ancients. At least we don't
have 2 states. So ,   good is come of this   (10.30.10)
3. Biggest Loss to israel ever
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (10.30.10)
Rabin's murder killed the peace process. Little did we know that the assasin's bullet was going to change the face of israel and the middle east and drag us back decades. Hence his loss to Israel was immense, more than any other leader.
4. Police estimated 30,000 people , organizers claimed 100,000
Neil B. ,   Ginot Shomron   (10.30.10)
What nonsense! I was there. I counted 375,476 people. In spite of efforts (by we all know who) to erase his memory, Rabin Z'L will never be forgotten.
5. the Rabin deposit
observer   (10.30.10)
Rabin informed the United States that he had committed himself to full withdrawal from the Occupied Golan Heights on the following five conditions: 1. Full normalization of diplomatic relations between Syria and Israel and the exchange of ambassadors following the achievement of the first phase of pullout by Israel from the Golan Heights. 2. Withdrawal from the Golan Heights shall be implemented within five years. 3. Full normalization of relations by Syria that includes trade exchange and tourism cooperation. 4. Syria must accept new security arrangements which would provide, among other things, for American-installed early alarm systems on the Golan Heights, to be made operational after Israel has started to withdraw its forces. 5. Syria has to ensure that Israel’s needs for water from the Sea of Galilee are to be met.
6. sounds still gorgeous, #5
eporue ,   europe   (10.30.10)
would syria - still(?) - agree to that ?
7. #3
Golan ,   Modiin   (10.30.10)
you have no historical knowledge? The peace process was a farce then and it is a farce now. It was not Amir who killed the peace process it was the Arabs and their terror.
8. He was there
David ,   USA/ISRAEL/EGYPT   (10.30.10)
I saw him ,Neil B he was there. He stood at the door and counted all 375476 who came in. LOL
9. There were ALOT of people there
Corey ,   Tel Aviv   (10.30.10)
Mostly the young (15-25) and older (60+)- those in the middle were too disillusioned to show up.
10. #4 NOT!!! I counted 375,480 people!!
Maurie ,   Netanya, Israel   (10.30.10)
11. Re: Rabin's Love
Michael Lemming ,   Haifa   (10.31.10)
As someone who worked hand in hand with Rabin of blessed memory to make peace with our Arab cousins, I can assure you that the seed of peace is still very strong, and indeed we shall overcome!
12. annual fest of hate
Yisraeli   (10.31.10)
It is they the leftists that have hate in their heart. They hate their fellow countyman who dont think like them and love our enemies. They pander to our enemies at every turn. They are the ones who are willing to take up arms at their fellow countyman who dont agree with them. They are facists in their collective heart. Because they are a minority but want to dictate to the whole at any price, even with spilling blood of their own....but god forbid not that of the real enemies. Moreshet Rabin = Moreshet Shtifat Moach Rabins Legacy = Legacy of the brainwashed or better still legacy of the brain dead.
13. Why do we "need two states"? How was Rabin murdered?
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.31.10)
Two questions arise immediately in response to the perhaps 30,000 person Rabin rally. Let's leave aside the organizers' multiplying the crowd by more than 300%. Why do we "need two states"? What on earth does Israel have to gain by having her waist trimmed to 8 miles? Nobody has a rational answer. Secondly, how was Rabin murdered? The "lone rightist" theory can't be accepted because of hundreds of serious inconsistencies.
14. Stupid Peace Now lemmings
Pinchas ,   Boston   (10.31.10)
Rabin's cultic followers repeat the dopey phrase, we must make peace with our enemies. First, you don't make peace with your enemies, you defeat them or you convert them: that's the empirical lesson of history. Second, peace is not the goal, security is. Peace is a means, just as war is a means. If peace leads to security, fine; if not, then other means must be used to establish security. Of course if you are tired of winning and fighting (Olmert the charlatan) or if you are an obsessive utopian and secular messianist (Peres and Oppenheimer of Peace Now), these critical comments are irrelevant. They want peace even if peace weakens the state, reduces its sovereignty, amputates its territory, and causes a civil war.
15. and who will remmember all the terror victims?
chaim schonbrun ,   brooklyn ny   (10.31.10)
and who will remember the over 2000 jewish men women and children murdered and blown to pieces,by the murderous terrorists animals, with bombs and arms supplied to them by Rabin and Peres in accordance with the disastorous Oslo accord?
16. Forget the father of the Oslo failure, no more leftists need
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.31.10)
run for office, enough already.
17. Gathering of the Leftists
Brod ,   USA   (10.31.10)
The Leftists cannot stand on their own issues. They have to use Rabin as a footstool. It is time to turn your heart, mind and soul on the GOD of Israel rather than idolize a dead man.
18. And I saw a James Bond rerun on TV.
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (10.31.10)
I think I spent my time much better.
19. Rabin did not call for a Palestinian State, only an entity.
Shame   (10.31.10)
"We view the permanent solution in the framework of State of Israel which will include most of the area of the Land of Israel as it was under the rule of the British Mandate, and alongside it a Palestinian entity which will be a home to most of the Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. We would like this to be an entity which is less than a state, and which will independently run the lives of the Palestinians under its authority. The borders of the State of Israel, during the permanent solution, will be beyond the lines which existed before the Six Day War. We will not return to the 4 June 1967 lines. " A. First and foremost, united Jerusalem, which will include both Ma'ale Adumim and Givat Ze'ev -- " B. The security border of the State of Israel will be located in the Jordan Valley, in the broadest meaning of that term. C. Changes which will include the addition of Gush Etzion, Efrat, Beitar and other communities, most of which are in the area east of what was the "Green Line," prior to the Six Day War. D. The establishment of blocs of settlements in Judea and Samaria, like the one in Gush Katif. http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/MFAArchive/1990_1999/1995/10/PM+Rabin+in+Knesset-+Ratification+of+Interim+Agree.htm Rabins legacy is a lie and he was part of Labour. His words show a United Jerusalem, no Palestinian state but an entity, all the big settlements would be under Israeli Rule, even mentions Gush Katif as an example of creating blocks in the WB. Nowadays he would be considered an right wing extremist.
20. Rabin was against a Palestinian State - his words
Shame   (10.31.10)
Monday, Sep. 27, 1993 Time Magazine Interview with Yitzchak Rabin. Q. The Labor Party seems to be softening its opposition to a Palestinian state. A. No. I am against this. I oppose the creation of an independent Palestinian state between Israel and Jordan, and I don't believe that at this stage it would be a good idea if I brought out the options. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,979266,00.html#ixzz12kCqB81C
21. Amir's greatest crime
Golan ,   Modiin   (10.31.10)
the left has a problem counting, especially when more people went to Hebron than to Tel Aviv. But the worst part is the utter sappiness of the proclamation. No Peres, your fetish to give up land is not stronger than their wish to kill you. No peace is not just around the corner. No peace is not reality. And the memory of Rabin is disgraced when the left he rejected claim him to be their founder. Rabin hated Peace Now. Rabin did not support a Palestinian state (he only offered them autonomy) and he was not a "man of peace and love" he was a man of division and brutality.
22. Rabin response to #3
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (10.31.10)
His death didn't change the peace process. Arafat did, when he decided to go to war. That killed it along with way to many Israelis. However, during the period prior to Rabin's murder, the majority of the people were ignored by the few of the left who kept saying we know what's better for you and the far left still thinks this.
23. Trick or Treat the ghouls are out
Al ,   TA   (10.31.10)
Israeli Halloween, lies, incitement and self-delusion.
24. #16 Bunnie you obviously forgot Israel
Avi ,   Israel   (10.31.10)
Well thats rich coming from you a jew that chooses to live in LA LA land and all the material trapping and cant even commit to Israel. More advise from an arm chair zionist !
25. It's bad enough...........
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (10.31.10)
......that this festival of leftist idolatory takes place every year and we have to be constantly reminded of it from the mouth of Shimon Peres - but it's worse that it always takes place TWICE on both the Hebrew and secular dates. Can't they just do it once on the first Shabbat in November and keep it off the TV?
