How can it be fair to try and force someone to work outside his recognised country against his will. These artists dont want to help the occupation because its their moral principals

it is logical to allow everyone to think what he wants; but when you receives money from the state you cannot use it against the state ;and boycott is the favourite weapon against israel abroad don't give to israel enemies more help;in a democratic state after elections we must accept the governement decisions until next elections

Alistair, get real. Ariel is NOT outside Israel. The whole of Judea and Samaria were recognized as part of the Land of Israel and ratified in the San Remo treaty of 1922 by all the parties concerned see: http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~samuel/feisal1.html.. Since this treaty and the League of Nations ratification have never been repealed, it stills tands. The land of TransJordan was created by you British in your "wisdom", out of parts of Mesoptamia, syria, Arabia and yes, the easter (trans-Jordan) part of the Land of Israel, as a home for the Arabs ("Palestinians " as they became known) and a land wher eno Jew was allowed to live. Everything, but evrythign, alistair, West of the Jordan river, was to be the jewish Homeland. Well, the Brits in their wisdom carved this up yet again to appease your belived Arabs (not known as Palestinians then) but since the Aabs refused to accept this and waged war on us the minute the British Mandate ceased to exist, The line where the fighting stopped, which was an armistice line and nothing more than that (certainly not a legal border) is what the rest of the world chose to see as Israel's border (the 1967 border). It is NOT a border for any legal purpose. Don't believe m? Go read British Mandate history of the middle east. Meanwhile, quit your nasty remarks.
4. Sad to see "Artist" falling for BDS tactics
Isaac   (11.07.10)
It is sad to see "artist" (and I use that term loosely) falling for BDS tactics. Unfortunately, the line between creativity and insanity is very thin - as these "artist" demonstrate. G. Steinberg wrote in the J'Post of ways to counter BDS. Additionally, 38 very brave Nobel Prize recipients, among them Elie Wiesel, signed a declaration protesting BDS. Madeleine, keep up the good work of countering those who advocate BDS with legal, historical truth.
5. publish the name of Artists who want to boycoot Israel

Your statement is back to front .There is nothing nasty in my statement.Land of Israel is not Israel.Ariel is not recognised by any country in the world as part of Israel(state).Where get the idea that its wrong to do somthing because of your moralistic view ,if Ariel was Israel (state) it would be recognised the world over and would not be an Illegal settlement or even boycotted
7. Graffiti artists
NooR ,   Victoria, Canada   (12.05.10)
Agreed Rachel. I can betcha Banksy is not one of them. Shepherd Fairley I am curious to know if he was one of them. It is funny that "street artists" once known as punks (and who of course are not all punks at all) are now noteworthy in the media for supporting a rogue nation. What if they supported the victims of this illegal occupation?
