Mo, I believe you are correct. The sanctions must run their course for the ultimate hammer blow to be readied. Unlike the Bush team's signaling it's moves by trumping up a case for invading Iraq, The US through it's steady application of sanctions with it's allies is setting the table for making a credible case for the military option. Many here believe that "chestbeating" and "threats" will scare the Iranians into capitulation. Wrong! Tightening the noose and making the crimminal regime play it's pathetic hand only strenghtens the US hand. I know I will be roundly critisized for this, but really, what good has come from the Bush/Cheney plot? Iran was made 50ft tall as a result and Israel was further threatened by Syria and the Hezbonians. The art of war dictates the preperation of the table, not schoolyard jawjacking!
32. ALVIN IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.....#16
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.08.10)
Credible evidence? What credible evidence you need when American young soldiers are losing their lives almost on daily basis and you need to go no further than where you are to know the truth.Don't be blind to realities in trying to persue something which you are day-dreaming for the last four to five years,Sarah.
33. CLEAR UP? YOU ARE A JOKE.............#17
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.08.10)
Aha!! Israel wanted to clear up,is it?How many times have your people approached USA to clear up in the past?Sarah, don't go round the bush all the time.If Israel was capable and strong enough,it would have done the job....................the fact you live with. But it is not so............and you know it. Rest of the crap in your talk-back does not even deserve a reply.Civilization is at ease if you stop these atrocities that you managed to cover up so far..............no mre of that!!! That is what bugs you!!!!

Actually, this is old news. Israel asked the United States on any number of occasions to issue a warning to Iraq not to pursue a nuclear weapon. The United States refused, so Israel went ahead and destroyed the Osirac reactor. Israel asked the United States to issue a warning to Syria not to pursue a nuclear weapon. The United States refused, so Israel went ahead and destroyed the reactor plant at Dayr az-Zwar. Nothing new here. In fact, dear, in case you haven't been following the story, Israel already launched the first salvo against Iran. It took the form of a lovely and elegant computer worm which is unlike anthing anyone has ever seen and which has brought the Iranian nuclear plant at Bushehr and, more importantly, the enrichment plant at Natanz, to a grinding halt. The facilities at Qum and Isfahan have been severely compromised as well. Just a little softening up before what is likely going to come in early Spring 2011, but may happen in 2012. What a pity that Iran's command and control systems have also been infected; they cannot even test their own missile systems because they have no idea what Stuxnet has done to their computers, and there is a very strong likelihood that test-firing a missile just might cause it to turn around and fall on their heads. As I said, Stuxnet is a VERY elegant little worm (actually, not so little -- rather a large amount of sophisticated code that creates even more problems when someone tries to scrub the system. Imagine that! Aren't Jews and Israelis really very clever? Put a major dent in Iran's nuclear ambitions without a single missile being launched. But have no fear -- that will come; and Iran will not be happy with the outcome.

You have hit the nail on the head. Any attack on Iran -- because of Iran's terrorist toadies in Lebanon -- will necessarily have to wait until early spring 2011. It will have to be a two-pronged attack, with Hizbollah being neutralized as well, and Lebanon is the world's muddiest place in the winter. By March, this will not be a problem. So Iran has four months to shape up. It will take ten years to undo the damage that Stuxnet has done to its nuclear facilities and, likely, its missile defense systems, so Iran is basically a sitting duck, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Won't be long now. Anyone that doesn't realize just how seriously Israel takes existential threats is going to find out quite soon.
36. #34 Stuxnet right? Is that why the whole world
Bannister ,   US   (11.08.10)
Confirms that iran is speeding up in its process to acquire nukes. Seriously Sarah, who do you expect to fool with this rubbish you post every once in a while?( I'd be generous enough to claim that apart from yourself,no one else seems to take you seriously anymore). So much for your Stuxnet theory(stuxnet was so successful that BIBI had to beg us to threaten and attack iran for your sake??sure!) Retard!!!! And oh,since you pretty much rely on theories and unconfirmed reports, here's one that'll freshen up your mind: Ever heard of the soviet nukes that went missing after the soviet union went bye-bye? A lot of people(including israelis) believe that those nukes did in fact end up in iran.
37. To #34 One question SarahB
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (11.08.10)
If stuxnet was so good in stopping iran as you claim it was, then why does your PM need to ask the Americans for a military strike?? Stupidity at its finest. Surely you don't believe your own nonsense(or do you?)

Do you have any idea how many Ba'hai and Zoroastrians have been massacred by the Islamic Republic since 1979? Not to mention the persecution of the Kurds. Should you really be lecturing Israel? I think not. Do you know what I find particularly ironic? In the lead-up to the downfall of the Shah, all Iranians could talk about were the excesses of Savak. Granted. Probably true. One of the biggest talkers of all was Gotzbadeh. Remember him? And then, in one year, Khomeini managed to execute more people than the Savak was responsible for eliminating since the Shah came to power. Including, as it were, the loud-mouthed Mr. Gotzbadeh. (Oh, well.) Israel is capable and strong and is, I remind you, a nuclear power with launch capacity from the land, the sea and quite likely its satellite. For now, the Stuxnet is doing more damage to Iran's nuclear aspirations than any ten cruise missiles. What's more -- you know it. What I cannot for the life of me understand is why you are doing all your armchair quarterbacking from the relative safety of London? Why aren't you back home in the Islamic paradise, manning the ramparts, coping with the shortages and the power outages and the high unemployment and rampant inflation? Can it be you're just a hypocrite? (For the record, dear, Israel asked for the U.S.'s help before it bombed the Osirac reactor, and before it bombed the Syrian reactor. We're not afraid to go it alone; in fact, we realize that that will have to be the case. But Iran's rag-tag military is no match for the kind of firepower that Israel can bring to bear. You would do well to keep that in mind.)

Your usual tripe. And wherever the Soviet nukes may have gone, they didn't take their delivery system with them. And if Iran had a nuke, they'd have used them against the United States (the "Great Satan") and Israel a long time ago. Hell, they'd have used them against Iraq! What else is there to say? History speaks for itself Osirac. Syria. Iran's no different. Really.

Why do you hate Israel so much?

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.09.10)
Stupidity at its finest -- you MUST be looking in the mirror. Israel asked the U.S. the same thing before destroying Iraq's reactor. Israel asked the U.S. the same thing before destroying Syria's reactor. Just setting the stage, dear. Can't say the world hasn't been warned. You really are amazingly ignorant. Are your parents related?
42. In other words
IRAN#1   (11.09.10)
US is broke and the population is unemployed/under-employed and afraid of being kicked out of their homes, they know they can't afford another jew made war!!!! They ahve had enough, if extremist Israleis do not understand that they will make them understand it the hard way!
43. #39 Iran's no different? Iran will chew you up
Bannister ,   US   (11.09.10)
Simple as that. Say,is that why your living all the way in NYC?? We'll see how different this one will be. Time will tell. By the way: Congratulations, your stupidity has been exposed to us all(no wonder no one takes women seriously in the field of politics).
44. #42 Understand the hard way.
(11.09.10)
And just how is that, son? Do you realize that your missles won't even get off the ground? I didn't think so.

Settle down ignoramus. If you really believe what you just vomited up, I hope you have a place to hide your sorry ass when the bombs start falling on the prized toys of the Nanomannequin. Another Jew made war? Maybe you are speaking about your feckless leader, the former mayor of Teheran perhaps? Many seem to think he is a crypto self hating Jew. Now that is true Irony. Speaking of Irony, what could possibly make Iran # 1? Certainly not intellegence if you are any example. Keep thinking that out of work Americans is the only thing that keeps Iran safe from the onslaught. BTW idiot, how do you like being in a third world economy that circles the drain?
46. #32&33 Mahmood
Hal ,   Usa   (11.09.10)
You're getting your blood pressure up Mahmood. I have a suggestion for you. Since you spend so much time posting your misconceptions on this Israeli media site, why don't you just make aliya to Israel and study with a Rabbi? Then you could convert to Judaism and settle your anxieties of being a delusional Pakistani foreign exchange student who has lost his way. It couldn't hurt!
47. #37 Peter
Hal ,   Usa   (11.09.10)
Peter you spend alot of time here. Do you have a case of Jew envy? Or do you like Mahmood secretly wish to be Jews but don't quite know how to make aliya? Go to your local synagogue and ask the Rabbi.
48. Those who live on hand-out from Uncle Sam...
Persian CAT   (11.09.10)
are in no position to demand anything. They can only beg, as Bibi is doing, and the Uncle has every right to laugh them out of the room. That seems to be Bibi's faith in the US nowadays. Sweeeeet.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.09.10)
Actually, I spend an equal amount of time in the U.S. and in Israel. Iran will "chew Israel up?" Oh, I don't think so. It took them eight years to achieve a shame-faced draw against a vastly inferior Iraq. They lost nearly one million troops in the process (although they claim it was "only" 500,000). Israel is not Iraq. Speaking of getting chewed up (and spit out) -- nice job the U.S. did in Somalia. A handful of barefoot warlords using vintage World War I Garand rifles and rusty old grenade launchers defeated the full faith and credit of the United States military. How pathetic. Israel doesn't need -- or want -- U.S. assistance. You'd only get in the way. You should just consider yourself REALLY lucky that Israel still considers the U.S. an ally. You wouldn't want us as an enemy. Not only is Israel not Iraq -- we aren't Somalia either! By the way, I'm really sorry you are so insecure that you feel compelled to insult me. It must be terrible to wake up every morning realizing that there are intelligent and successful Jewish women out there while you are stuck with being just plain you. Have you contemplated suicide?
