1. A hypocrite v hypocrite
Moses Mafora ,   Johannesburg, RSA   (11.12.10)
Stop money to flow will have a devastating cosequences, PA is very with their PR but Israel is not. Stoping money to PA for corruption what about corrupt Israel? Is US taxpayers money now being used to bribe PA.
2. Time for the FULL BUSH
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (11.12.10)
Negotiations have stalled. Neither side shows desire or capability to negotiate in good faith or compromise even on the other's right to exist. Time for the PA to again get the FULL BUSH. That is not only the cut off of all US aid, but the cut off of all other sources of aid the US and its control of international banking can engineer, just like in 2006. The only sources of funding and aid will be Israel or Iran. And Israel gets to choose which will be the source for Palestinian security in the West Bank. And if there will be a two-state resolution, Israel can do the Palestinian state-building. Or Israel can absorb the West Bank or just govern it like South Africa was under the Afrikaners.
3. ''The times, they are a changeing''
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (11.12.10)
Anyone remember the name of the song? It was by Bob Dylan but I don't remember the title. Let's hear all our idiot leftists here in Israel tell us we shouldn't be glad Republicans took the House of Representatives.
4. At Last! Someone is Willing to Call the PA on their BS
Dallas ,   Canada   (11.12.10)
No more villas for the PA elite. They'll have to earn the money the old-fashioned way - by focusing on their contribution to the world instead of wasting all their energy on the obsession with eliminating their Jewish neighbors.
5. Thanks, Republicans! I am already glad I voted, for the
Nancy ,   PA, USA   (11.12.10)
first time for a Republican Representative and a Senator this month, and if this objection represents future attitude I shall do so in the future. Both the President, his Secretary of State and the Democratic Party that stand behind them have failed my hopes, showing nothing but hostility toward Israel and its elected officials.
6. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen
tz ,   Jerusalem   (11.12.10)
Good for her!!!
7. Some light on US Congresswoman ,...
split ,   US   (11.12.10)
Ileana's Ros-Lehtinen's paternal grandparents were Jews from Turkey - She's AIPAC's trojan horse in US Congress. "A 2003 bill introduced in the House International Relations Committee calling for a thorough Israeli investigation in Corrie’s killing and for American efforts to prevent such killings from happening again garnered 78 signatures in support (Rahm Emanuel was the only Jewish signer). However, Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, one of the Israel lobby’s closest allies in Congress, prevented the bill from getting out of the committee. President George W. Bush could have pressed for a full floor vote on the bill but he did nothing. The bill died as a result."
8. long-overdue common sense
M.Oliver ,   Tel Aviv   (11.12.10)
in a world seemingly run by the mentally challenged
9. obama is about to find out not everybody bows down to arabs
zionist forever   (11.12.10)
Poor Obama he has had it all his own way so far, if he wanted to give money the Democrat Congress just rubber stamped it no questions asked. Now he is about to find his unlimited spending power curbed. It's also wrong for the US to keep writing checks when the rich arab states pledge alot but never deliver the goods and the US ends up paying the shortfall. All Abbas needs to do is say we can't afford to pay our employees give us money and the US gets its check book. Its the Arafat years all over again where money is given out like candy and nobody asks questions they just keep giving more when its asked for. Hopefully Congress will now keep Obama on a short leash.
10. by funding the PA, america supports HAMAS..
dan'yal isra'il   (11.12.10)
..one of the main reasons for 'palestinian' support of hamas is due to outrage over corruption in the PA - as long as the usa funds the PA regardless of their actions, the PA has no incentive to change their greedy corrupt ways, and the people will continue to flock to the 'islamic alternative'
11. Re #1
Andrew Brehm   (11.12.10)
You are assuming that since the PA is corrupt, Israel must be just as corrupt. It's not true. It's an old (and tiresome) strategy: 1. Palestinians do something bad. 2. But people are equal, hence Israel must have done the same thing. 3. Israel should be criticised for doing that bad thing. 4. Palestinians are better than Israel. Just look at the bad thing Israel did. A Swedish politician announced a few months ago that he supported Hamas because of the rockets that Israel fires at Gaza all the time. He was a product of that method. The rockets fired by Hamas at Israel became rockets fired by Israel at Gaza.
12. Re #7
Andrew Brehm   (11.12.10)
Cool! What a biography! I'd vote for her if I could. What has Corrie to do with it? Didn't she die when she stood in front of a bulldozer? Doesn't seem very mysterious to me how that happened.
13. Its about time,to give them money is a
Dyslexic......... ,   Israel.....   (11.12.10)
complete waste.First of all there leaders take more than half for themselves, buy nice suits, nice cars and the rest in French banks. The poor palestinians get next to nothing.
14. US TAX MONEY TO ISRAEL
Eran ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (11.12.10)
To the US tax payer who always go on about your tax $$ going to Israel, you need to remember that the US gets a lot back in return from Israel. High tech industry, military, medical advancements all in the long run benefit Americans and the rest of the world. US gives the same amount of aid to Egypt and what do you get in return? Nothing! If I'm not mistaken, the money sent to Israel by the US is usually loans which Israel pays back. Stop your whining, without Israel, you wouldn't have been able to place this chat online!
15. Amen!! Where is Jewish leadership like this???????????????
McLuvin It ,   Hawaii, US   (11.12.10)
Jewish leadership where are you. Take the tail out from between your legs, show some spine, some strength for once. quit your pandering and butt kissing and speak for your people. If you cant or you wont stand up at all costs then leave the front lines. Others will arise to the occasion, dont kid yourself, your ego is not THAT important.
16. While the Democrats are busy supporting Mr. Hussein Obama,
Jerry ,   Arlington, VA USA   (11.12.10)
the Republican are paying attention and watching Mr. Obama's pro-Muslim moves. Way to go, Republicans!
17. No such thing as "palestinians"
Jordan = Fakestan   (11.12.10)
on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said: The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.
18. To #1
Rachel ,   US   (11.12.10)
If the PA wants money they can ask their Arab brothers who are swimming in petro dollars.
19. May G-d bless her, she was always a voice for Israel
m   (11.12.10)
20. #14 - High tech industry, military, medical advancements !!!
(11.12.10)
hahahahaha BS LOAD OF CRAP
21. Cuban-Americans
G.S. ,   USA   (11.12.10)
Hooray for Florida's Cuban Americans. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and new Senator Marco Rubio are great. I’d trade our Jewish leftists for Cubans in a minute. Congratulations to Florida for getting rid of two prime examples, Grayson and Klein.
22. :: I wonder if...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (11.12.10)
...Sarah BS will embarrass herself again by repeating her silly claim that “the Palestine Authority is now the single largest recipient of United States aid”!!
23. Next President
Max ,   Washington DC   (11.12.10)
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen would make a good President of the United States. Rather than Bailing out the corrupt Palestinian Leadership as the present administartion is proposing, our taxpayer dollars should go to educating Palestinian children not to hate, be respectful, and learn to be responsible. Throwing rocks and becoming suicide bombers is not a constructive career path.
24. # 14 - Get your "facts" straight ,...
split ,   US   (11.12.10)
... or stop lying ,...
25. This Is One republican I Can Respect
emanon ,   USA   (11.12.10)
I am a Democrat, but this is one statement I agree with, even if it is proposed by a Republican!
26. The money is protection money
Sam ,   Canada   (11.12.10)
The money is to keep Palestinians from engaging in terrorism against the US and the West or from inciting other Muslims to do so. Terrorism is the leverage Palestinians hold against the West and serves them well.
27. To quote Obama, "Elections have consequences"
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.12.10)
The days of "free money" for the Palestinians is coming to an end. And probably soon the presidential waiver that allows Obama to override Congressional intent. It's simply outrageous that at a time the US has an enormous budget deficit of its own, Clinton calls for yet more borrowed money to fill the Palestinians' budget shortfall. Meanwhile, the wealthy Arab states who are forever advocating on behalf of their Palestinian "brothers" are keeping their wallets closed and laughing at us.
28. Think a sec, then Israel would have to pay
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (11.12.10)
for all W. Bank security or maybe Iran will pay to gain more influence. Some actions may sound great, until you look closer at all the effects the action will have. This could also force Obama's hand to take more direct actions in getting a peace deal quicker.
29. Wait until she takes office...
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (11.12.10)
And then she won't live up to any of her pledges and in particular this one. When she'll have Secretary of Defense and his staff breathing down her neck, when the head of the NSA and CIA pay her an announced visit she'll play ball. And any of you who think otherwise are deluded. Don't you realize that believing the Tea Party can make radical changes is about as logical as the people who thought Obama could do the same!
30. Ros-Lehtinen and the Cuban Exiles in Miami: Caribbean Jews
izzie irgun ,   zion   (11.12.10)
I LOVE THIS WOMEN .. She never fails to take a solid pro Israel position and is unafraid to confront any poltiican or reporter over her views. She has relentlessly and unconditionally supported Israel for 20 years and we owe her an enmense debt of gratitude. In fact the cuban exile community in florida has long been a friend of Israel as they relate to the need for personal freedom ... just call them Carribbean Jews So how about Lieberman and Ros-Lehtinen in 2012 ... that would be a wake up call for the arab world to hear
