Omri ,   Israel   (11.25.10)
2. Excellent news.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (11.25.10)
A very wise decision - we need to reduce our economic dependence on an increasingly hostile Europe. India faces the same threat as we do from Islam. I should add that India is not infected with anti-Semitism. This will be a mutually beneficial arrangement.
3. India is the future
Adam   (11.25.10)
I'm very happy to see a growing relationship between India and Israel
4. India free trade
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (11.25.10)
I can state confidently that India's modern founder, Mahatma Gandhi is turning over in his grave about this Israel-India free trade development, as are his immediate successor leaders. This cuddling up to Israel (and the US) by India will lead only to more terrorism there and the ultimate collapse of its government and its replacement by a more rational and realist leadership.
5. flooded by cheap goods?
nadav ,   tlv israel   (11.25.10)
are you kidding?! any one visiting from a Western country will tell you that Israel has been flooded with cheap, horrible products for the last 20-30 years- at least! Israel doesn't really have low-tech manufacturing anyway meaning that almost all the textiles and plastics etc are made abroad, mostly China; the cheap quality is horrible! Ask anyone who overpaid and bought clothing at an "israeli" clothing chain and they'll tell you that horrid cheap goods are here to stay! unfortunately, all 1st world nations are being flooded with horrible quality cheap goods and that has ruined many markets. - That's globalization for you! - it's a two way (3rd world) road!...
6. India....
Abir ,   Chicago, IL   (11.25.10)
This is great news. It opens up a large market with numerous possibilities. A wonderful country that accepted many peoples into its borders, including Jews. We knew no anti-Semitism in India. Jai Hind !!
7. both have the same enemy
martin ,   uk   (11.25.10)
india today, is a better friend of israel than any european country. i look forward to the day when both countries can manufacture modern fighter aircraft without u.s. engines etc. now that would worry the moslems, the eu, the usa etc. i have indian friends in the uk, all of who respect the jews and israel. there was never any conflict in india and they never faced hatred. quite the opposite. i willingly purchase made in india items, but not from pakistan, bangla desh etc.
8. india, china are the future. eu, uk, are the dead past
ralph   (11.25.10)
9. GOOD NEWS !
HINDU ,   USA   (11.26.10)
This is indeed good news for both nations. There are in India more Christians than there are Jews in the whole world. Most of them are very religious. It may be a good idea to promote tourism to this section of Indians. Both Israelis and Arabs traders could benefit.
10. Cheap goods?! Oh noes!!!
Etoile ,   Montreal, CAN   (11.26.10)
We can't let India flood the Israeli market with better quality goods that are cheaper, I mean we need to think of the blue and white industry. We all have to sacrifice in order to keep the Israeli big government monopolies and union fat cats in their places on top of the scale at your expense. To think some morons would realize that all the money in savings for buying Indian products would be better served in the pockets of the Israelis while also having better quality products at their disposal. As you can tell I am all for this agreement and hope many more like it come out. In free trade, both sides will win because individuals will independently play their economic strengths and the consumer will win with the freedom of choice. The choices being the best that both countries have to offer and protectionism is never the way to go. Mazel tov to India and Israel, may both countries continue to grow and prosper.
11. Finally my country...
Jonathan ,   Mumbai   (11.26.10)
India is accepting the reality that they do not have any friends in the muslim umma including iran. for a long time the muslim minority in india has held the sway vote and could push their anti Israeli agenda. Say no more. I hope that Israeli and all decent rational Indians will formulate a strategy together to overcome the cancer of islamo fascist politics.
12. Wait a second !!!!
Sikmar ,   India   (11.27.10)
wait a second.. I am a Indian and just by chance a Hindu ......lets just keep this talkback about buisness...free trade thats great ..for both the country ....but pl dont talk about relations between Hindus and Muslims ... .....relations between Hindu and Muslims are pretty good in India ( remember we have 2nd largest Muslims polulation in the world) ...irrespective of some attack by mainly by foreign muslim jihadis from Pakisthan....u can no way compare it with Jews and Muslims relation.....no deep hate exist between Hindu and Muslims in India...they knows how to stay together and more or less peacefully and side by side happily irrespective of their difference in religion and belief .....I wish people in India will not learn how to hate your own people from Israelis...just because somebodies religion is different and because they are not Jews....I lived long time in Israel ..I know how things run there.....Muslims in India are "first" Indian...and it happens to be that they believe in some other religion ...and they are equal in all respect in the eye of the country and its constitution and also by their fellow contryman........its not like 2nd class citizenship of Arabs Israelis in Israel.. (legally and and socially) ...I know all the Israeli will start to bombard me we talkback claiming how all these claims are false ....but I can`t be more positive ..sorry ..
13. wait a second!!!!
eshkol abraham ,   petak-tikva   (11.27.10)
i am indian born jew and born and bought up in india, now staying in israel for past 12 years. arabs who are israeli citizens have equal right they hold good post and have equal rights in hospitals and unemployment benefits. we have member of parlements who are arabs. i dont know where you stayed in israel but do visit wher i work and Iwill show you different picture. In india if you will check most of the synagogues are in muslim dominated areas. jews and arabs have many things in common like food , culture and religion.
14. cheapgoods?
eshkol abraham ,   petak-tikva   (11.27.10)
if you are so concern about cheap goods from india what about chinese goods which are sold in all the shops in israel.they are mush cheaper, i am sure you too have lot of things at home which is china made. i too think about blue and white and if you check iIndia imports lot of things from israel. I am sure India will be good partner for israel future.
15. its funny to see how politicians are a bunch of idiots
joe ,   kfar saba israel   (11.27.10)
because israel sells arms to india and spy planes, we sign free trade agreement with them while today Indian President Pratibha Patil said that she supports Syria's demand for Israel's withdrawal from the Golan Heights what a joke!!!!
16. @Joe 15 SPOT ON !
Trumpeldor   (11.27.10)

whoever ,   wherver   (11.28.10)
Listen my friend You can not fully comprehend the complex nature of Middle East, unless to realize the truth about Islam. good luck and wish you best.
18. India is flooded by Chinese goods !!!!
Ryan ,   India   (11.28.10)
Well !! streets in India are already flooded by cheap chinese goods...so we are not in a position to flood Israeli market with cheap goods....as chinese make more cheaper than us....so dont be worry ..specially when already Israel is full of cheap chinese products....anything u buy excpet falafal, some Kosher foods, Shabat Oven, solar water heater and Tora, some agriculture equipments...most of the things sold in Israel nowdays are made in China......and by the way, now you know ..how those big boys like Sammy Ofer, Stef Wertheimer, Michael Federmann, Lev Leviev (and they force Politician ..for treaty like that ) became more rich...they simply need new market to sell their things.....they dont care about common people ...
19. Who's Kidding Who?
Zorro ,   NY City   (11.28.10)
Their President just advocate the return of Golan and now their Finance Minister wants a free trade agreement. They are nothing but a double headed snake
20. # to 12
tejas ,   India   (12.26.10)
Are you kidding?
21. fta
roshan ,   india   (05.03.11)
hurrah to india israel friendship
22. India's President and Gandhi
Mazo ,   India   (01.03.12)
India's president's claims are purely rhetoric that she has to speak to appease her hosts. Gandhi on the other hand had many idealistic views about Jews and the Arabs and even Nazi Germany. However despite being a life long nonviolent protestor, he too advocated and supported war against Nazi Germany as the "one exception" to his philosophy.
