Why is the Golan Heights even "Syrian"? The UN decided it goes to Syria when the French and Brits withdrew from the area, pretty arbitrarily. Then it was under Syrian control for what, 20 years, until Israel took it (in a DEFENSIVE war)? It has been under Israeli control more than twice the amount of time it's been under Syrian control. Syia has no claim over the Golan Heights except for 70 year old maps. That's it. They want it purely because they'll jump at any opportunity to weaken Israel militarily, it doesn't even matter to them who should legitimately own the place. Like the Shebaa Farms for Lebanon, a pitiful excuse to continue conflict.

We have been waiting for this war for too long. Syria does not have nearly as many worthy targets as Israel. You have several nuclear plants, several large desalination and power plants, chemical industrial compounds, airports, etc. You have so many attractive targets. We have much less. It is obvious who is going to be the biggest loser. Iran, the Gulf States, and Trukey are going to rebuild everthing for us like they did in Lebanon after the 2006 war. We don't have to worry. Of course Syria won't start targeting civilian targets, but looking at Israel's history we know that Israel can't have a war without targeting civilian infrastructure. As for the people, we won't hit any residential areas, but we can only speak for ourselves. We don't know what our allies (Hizbulla, Hamas) will target. If the war starts it will NEVER end until we get back every inch of land. We are ready to have a long resistence fight for 20 years or more. We don't care.
