1. No problem!
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (11.29.10)
Never mind Mrs. Clinton! Nobody believed in your word BEFORE the Wikileaks! So everything is a usual, we the people know who you are!
2. Iran, without a doubt, is the most dangerous thing that...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.29.10)
... threatens civilization as we know it!! This reality is clear to the non-Shi'a Muslim community worldwide, including the Arab world. This reality is clear to Israel. This reality is clear to some of the better minds in Europe and North America who are familiar with Islam, with the history of the region and with the history of humankind. Iran's today is akin in the most fundamental ways to Germany of the early and middle 1930s, after the rise of Nazism to power and during the time its ideology and design for the entire world was coming out. The world, by and large, suffered from a sense of appeasement and paid for it dearly, very dearly. These days, the President of the US appears to have encountered the same illness: appeasement. Let us ensure that we do not make the same mistake, while paying for it many times over...!!
3. leak erodes trust among nations????
Dana Rothschild ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.29.10)
really? isn't it, that USA does not trust anybody????? you have no shame, Hillary Clinton!!!!
4. Simple solutions for Ms. Clinton and the US
Reuven Ben-Tal ,   Jerusalem   (11.29.10)
The US State Department and other government agencies first communicate in a way that is negative and damaging about their allies, then they complain that this communication has eroded trust among friends! WOW, how's that for a brilliant statement?! My solution for Ms. Clinton and her colleagues is to first identify and acknowledge who their true allies and real enemies are; and then watch the way you express yourselves, and chat less in general. If you do this and get your strategy straight, then you will not need to be involved in damage control tactics.
5. Leaked memos attack the State Department
no one else!!!!!!   (11.29.10)
6. HILLARYS' BIG MOUTH
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (11.29.10)
No ,it is clintons' big mouth and arrogance that has caused this crisis .She should not shoot the messenger.
7. And as usual she is wrong
Dan the Jafa ,   Auckland,Aotearoa   (11.29.10)
The leaks do not "erode trust among nations". They show that trust of nations in the USA was misplaced. I suppose it is a good time for Pollard-must-rot-in-jail crowd to shut up and cease their indignant bleating about "friends spying on America", because as it turns out America is the first among spies. Ouch. Somebody, give this kid Assange a medal.
8. If the object of the exercise ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.29.10)
... was to embarrass the current U.S. administration, then it has succeeded beyond belief. That said, I think every employee in the State Department should be forced to take a lie detector exam. No exceptions. As they say in the CIA, "in G-d we trust. All others get wired to a polygraph." Given the sensitivity of the leaked documents, I have to believe that the leak is very high up the food chain. Perhaps it is the opening salvo of Mrs. Clinton's run for the presidency.
9. #8
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.30.10)
Clinton broke International Law, the UN convention and bilateral treaties by ordering her agents to spy on UN diplomats, including getting DNA samples, credit card numbers and computer passwords. Not only did she order spying on China and Russia, but also on supposed US allies like the British. She is in trouble. This is Clinton's first salvo in trying to hang Assange (after the fake rape charges) so she won't have to resign.
10. Good Foe WikiLeaks
Dan ,   USA   (11.29.10)
Obama's administration does not value traditional allies. Obama is a Muslim and will do everything in his power to destroy America. Hillary has always been a globalist and an opportunist. The CIA has never been effective and all of this is now out in the open for the world to read.
11. To: Israel Israeli at No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.30.10)
Oh, she's one of the most dangerous people in the United States. She also seems to feel that she is above the law. Remember Whitewater? She chose to ignore a subpoena (Nixon had to resign the presidency for much less) and then two years later "Oh, look what I found in a closet." People went to prison for her. Vince Foster supposedly committed suicide (by shooting himself in the back of the head!). Mrs. Clinton is very dangerous -- she is a megalomaniac who thinks that a different set of rules applies to her. She is also ruthless.
12. Leaks expose Obama as inept
Isaac   (11.30.10)
The Wiki leaks really expose the Obama administration as being inept because Obama kept saying that the Israelis and the Arab Palestinians had to have a peace agreement to strenghten his hand in having the international community (i.e. Arab countries) deal with the Iranian crisis. (i.e. linkage - (for example, this was Obama's statement in his first newsconference with Netanyahu on his first visit to the US after he became PM)); however, the leaks expose that the Arab countries were very forceful in wanting the Obama administration to deal with the Iranian nuclear crisis immediately - nothing being said about the peace talks in order for them to want Obama to deal with Iran's nukes.
13. Taking an absurd position
Thomas ,   Dixieland USA   (11.30.10)
There is very few occasion in life when a statement and its negating opposite are both true. The upside down of the Aristotelian logic. The leaks did not reveal anything new that wasn't known already in private conversations, thus it did not incur effective damage. What it did was a loud yelling into the stale air that the "Emperor is naked" and vexed the poker-faced hypocritical politicians. So far so good. But because it could have led to tragic consequences in other, different circumstances it should be condemned and the perpetrator sentenced. Something like this would be appropriate: Give him a medal, and shot him afterward.
14. Realistic national strategy vis-a-vis Wikileaks
Christopher ,   Philadelphia, USA   (11.30.10)
Let's be realistic here. Information leaking has been a fact of life. This, by itself, isn't "new". What is "new", however, is the Internet has allowed the rapid propagation of such information. You cannot put the Internet back into the bottle. Rather, as occurred throughout history, those who adapt successfully will survive and those who don't will not. Nations will have to adapt to the role of the Internet and device strategies to maximize their interests under the new paradigm. With respect to the phenomenon of "Wikileaks", you cannot stop it, but you can co-opt it into a tool of your national arsenal through careful deception, and you can also render it useless. For example, it was no less a character as Sun Tzu who said the "War is deception". Why could the US or Israel not deliberately plant agents within Wikileaks, or "leaked" false information through it, in order to achieve national objectives? Actually, the success of the organization is gauged by its credibility. The best way to neutralize this threat is to destroy that credibility through both penetration and deception in order that the public at large stop trusting anything it says.
15. Good, not good, not really anything
R ,   Israel   (11.30.10)
Some good may have emerged from the leaks, but I don't agree with the title of this article that the leaked memos attack the world. They attack mostly the U.S. and other democratic nations. And yet, there was really nothing surprizing in there. The good side is that the media has a new flavor of the week and we don't have to hear 20 minutes of blah blah every night about Alef, Mem, Shin, and Bar Lev,
