John ,   Boulder USA   (12.02.10)
The only dangerous regime in the middle east that has started wars recently is Israeli regime. Look in the mirror.

Anadelfos ,   Athens Greece   (12.02.10)
I welcome Israel to the list of countries which feel the animosity of Turkey. You are not alone. Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Armenia , are waiting for you to join the club. The turkish military excersise named Efes 2010,which was held in Seferi Hisar area was not planned against Sicely or Malta.
3. Erdogan is a TERRORIST and he doesn't hide it!

4. John from Boulder
Yaron ,   USA   (12.02.10)
You must be spending too much time and money at the dispensaries in Colo. Your comments indicate you have an amateurish understanding of the conflict and one of your ultra-liberal professors has poisoned your small little mind. Read and learn before you start demonstrating your utter ignorance in public as you have.
5. # 1 REGIME
JOE ,   CANADA   (12.02.10)
USA has started war in Iraq for oil , Israel is only defending herself against fanatics and Islamic regimes.
6. #1 John, you think with your behind
Eran ,   Singapore   (12.02.10)
"... Those who have slandered us will be crushed under these claims, will be finished and will disappear,” the prime minister said in his first comprehensive comments about the WikiLeaks release. Oh, what a typical Turkish response of crush, kill destroy. Who does Erdogan think he is, Sultan Abdul Hamid? With this mindset, Turkey will never enter the EU and be out of NATO very soon. Israel will replace Turkey in NATO.
7. arrogant erdogant....kick him out of nato...he loves hizbull
Jae ,   Lynn US   (12.02.10)
ah-iran....

Amnon ,   miami   (12.02.10)
If you can get out from the snow in Boulder than you can see the Ankara islamofascist regime you like so much creating dangers for Nato,to my despair i think you are not able to use your brain it is frozen like the weather at your neck of the woods.

11. 1 Israel defends Arab world
(12.02.10)
12. West needs Turkey more than Israel
Gökhan ,   Istanbul   (12.02.10)
You should all understand, that Israel is an obstacle to the Wests hegemonia. Israel has totally destroyed the idea of western supremacy. Nowbody wants to see isreal in the middle-east any more. This thug-regime should disappear. Turkey should take back its territory, stolen by the sykes-picot-robbers. Israel has no say and the US needs turkey to counterbalance russia and China. Otherwise, adding also turkey tou your childisch axis-ov-evil-list is going to make you even more problems.
13. West needs Turkey more than Israel...
Anadelfos ,   Athens Greece   (12.02.10)
So Turkey is going to counterbalance China? How exactly is that going to happen? Maybe through joint military excercises, as was the latest Anatolian Eagle where chinese jets participated? Or is Turkey willing to return to Syria the whole Iskenderum province which she grasped in 1939? Give us a break....we are not as naive as you think.
14. Turkey supports al qaeda.
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (12.02.10)
and is a member of NATO - i know it's not funny but it sure reads funny in black and white. Arab and their muslim cronies are LAUGHING at us, and who can blame them. These monsters would have remained powerless barabrs if it wasn't for the us!
15. 12* Gokhan: Israel should disappear
Nora Tel Aviv   (12.02.10)
Mr. Gokhan, how sweet of you. So, you want us to disappear? How ? Should we evaporate? How ? With a nuclear bomb ? If yes, all you have to do is ask your "Uncle Ahmadinejad" to do you a favor by send us his bomb. In the meantime, Mr.Gokhan, we will pray that your scenario backfires.
16. TO 12 " GOKHAN " A lost cause sadly while AKP in power.
Jude ,   London, England   (12.02.10)
Gokhan i'm not sure how restricted your access is to free media, internet sites & u-tobe being censored & legitimate criticism of Turkey's policies potentially subject to criminal proceedings for " shaming the name of Turkey.. " but your comments are totally out of sink with reality . It clear from the Wiki Leak cables of how the West & Arab nations view Turkey under Erdogan & the consensus is that it is Turkey which is on the path to becoming a fascist fundamentalist authoritarian regime - where democracy is a by word for intimidation & conformism to the AK party & Erdogans neo Ottoman aspirations to be the " great power in the Middle East . Not the EEC, Russia , The Arab States nor the US trusts Turkey under Erdogan - as a result of his regular grandiouse & vitriolic statements, the repressive atmosphere in Turkey with kangeroo trials, human rights watch reports of arbitary arrests & torture - no one is keen to share information with a country who is an ally & supporter of Iran - the latest laws prohibiting Israelis & Greeks from buying land in Turkey & the anti semitism which is allowed to play out in nationalist newspapers have shut the door to the EEC whilst this party are in power. The AK party is sadly leading Turkey down a dark hole -Ataturk would be turning in his grave & urging Turks to get rid of these intolorant egomaniacs.
17. Err-dog-an
di   (12.02.10)
What Turkey really and urgently needs now is get rid of this terrorist Erdogan. Turkish army used to be the driving force and the levellers of all Turkish aberrations throughout their modern Ataturk history. Today, their national hero would turn in his grave had he seen this terrorist menace to the Turkish nation. The best solution is get Erdogan out and start afresh with the West. Show them you can be serious and not Islamofascists, show them that you cannot be friends with terrorists in Iran and Gaza. You don't do it rapidly - you will be marginalized forever. Israel is not a country you can temper with for you will soon hit solid rock and be back to square one and then what? Nothing, I assure you. John, a big boulder must have fallen on your head up there in Boulder ! No 12, your comments are worthy of oblivion. Nothing more.
18. Judging by #12 comments Turkey has territorial ambitions
Avi ,   Geneva   (12.02.10)
(that's the bit about Sykes-Picot), plus incidentally some people there are it seems dreaming of wiping Israel off the map, plus they imagine that the USA and the West need them against Russia and China (forgetting that the USSR is gone, and it is Turkey who is traditionally scared of Russian greed for Med sea territory). Why oh why did we deserve such moronic enemies as these?
19. Mavi Marmara
Talha ,   İstanbul & Turkey   (12.02.10)
When you're talking about Turkish-Israeli relationships, you should not forget about the Mavi Marmara. Turkey is a democratic country choose head of state by the people's votes and Turkish people will not forgive Israel until a just punishment. If a Turkish cabinet try to normalizes the relations, it'll be punished by us in coming elections.
20. Sn Gokhan - Thanks for posting your sincere views
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.02.10)
Now we all know that you do not want a small piece of land smaller then the Konya Vilayeti in Turkey or just about the size of NJ state in the USA for the Jewish nation. You would like to destroy it. Having raised your sincere opinions from now on please don't consider yourself a peace loving Turk. Destroying a country is not a peaceful thing. You are a confirmed warmonger based on your own admission that you would like to eliminate Israel totally. Now let's discuss the lands that were stolen. Smyrna, Ephesus, Pergama Dididm, Milet, Canakkale or Troy Istanbul or KOnstantinople, Edirne or Adrianople all were stolen from Turks who came from Central Asia, Gaziantep, Diyarbakir , Tunceli, etc from the Kurds, Van Erzurum, Agri from the Armenians.
21. Mr. Bechor - The objective should not be to kick Turkey out
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.02.10)
of NATO. Only half of Turkey support the AKP. The rest are against. The objective should be to gain the real moderate, secular, modern Turks' trust and get Turkey back on Ataturk's path.
22. Gokhan, would the land that you are planning to acquire
Jacob Blues ,   New York City, USA   (12.02.10)
include Sryia, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq too? Just wondering how far you seek to reclaim the old Ottoman Empire. There was a reason that the Arab world sided with Europe in WWI.
23. John @ 1, Israel hasn't started a single war.
leo ,   usa   (12.02.10)
24. Tahla @ 19, you are correct. Israel must not forget
leo ,   usa   (12.02.10)
Turkey's backstabbing provocation last Summer.
25. Dream on
Erden ,   London, UK   (12.02.10)
In your dreams, Israel replacing Turkey in NATO will never ever happen, that would be worse than Iran in NATO, a state that bombs innocent civilians and who has no care for international law (Israel) will never be in NATO a country can not be kicked out of NATO, what a lunatic article.
26. Sn. Talha - elections alone do not make a democracy
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.02.10)
When elected people start to intimidate the people by tapping into telephone calls, videotaping people in their privacy of their homes ( Deniz Baykal incident) journalists (Such as Tuncay Ozken, Mustafa Balbay) and medical professors (such as Turkan Saylan and Professor haberal) are put into a jail in Silivri and after almost 2 years they are not charged, jopurnalists like Bekisr Coskun and Emin Colasan are forced to be fired from their papers by pressuring their boss tehj Dogan Mesia group with an unjust and huge amount of tax and penalty, this is not a democracy, this is a dictatorship imposed by the elected people. It is the dictatorship of the majority , in the words of the French poet laFontaine"La raisonne de plus foprte est toujopus la meillore" but not a democracy. What you have in Turkey is straight out Fascism.
27. Correction to my # 20
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.02.10)
I made a miostake in my second paragraph. Here is the correction Now let's discuss the lands that were stolen. Smyrna, Ephesus, Pergama Dididm, Milet, Canakkale or Troy Istanbul or KOnstantinople, Edirne or Adrianople all were stolen fromGreeks by Turks who came from Central Asia, Gaziantep, Diyarbakir , Tunceli (Dersim), etc from the Kurds, Van Erzurum, Agri from the Armenians

Despite the great diplomatic tensions vis-à-vis Israel, Turkish officials announced that they too will be sending two firefighting airplanes.... You say Erdogan is a terrorist, yet he still helps when another human is in need of help..in this case the human being Isreal...you people make me sick.
29. You people are insane...
Josef ,   London UK   (12.03.10)
You people are insane... This article proves the sort of crap that is fed to the Israeli people.

Howard ,   USA   (12.03.10)
